umm i have a question... i bite my nails so they're really really short! i plan to get fake nails so i wont bite it anymore but i dont know if the fake nails can stay on since my nails are so short

^ i used to bite my nails too and they were super short for a while. i had fake nails on to keep me from biting them. it was really hard to take them off afterwards so i dont think you'd have a problem with them.

i used to have really long nails but i just cut them short recently >.<
i'll post up pictures when i've grown them out again

I have small hands with very small finger nails..and my fingers are sorta fat and chubby....and also very bad cuticles...lol...this tell you how i take care of my nails...I also have a bad habit of bitting my nails really short when I get nervous so they look even worse....

I am thinking about stopping this bad habit and growing my nails out for prom..but I was also wondering if I should get acrylics done for prom...and use my natural nails if they are long enough....

Everyone and their moms get acrylics for prom. I say you just grow out your natural nails and get it done.

um, i think i would just paint my nails the color i want (but not the whole nail, just the tip-halfway to the cuticle)...and "fade" it out with nail polish remover after it dries...gently.

how long have you had it? if you've had it for years (i have some), then theres nothing really that you can do...what I do is buff down the surface of the nail so the dent is less deep and noticable...but it weakens your nails...

...you can cut them short for violin and guitar (i used to play violin) and just paint them...


heh, I made my own pink (since it's spring) version of the strawberry nails...credits to smellycow for the idea...and instead of the leafyness to the green, i just made the tips french nail green...heh:

u can still have nice nails if u play the guitar/violin...just buff them regularly and keep them short and tidy

I grew out my nails kind of longer than usual but I cut them off so I could type on the computer x___x Dangit lol. I'll just grow them out again ^^ But those are cute little strawberry nails deportedkorean =]]] i <3. strawberries haha

Nope, it doesn't come out that easily if you get it done right - salon or glue on correctly. It's like crazy glued on.

I like mine short. Well, I actually would like long nails but I have phsy.ed this sem not to mention the fact that I bite my nails too much. >< I love this purpli-pink by Maybelline. It's the only one that actually suits my fingers.



BTW, how do ppl do nail art? Does it have to be a special bottle with a special brush?

I'm not sure how everyone else does it, but I get my own nail art bottles from ebay hehe they're the looooong thin brushes. I think you can also use a fine paint brush? I read about that somewhere. Check out your nearest art store.

I searched on the internet, and they had just art brushes. So I'm wondering, do you wash the polish off after each use or simply have a brush for each color?

I'm not sure about the maintenance on the brush but I would think you need to clean it with a polish remover and then water after each use just to keep it from clogging up and ruining the brush. And also, before each use, make sure it's dry and free of nail polish remover.

you could just clean the brush in between colors...but it'd be a lot more work cleaning those brushes than the nail art itself...

...i believe walmart has a couple of bottles of the polish with the super skinny nail art brush...i just bought one...

well, all i know is that the brand that i'm using is called "kiss"...maybe you could search for that on ebay.

i just found out that the paint that some people use to airbrush is waterbased acrylic...so i guess you can buy acrylic paint and some thin brushes...(easier cleanup)...and put a good topcoat on once it's dry?

actually, a lot of guys have commented on my nails (and heels...lol)...

...plus, i dont do it for the guys or my boyfriend (but he feels special when i do my nails), its more for myself, i feel more confident waving my hand around with pretty nails, but with dry fingertips/ragged edge nail and such, i feel like hiding my nails in a fist. Its nice getting complimented on my nails from a lot of people too.
