yes. they do. my boyfriend, in particular ..
every day in chem class he checks my nails. (i do them myself at insane hours of the night when i get too bored of studying.)
one day i came in, he checked my nails, and one hand's were red and the other hand's weren't painted.
he made fun of me for a little while, and then told everyone else in the vicinity about them.
loser boy. T____T;

Got my nails done yesterday. $50 worth. Yeah... my town isn't very cheap. I wish it was as cheap as the prices in other salons. But eh. I trust this salon very much. It's the only one I've been going to lately.

Not sure why I decided to get random designs, but whaatever. It turned out nice in the end. =)

i personally only get acrylic tips on special occassions cus after you take them off your nails are very brittle. also it's a pain in the butt to scratch yourself cus there's no relieve even when you're applying a lot of pressure. but they are pretty i must admit.

haha, my parents don't really like me doing my nails either =/ my dad was like how i can only paint them clear =/ well what's the point of that? LOL but i just do it anyway and now they don't care as much..

& lol those white pearl things are actually nail art stickers XD
easy to use, but the bad thing is, it peels of easily -o-
but for those jewels, i didnt use any glue, just brush abit of top coat under it and stick it onto the nails, wait for it to dry, and then apply a layer of top coat of it. it usually stays quite long ^^

anyone recommend anything to strengthen my nails?
I want to grow them to a nice length but they always end up growing weak on the corners and chipping.

Well I tried Sally Hansens daimond nail strengthener, its like clear nail polish you put on your nails to harden.
It worked for me =)

I decided to keep this simple with white tips and add some stickers ( haha. )
I still need to clean up around the nails on my right hand.

no pic at the moment cuz my camera's quality sucks..but got my nails done for the first time today..a good experience..the girl was pretty and sweet, she did a perfect job, and it was cheap!! (less than $2 USD)

the other girl filed my nails kinda rounded..black base with white flowers with squiggly things at the top or bottom corner depending on the nail..sparkle-y stuff in the center of flowers and a small "rhinestone" on the left pinky and two on the right thumb

ugh... my nails were growing all uneven and stuff. so i just cut them so they will all grow the same length and i could do some cute designs on them.. but i like my nails long.. TT________TT haha.. and plus i really wanna paint them.. haha but they need a break..

anyways...

what did it for me was OPI's Nail Envy. I have it in matte and it's pricey, but awesome

Im simple and quite novice when it comes to my own nails.
Dont think these pictures do it justice. It sparkles like diamonds in the light! (But its def. not as nice as some of the nails i've seen here) If you cant tell, its lavender french tips with white glitter. Flowers/bows on the ring and pointer fingers. Topped off with rhinestones on the right hand, which you might not be able to see.
(Dont look too closely =P. Took the picture right after i finished and forget to clean off the excess paint)

that's crazy!!! most shops only charge $30 or so for acrylics here in seattle.

hey, just a few days ago I went to a Vietnamese nail salon in Toronto, they charge 15$ for acrylics. I don't remember the store's name exactly unfortunately but it's along yonge st. outside of bloor station. there's actually alot of nail salons in that area. the first one i went to charge 20$ for acrylic nails so we went to the next one which charged only 15$ :'D look around that area and i'm sure you'll find a good salon. but besides that i dont know any good places around york region, sorry ): goodluck finding one though~~

I'm not sure abt which kind is the best, but the one i'm using now is from The Face Shop.
for mine, the gems usually stay for about a week or two but the nail art stickers doesnt usually last for more than a week

Well I bought a Konad kit cause I saw some person using it and fell in love inmediatly^^
this is my first time doing the french manicure and the konad thing so is not as perfect as some of the nails here but well, i like it

also, what brand and where did you get that silver lining? lots of people on soompi seem to have it, but all silver/glitter polishes i get, aren't as dense as that
