i have a question:

i really really REALLY want to know how do you paint designs on your nails (like flowers, stars, hearts...etc). i suck at nail painting!!

p.s. i don't want to use stickers...

Wow you guys hate N.Y.C huh? lol I LOVE IT! Its damn cheap and the one coat last me about 1 week. Other brands I tried peel off within like 3 days. I've tried OPI... didn't see what the big fuss was about. :/

hmm, i failed to mention, i also use avon base coat and top coat along with N.Y.C. I use base coat so my nails don't turn yellow, but could that be the cause of my peeling?

My friend recently bought these for me when she saw me staring at them in the store. (Orange represents my idol, so that's why.)

I can't use them right now though because I play basketball and piano. Ah well, I'll wait to spring break or something...

Okay, so the real reason why I'm posting... [LOOK. QUESTION. HERE. XD]
What's the most easiest way to clean off the sides of polish?

I've tried soap and water, doesn't seem to work well. I've tried cotton balls w/ nail polish remover, it would soak through and get the nail I was holding... Then I tried it with q-tips... they were too round so they would hit my nails on accident. And then I tried that one pen tool, and it didn't work well. I think I'm running out of options.

Get those thin nail brushes/pens.. you can usually find them in beauty supply stores.

july-eighth - They have pointy ended q-tips. You should try the nail cleaning sticks from DHC. Its $6.50 for 100 sticks. But the round q-tips work well enough for me. Or just take a shower and just peel the nail polish off of your skin afterwards. lol I do that.


extrapetite - Maybe... I never apply a base coat. Just the nail polish color I want and then a coat of clear polish. I buff my nails before I apply anything so that helps the nail polish stay on longer.

^ are you talking about nailpolish getting on the sides of your fingers next to the nail, right? Mine always disappear after like a day. my mom says they always come off sooner or later whenever washing your hands (: but i'd use q-tips even though you've tried it already, just dont get too close with the nail ! and then the rest of it will come off later =)

for me, it comes off when I'm showering, and picking it off

have you experienced any yellowing or discoloring of the nails after you remove the polish??


also, when you do the fading effect would you use two different tones to get it or do totally dif. colors?

iamme: hmmm i tried it.. but it didnt work for me.. i know that i am probably just being dumb. lol but when you say 3 coats do you mean let one coat dry and then do another and then wait for it to dry to do the last one?

oh and when you say strok down... do you mean towards myself... or away from me? oh my! im so stupid! lol.

But its a little to long for me ><" and how do you guys type with these things on!? im always to scared to type fast cause.. they come off ><" They dont stay on my nails for long.. what was the longest amount of time the nails stayed on for you? any tips? and what glue did you guys use! xD

The polish was too wet? My color polish was too dry when I applied my clear
And the color got mixed onto the brush for the clear nailpolish =\\

mine stays on for as long as i want it to @__@

i just use the glue straight from the package~~ it SHOULD stay on very firmly o_o;; maybe you used too little glue..? >< dun forget to let it dry before doing anything else >__<

and umm.. you can cut/trim them if they're too long =S
i think they have special cutters for fake nails, cause i saw those in HK...
but i just use normal nail cutters and then smoothen it out

No, not anymore. I used to when I had really thin brittle nails. But I take vitamin supplements for skin,nails,hair and its healthy now.

Also for everyone asking about the fading look, I'll post up a tutorial on it since everyones so confused about it. It'll be up soon.... if I don't get lazy.

you can buy glue from stores too..
the glue that comes on the nails is gel glue, and it'll stay for up to a week with good care.
you can always file them down ^^ i do that to mine!

You can use the nail dotters and dip it in white polish. You need to have a stable hand and good idea of how much paint should be loaded onto the dotter so the dots are one size.

i can help you!
mmm. basically. the glue that the nails come with -- sucks butt.

so u have to take off that glue. if u have a walgreens or rite aid near, go get some nail glue. and use that instead.

if you do that it can stay up to a week. i use my hands alot so they usually stay on for 1-2 days.

dont be scared to type fast. if u use the nail glue-- it should stick really well if u do it right.

soak ur nail etc, then cut cuticle and then massage ur hand and fingers, then paint nail polish.
it isnt' scary at all..
