you can file the nail straight across first then straight up and down on the edges so it align with your cuticles and slightly curve the corners... hope that makes sense.

i know it in korean its called 봉숭아... and u have to mix the leaves of this plant and i think this white powder called 백반...

Changsta, try slanting your nail file 90 degrees (the width part, not the length part). You'll be able to file just the nail and not your skin. Also, when you're filing your nails, keep the file straight as to how you want your nails to be shaped. If you slant it too much, you'll file off too much nail near your skin; thus, resulting in crooked nails. If that happens, just try to make the entire nail even by slanting your nail file to a certain angle.

I'm so jealous of you girls who take good care of your nails.
I have long finger, but I have the issue of constantly biting my nails. so they rarely get passed my fingertips.

do any girls in here have the problem of nail biting? sometimes, I'm not even aware that I'm doing it, and I need to get rid of that habit! suggestions?

they have certain products that go on like nail polish that give your nails a horrid taste so that when you go to bite them, you're grossed out. i used to bite my nails...but i wanted to have pretty nails, so weird as it sounds, i decided to just let myself bit my one thumb nail, because my nails are strong as it is, my thumb nail would challenge me, and, that way, i had 9 nice nails...lol, after a while, i just lost interest. now, if only i could stop picking at my cuticles

I had that same problem!!! Those nasty nail polishes didn't work for me. I'd just peel them off with my hands and bite them. But I started getting into nail art designs (they have gorgeous ones in japanese fashion magazines!) and I just wanted to grow them out and I did. I guess thats not much of help to you. SORRY.

now and days ppl from my school get poke-a-dots with french manicures. but i do my own nails, i don't have i picture, but my nails are french manicure with blue and red dots. why red and blue....cause its 4th of july!!!!

well i use a toothpick. don't worry its clean!! lol! but u can go and buy those thick sticks that have a round tip on them. sorry i don't have a picture for u. my cousin use to own one, thats how i know what they are.

Thanks. :] Yes, they're my real nails. And I placed the rhinestones on my nails after applying a coat of clear polish just before they dried so the stones would be in place. Then I put on another coat.

i just painted my nail yesterday.
it took like 30 minutes to do, but i think it's worth it? ahaha



here's a tip* first i paint my nails then after fully drying,
i get the metal tip of a useless mechanical pencil and dip it into
the polka dot color. that's how i do my polka dots (:
make sure the nail polish isn't TOO runny, or else it makes
HUGE dots. haha

i used to go through all the Japanese nail art magazines for inspiration- until i went to a cosmetics store and saw all the nail art stickers. not expensive! in Hong Kong they got all sorts of nail tattoos and stickers for only HK7-HK10 (sometimes a pack comes with two sheets.)

i painted these nails because i was bored with the previous style.. lol:D it's kinda like a french manicure, but with a silverish glitter tip which makes it looks like normal tip color, with a small black heart and white dots around it:P

I use those nail art pens to do the dots. It has this needle thing (like a mechanical pencil), so it's easy to do dots that way.

I tried painting my nails yesterday. They came out horrible. I think it was the nail polish. -___-

Anyway, how do you guys paint the tips? I really want to ask that. All I know is how to paint solid colors onto my nails. Call me a nail painting newbie.

^ A lot of pratice. I couldn't do the tips either when I started. I used those stupid stickers but when I peeled them off, it came out like crap. Just trying loading the brush with just the right amount of polish and start at one edge of the nail and stroke it across like an oval shaped. -___-;; sorry but I really suck at explaining stuff. Keep trying and you'll get better at it.

Also those nail art pens. I looked them up on ebay. DAMNz. Its expensive. The shipping is like 20 bucks!
