how do you do the glitter tips?

^you can put a clear top coat after the rest dries, and then sprinkle glitter on top. when it dries, shake off the excess

i broke my nail the other day =_____= i got so upset cause it took me like 2 months to grow out my nails really long & i was gonna get my nails done TOO >O

I did my nails yesterday and kind of mess up. I didn't wait for the silver lining to dry and put top coat on it. So, now it looks smear. The flowers are just stickers but I did put the diamond on myself.

d00d. my nails got hella weak all of a sudden. Like the top half layer of my nail is peeling off. Do you guys know what causes this? I know i haev to get like sally's hard as nails but i wanna know what i did wrong

can anyone post a good tutorial on gel AND acrylic application?

also, for gel, is a uv light REQUIRED? can you just apply it and let it air dry?

I just did my acrylics by myself yesterday. I get them done alot, so by watching them do it everytime, i kinda learned how to do it. I just went to walmart and bought the little acrylic set for like $6, and went to sallys and bought nail tips for $5. all the directions on how to do the acrylics are on the back on the box for the set. Its really easy. I just let it air dry, it drys pretty quick too.

I don't usually go on this thread so i don't know what you've used for your nails but have you been using acrylic nails? If so.. that may be the problem. I use to work at a nail salon and one thing I wanted to tell all the clients were acrylics are NEVER good for your nails. I've noticed that after a person gets acrylic nails, their nails are damaged because when you take it off or go back to the nail salon to get it off, notice how they use the machine to go over and take some of that acrylic stuff that's still stuck to your nail off. That causes the nail to become thinner and weaker. If you have strong nails, it's okay... but a person who have weak nails should stick to gel nails. It's much better. Although it's a bit pricey, it's worth it. Sorry if this didn't help in case you aren't in this sittuation.

I'm trying to do a french manicure on my nails. How do you do them? Do you do the tip first or what? I usually got the fake ones, so I have no idea how to do it on my real nails. =X

If you have nice long real nails, buy french manicure tapes and do the tips first, after that peel off the tape and apply the color you desire for french and top coat it off




I think it's cuz you need to let your nails breathe a bit, we're you putting on acrylic or gel nails? or constantly putting on nailpolish? if so, then that's why your top layer of nails are peeling. if you put on too much nail polish all the time your nails can turn yellow too

you would need the uv light cause gel doesn't air dry.
BUT. acrylic air dries.

and no i dont polish often.

it has to be nail related some how to have it peel like that even if you apply fake nails. Drink more milk then

i used to get my nails done every two weeks (silk wraps, usually simple designs like french)

but i grew out of it and now i just get simple mani&pedis on my more practical, shorter nails.

try not to apply any kind of nail polish and just let it grow naturally--- i think that's the best...

Dior: the chemicals for acryllic are really strong..and stinks up the whole house..

i tried it once... and i literally got a head ache from it... i did what the salon does too-- but i guess its harder to control the brush and sculpting the acrylic powder.

marcs.lover: for me... i'd put a clear overcoat on first..then do the tips.. then do another clear overcoat.

how do you get that faded nail look? where is looks thin coated on the tip and then causally fade down the bottom of the nail? O____o i want to do that so bad

im a little confused which is mine. Imagine my nail as like 2 ply toliet paper. and you can just peel apart the layers. My nail is doing that. Not all the way to the bed but like a centimeter in. Causing the tips of my nail to look thinner than my other nails. LOL its only happening to 3 nails o_O

To Batgirl: Sometimes my nails peel and stuff too but it's only because i use nailpolish a lot XP
I suggest if you pick at it, stop, cuase it only worsens. if you're really worried, just ask a doctor or when you get your nails done again..

Batgirl: use nail hardening nail polish--- or just put a clear over coat on it.. it'll harden it for the time being until your nails can rejuvenate... that's what i'll do.. i got that too..the peeling nails and stuff..

took a while for my nails to heal too..after i got my first acrylic nail manicure.. i just kept applying it... even if nail polish isn't healthy for your nails.. you can just try that if you need a quick fix or something..

i'm not sure if you want to do that..but that's what i do.

it's a clear blue bottle.. it looks like normal clear polish
it's ~$10-12

but it works realllly well!
u can use it as... top coat (lasts me like 2 weeks w/o any chipping..seriously) .. base coat... strengthener/hardener ..regeneration/growth treatment

but at times, i choose what they have there.
