they'll feel different and most of the time they'll be different colored
mine has 7 different sides

just follow the instructions that should be included with the wrapper and it should be fine

XD the regular black buffer (with orange inside) won't make it shiny just so you don't confuse it with the other buffer
i walked the mall and this lady tried to sell me this special type of buffer to make your nails shiny
anyways, just to warn you guys ~ buffing your nails too much (with whatever type of buffer) can thin out your nails !!

Hey, thanks for everyone's help! I got Revlon's shap-n-buff buffer.It has 6 sides: A black side (I think it's for shaping? it's really coarse...) a white side labelled Shape and Buff (do i only use this side for the edges?) and the four other sides are labelled:
1: Even out (the package said to 'buff vigorously')
2: Smooth (I buff horizontally one way about 4 times)
3: Buff (^same as step two)
4: Shine (^same as step two)
Am I doing it right? Haha. I think I did the shine part right since I can see the shine, but I think I'm doing some of the other steps wrong since sometimes it doesn't seem smooth and sometimes I can still see the verticle lines (ridges??)

Oh, also, you can use it for toe nails too right.... nails from the fingers should be the same as from the toes, right... toenails seem... harder? tougher? XD i only want to... shape them not shine them or anything =P

I do it free hand---using regular brushes that come with the polish to do the tips and then i use a thinner brush to draw on the lines =T not a good explanation, but i dont know how to make it any better =(

I was at the mall, and i dont know if this has been mentioned but its a long thread and i am NOT going thru all the pages....
ANYWAYS I was at the mall and there was this stand that had 4 machines called iNail. You basically put one finger in at a time. It pulls in your finger, you choose a design and it sprays and applys it on o_O It was like $2 a nail, $10 for a set. I did one finger. It was really interesting. I already messed it up though =(

i do know that there are machines like that, that sell like ipods and stuff... its so crazy..

but that inail machine is interesting..

only my second time using these tiny metal stones so the design isn't so good
beside, i had to do it myself on both hands so i tried to make it easy XD

roughly around $30 i got them for a little cheap haha i got it those done in an mini mall so it cheap
