babojeshio, what brand & exact color name is that gold/ yellow color of yours? & what polish did you use for the silver lining?
it's pretty.

:] the yellow/gold one is OPI's Cabana Banana & my silver lining is from Sally's Beauty Supply. i think they only have one brand there for the small brushes brand. but yeah, any brand with small brushes works just as well.

Nope! I absolutely love it. I have a very similar color to this: Essie A-Red. I just haven't painted my nails this color because it's tooo hot. The bright red orange would make me feel hotterrr. Haha

If you buffed your nails correctly, the shine should last for up to two weeks, no joke. You're supposed to "gently" stroke your nails 10- 15 times. Are you using the right buffer? It's very smooth to the touch. Kinda feels like vinyl.
1lasthope
Sep 8 2007, 03:26 PM
ON the video tutorial someone posted I think it only said to stroke it 4-5 time... next time I'll try to do more =P
Im using a Revlon buffer. I don't know what vinyl feels like X_x;

i use a small brush for designs.. but for the hearts, i used a q-tip with the cotton part removed. so it's just a paper stick with a circular tip.
but i messed up cause my white nail polish hardened a bit

no offence but i know why they did it for free.
the paint job is horribly done. you can see the line where the dark purple is (probably two coats) and the light purple (one coat). even the sparkles aren't even... sparkles are supposed to be the easiest thing to paint. If you were paying for this, I'd suggest you'd switch nail places for better services.
And I know when things are done incorrectly because I work at a nail salon.

Well, I've been stalking this thread for about a year. So I'm finally going to post up something. These are pictures of the nails I had in the summer. I still have the Liquid Gel nails but not the coloured die/dice? on the toes. Enjoy!

My LCN liquid gel nails, with white tips, and basic french manicure.

Picture on the side to show you guys how thick it was. Or thin?

And lastly, my toes painted with a dice design.P.S. All of you guys who does your own nails are really talented, and creative. :)Edit: P.P.S. Sorry for the big picture of the toes. QUOTE(xCookies @ Sep 13 2007, 09:52 AM)

No what you do is just dip a stick/toothpick with a clear polish to pick up the gem, and then stick the gem onto nail polish that's not dry yet.

I just bought a small french manicure kit... and I also ought this thing called "hard as Nails" that strengthens my nails. Should I put that one first, wait for it to dry and then do the manicure? This is my first time! Tips please! Hahah. Here's what I'm planning to do:
1. wash and dry my nails, of course
2. trim and buff nails
3. put on one coat of the 'hard as nails' thing
4. wait for it to dry
5. do the french manicure.
does that look okay?

I think you should just put the hard as nails strenghtener last because when you do french manicures, you usually use a brush dipped with nail polish remover to make a perfect line right? well when you dip your brush in nail polish removie to make the line it'll remove away all the hard as nails strenghtener that was there already. do you understand what im say? lol it's a bit confusing when you say it.

^I have those strips of paper to make teh perfect line. I don't have nail polish remover liquid, i have wipes =P

meiseen: thanks~! she did the flowers by using a
dotter or something like that and made five dots, she did
the five dots on all nails first (so that they can dry a tiny
bit) and then she took a tooth pick and sort of made a line
in each dot to the middle...sorry if that isn't clear enough XD
1lasthope: I recommend that you put the nail
strengthener as the bottom and top coat. My sister in-law
said that the 'Hard as Nails' nail polish should normally be
used as the bottom layer because how else would it work
if it's the top layer? and just in case, i suggest that you
put it as a top/protective layer as well.

yepp, you use acrylic powder to make those cool japanese style 3d nails.
it drys really quickly, so you gotta work fast
but it does depend on the brand you use so make sure you let it dry for a sufficient amount of time
you place the drop on the nail and shape it
