^your nails are so clean..and nice.

there's this tutorial i found..where they teach you to do like this really neat manicure..the nails are called 'gel nails' i think..

its in japanese but..you can pretty much tell what they're doing.. they sell the material on the site.. with this uv nail dryer..i didnt get the exact items..but i tried mimicking the look of it.. which came out okay..but i think i could've done better.. here's the link; http://www.ishi-nail.com/nailartdemo%20-%20gel%20nail.wmv

hanabixstory
i so luv ur nails!! <3
hum.. manicures are expensive right?
and they dont stay long? how long will they stay??
bluecarrot
i'd say 3weeks--almost a month if you really take care of them..
miss_loser
^^^^ i dont get that gel nail manicure tutorial thinger. haha it's like.. O.o? or maybe i just dont know the materials involved in it ^^;

i haven't fixed my nails fancily yet. haha i think i'm giving my nails a break, cuz i just recently had on this polish design for a month nonstop.. and yahh ^^; dont want my nails to die. =X
bluecarrot
well i don't know what the lady's saying but these are the nail gel stuff they sell on the site:

- 2 x 0.5oz Transparent Gel
- 1 x 0.5oz White Gel
- 1 x 0.5oz Pink Gel
- 1 x 0.5oz Light Pink Gel
- 1 pcs 0.25oz Primer
- 1 pcs 0.5oz Sealant Gel
- 1 pcs 3.0oz Cleaner
- 1 pcs Gel Brush
- 1 Tutorial Video CD (in Chinese language)

you can search ebay for the nail gel stuff... revlon sells the materials too..its called a UV GEL KIT.

TUTORIALS FROM EBAY SELLER: http://cgi.ebay.com/Full-Set-UV-Gel-Kit-Pr...1QQcmdZViewItem

Instructions:
-Carefully scoop a small amount of gel onto your brush, keeping one side clean by swiping it on the edge of the jar.

-Apply a thin coat of gel over the entire nail plate beginning in the center of the nail and working the gel toward the cuticle. Stroke the gel in much the same manner as a polish application, pulling the brush to the free edge. Seal the free edge by swiping your brush lightly across the leading edge.

-During application, be sure the brush hairs do not 'fan' out. If they do fan out, you are applying too much pressure and not enough gel will be left on the nail plate to allow for shrinkage during cure, and the result will be tiny 'craters' where the gel has pulled away during the curing process. Should this occur, re-apply a thin coating of gel making sure to apply less pressure. Do not over-work the gel as this will result in air bubbles and/or an uneven cure.

-Repeat this process on all five fingers of the hand. Before curing, check your work again to be sure the entire nail plate is evenly covered with a thin layer of gel. Check the cuticle and sidewall lines to be certain that no gel is touching the skin, and if so, remove it with an orangewood stick. Be sure your have left a tiny margin all around the cuticle and sidewall line free of product to allow for proper shrinkage and to prevent repeated and prolonged contact with sensitive skin.

-Place the nails under the UV Light for a full 3 minutes to completely cure the gel. Apply a second coating of gel and cure for 3 minutes.

-Remove the hand from the light and clean the nails with a lint-free nail wipe saturated with the cleanser. This will remove the sticky 'uncured' layer on top of the enhancement, even though the nails will still feel slightly tacky which is normal. Inspect nails for an even surface, and if 'craters' are evident, apply one thin layer of gel and cure.

-Apply gel to the other hand following the previous procedures. Should you find that some gel has touched the sides or the cuticle area, remove with a 240-grit file and then buff until smooth. Finish by applying a sealer and the nail enamel color of your choice. If the client prefers a permanent French Manicure, use a white color gel to the free edge.

..

the nail kit i got was this one: http://www.broadwaynails.com/bwy200501/?pg...s&sg=BGLK01

works just like the acrylic powder they use at the salons.
im` l0vEd
^i was gonna sell the kit OR i was gonna help ppl do nails and charge them a price.

its actually really cheap for that kit and UV light. 80 for everything. except shipping.

mm. but i decided not to. cause who would actually buy it?

if u guys want. i can make a survey to see who's interested in it?

-estah
bluecarrot
yeah..the kits really in-expensive on ebay..they sell it around 20-25 bucks..its really just the shipping that makes it so expensive.

and the kit actually lasts a few manicures..maybe 5 manicures..

i'm not sure if many people will buy it though.
ilikepho
i can't stand having long nails sad.gif
i play guitar and do sport so it's really annoying

but.. i have to admit, they do look cute haha

me too.. for this semeseter i have a guitar class..and i can't play the guitar with long nails..so just for now..i'll hold out on my own nails..until i'm done..then i'm going crazy..he hehe. the only thing i've been able to do are those small manicure..to keep my nail healthy..

ix3katz: yeah..i notice that.. like for certain items.. sometimes they're 40.00 but then shipping is 50-60 bucks.. so in total it'll be like 100 something..

they fool with the buyers...i still do the search from lowest price first but only within my country..that way.. i can find things around my own location...

~~PuhPuhMuh~: is that the blue fade thingy too!? looks nice!
fre3xyayo

no, i wore them to school and i swear like every girl notice them even boys, they asked the same thing "where did you get your nails done" I was like their fake and they got amazed hahah. Cause they either thought i got it done at a salon or i did it myself.
capsasin
i'm always too lazy to go to the nail salon, so i just paint my nails myself.

(^ please excuse my ugly hands.)

i use the scotch tape method for painting french nails and people usually think that i get them done.
a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do to save money!
lolol smile.gif
ix3katz
^ thats pretty nice smile.gif it does look like it's done in the salon
lol usually when i just use scotch tape..i find that it sticks too strongly n it ends up pulling off some of my base coat ... so i just bought these lil strip things...only $3 for like 200 =D

IF ANYBODY LIVES NEAR PACIFIC MALL IN TORONTO AND LOVE TO DO DESIGNS ON NAILS I HIGHLY RECCOMEND TO BUY THIS NAIL KIT BY KONAD !!! it's amazing i got one tooo and nails are always fun to do now!!! =)

KONAD NAIL VIDEO DEMO

Konad Website!

DECEPTION
^ oo, I've seen this at the Bay.
But where is it near Pmall? & how much do they cost?
suki_*
^^^

it's at the new mall across from PMall so it's not at PMall, the new place across from it.. the price is decent depending on what set you are buying but since it's imported it's not that cheap =T i got a small set with 3 images plates for $30
happy_mim
i'm not good at that konad thing... so... i'm kinda... hmm... it's ok...
haha...
it takes a lot of practice
bitterSWEET
^ agreed, took me a while until i got the images out without cutting something off sleep.gif also, it gets kind of messy, but it's fun :]
suki_*
^^^

yup it's super fun =)

that's why u start off buying small sets to practice >_<;; u'll get the hang of it after a bit though =)
c_k4ng
hey sukii
which store in the new mall acros pmal ??
i want one!
ladiixxpreciious
ohmy.gif the konad thing looks so cool! but i cannot do nails.. period. >< my hands are very shaky and unsteady dry.gif
everyone has such nice nails in this thread!
BR1TT4NYy
i just came back from korea
and i did my nails using the konad stamping! + 3d stickers
it took me about 10 min to get used to it

excuse my ugly hands and nails (they are in the process of growing.. once again..)

btw, when i went to the malls in korea,
they use the a sponge like this
(minus the wood part)
for fading
its really easy too
you just start with a solid color and sponge it slighty towards your tips
and then you just used like a glitter and sponge it again to make it even
and the amount you use depends on how much you want it to show
RAINii
^ wow ~~~ soooo cute XD ; and i saw those stick before but they only used it on fake nails since they used a gel thing to pat it on instead of polish ~_~
to do the fade, i really think it depends on the type of color and polish, it didn't work for a few polish that i used -,-

amiiiii T-T
your nails are so superrr cute
i would buy but my paypal is acting retarded -,-
does she accept western union money transfer? XD

anyways, i was bored so i did my nails
the right hand took forever since i'm left-handed

.. i was bored hahah
ix3katz
^ i like the pearls~ lol

oo n this is off topic but i have the same phone =D but mine is pink

Is it safe to apply jewels directly to the nail?? Wouldn't it last shorter than acrylic nails??
bluecarrot
BR1TT4NYy: ooh---that's cute!! very elegantly---simple..

RAINii
: that's creative.. i do the same too..i hate doing my right hand because i'm right handed..and its hard to control with my left..the bad thing is.. when my sisters want me to do their nails.. they can't do it for me.. because i'm basically the one..that brought all this nail interest to them.. so its like..you bought it..you design it.. ^^;;

well i only use a really small amount of glue because the only problem with applying glue to real nails is that it tends to make a small "lump" thing but you can pretty much file it out smile.gif
marcs.lover
Does anybody know where I can buy nails online?? I need a store that sells really nice nails like these pics below. Find these from Nadine.

is it japanese style, coz at my mall, theres a japanese stand that has a "nail stamping kit" and i was kinda interested but unsure so i never got closer
RAINii
kat: your phone is newer than mine than, part of the new amore series ^^, i think mine is 74?

carrot: oii, it's like the opposite for me, kinda. my sisters can do nails but the way they design is more.. common? haha; i showed them pictures of japanese nail design and style i like and i even have the materials but they make it so plain -,- & when i do it on my own, it still looks crappy. i should have waited for my nails to be a bit longer but i wanted to do them ~ imma go buy the set of plain fake nails and do designs on them than glue them ontop my nail ~_~ ~~~~ do they damage your real nails?

brittany: XD ~ i do the same thing too, i use nail glue. but omg.. i apply it after i put on the stones and i think i put in too much cause it made my nail and skin stick together, it was a horrible feeling TT

i've been thinking about buying lots of different nail art supplies so i can design those really cool looking nails like the ones marcs.lover posted up. where do you guys buy your supplies? i was looking at the site "nelpara" if you search on google. they ship internationally, but i'm not sure if it's the best site to buy from.
BR1TT4NYy
^
that site has a lot of cute stuff! i think its pretty reliable cus you first submit your order then they give you an estimate
and you can use paypal, so its a lil more safe
