im inspired after looking at different designs!

gel is more natural than acrylic and it also has less chemical
acrylic turns yellow after a while while gel will just have less shine
i personally like gel wayy more than acrylic
it looks more natural and also doesnt small
the only thing is gel is more expensive but they dont differ by a lot

and yes i have taken the full nail course
everything from manicure to gel to acrylic and nail art



i dont really have a solution for the left hand thing but try leaning your right hand against something
that always helps

as for nail polish i use acetone
its really good and cheap!

i just got bored one day and look what happened to my nails. LOL i think it's pretty cool. not many people like it like i do, but it's my nails. whatever!! lol

These were hand painted yesterday and they're my real nails. I was inspired by a prom dress i saw at sears. very time consuming...












while i was at it, i decided i wanted matching toes.







i used 3 coats of the light pink, 1 coat for the design, and 2 coats of the super shine.



btw, i think the gel is alot prettier than acrylic bc it looks much more natural, it's shinier, and less damaging to your nails. however, it doesn't last very long. for me, once i hit my nails on a table or something they crack and become ruined. this happens whether i use the primer or not.

you can get the thin brushes in nail salons or beauty supply stores. if you have a sally's beauty supply store, then that's the place to go. they're quite pricey though. they should look like the silver glitter bottle i posted earlier and are either $2 or $4. i can't remember which.

those aren't gel nails. gel is just a clear overlay. kinda like a hard version of clear nail polish. similar to how acrylic is an opaque white overlay. both can be used over fake nails basically.

I have a question for you... is konad hard to get the hang of? I was gonna buy it but then I'm like wait this is harder than it looks...

This might sound disappointing, but they're just fake nails that I glued on!
My real nails were about that length and I filed them to look like that, but I had to cut them short for piano.
But thanks! I always get compliments on how they look like my real nails or whether or not I got them done in a salon.

weeellll for basic design, like only 1 print at a time unlike the ones you see on the Konad site, it's pretty easy. After a couple of tries you'll get hang of it.
Just practice, and a lot of patience and lots of Q-tips & acetone to touch-up minor mistakes.

these are gel nails. see the incredible shine? that's the difference between acrylic and gel. gel nails are permanently shiny no matter how many times you wash your hands and dont need to be buffed to achieve the shine. also, they kinda turn purple-ish blue in the sun due to the UV rays. the technique is also very different. it has nothing to do with the design. my bf is the owner of a nail shop and he does gel nails on me for free. hope that helps.

oh and for the person with the diamond shapes on the tips, you did a really good job of making them look like your real nails. so cute!

I got french tips today, but wanted to add something to them, so when I got home so I added pink flower stickers.

i watched while i was getting it done, and i was put under the UV light repeatively

my sister has a salon so i get it done free too

lolz oh really? cool. yours are really pretty. i've never seen nails like yours in my area and people rarely get the gels bc it's expensive. i just assumed they were from a box similar to what many soompiers sell and that you just glue on. yay for free nails! btw, how do you keep your gels from cracking? do you know what i mean? like if you were to lightly squeeze the sides so that it bends in the middle of the nails, you hear a crack and then a line appears.

Well.. my cousins made for me during chinese new year... its kinda blur....

That's called Lifting. That happens when the nail technician didn't really do a good job. (When he/she applied the gel, it gets on the surrounding cuticle, & it cause lifting, or if it's applied too thick) When you nail grows, it starts to "lift" up, and water can seek through. It's kinda hard to not have lifts with gels.

When that happens, all you can really do is:
-Don't bend your nails... lol.
-Fix it yourself (if you have the equipments and knowledge) or go back to the salon and have it refilled. That's why with nails, you usually come back every 2 weeks to fix, and refill it. Lol.

I spent 3 hours doing my nails, with the konad stamp, and because my black nailpolish sucked, it went on the tip really thick and always smudged. GRR so mad, my right hand looks so bad, my left is okay, Il post pics tomorow =P

Out of curiosity, I tried regular silver nail polish instead of Konad nail polish on one of my nails.
It really does work, but it's kinda sheer, not as opaque as Konad

^I tried really thick oldish kind of nail polish and it worked alot better than the good ones.
