Someone already posted a thread regarding this topic in the section section, so it got blocked. So I'm just reposting to the right section.

Kelly is the spokesperson for Vitamin Water. To promote for Kelly's upcoming album and single, Vitamin Water offer fans to get the remix of the single a few days early by purchasing a 12-pack Vitamin Water (including the code & website to obtain the song). I was able to listen the remix of the song, and it was so good. The song is rockish, but has pop element to it. She wrote this song herself.

Here is the lyrics to the song, courtesy of my friend Jess:

QUOTE
Never Again

I hope the ring you gave to her turns her finger green
I hope when you’re in bed with her, you think of me
I would never wish bad things, but I don’t wish you well
Could you tell by the flames that burned your words
I never read your letter
Cause I knew what you’d say
Give me that Sunday school answer
Try to make it all okay

Does it hurt
To know I’ll never be there
Bet it sucks to see my face everywhere
It was you who chose to end it like you did
I was the last to know
You knew exactly what you would do
Don’t say you simply lost your way
She may believe you but I never will
Never again
Never again

If she really knows the truth, she deserves you
A trophy wife oh how cute
Ignorance is bliss
But when your day comes,
And he’s through with you
And he’ll be through with you
You’ll die together but alone
You wrote me in a letter
You couldn’t say it right to my face
Give me that Sunday school answer
Repent yourself away

Does it hurt
To know I’ll never be there
Bet it sucks to see my face everywhere
It was you who chose to end it like you did
I was the last to know
You knew exactly what you would do
Don’t say you simply lost your way
They may believe you but I never will
Never again
Never again
Never again

Never again will I hear you
Never again will I miss you
Never again will I fall to you
Never
Never again Will I hear you
Never again will I miss you
Never again will I fall to you
Never
Never again will I kiss you
Never again will I want to
Never again will I love you
Never

Does it hurt
To know I’ll never be there
Bet it sucks to see my face everywhere
It was you who chose to end it like you did
I was the last to know
You knew exactly what you would do
Don’t say you simply lost your way
They may believe you but I never will
I never will
I never will

Never again
Never again
Never again
Etc.

Oh don't worry, the music makes the lyrics really meaningful.

This song is really different from the other mainstream songs out there.

A review for her new song. The orginal is not out yet but a remix was leaked.

Kelly Clarkson : “Never Again” (Dave Aude Remix) [listen here]
Though the official version of Kelly Clarkson’s new single should hit the web any minute now, a dance remix has already leaked. And while we’re usually not crazy about generic bass-bump redos, this one really sets the stage for what sounds like another chart-busting pissed-off rocker from everyone's favorite Idol. There are no guitars on here, but we can subliminally hear them crash in just as the hook hits, a la “Since U Been Gone.” Once again, Kells is striking out at a two-timing ex, “Bet it sucks to see my face everywhere,” she roars, sounding more like spiritual godmother Pat Benatar than ever. Never say never--she's about to do it again.

another review from a blog. I thought it would be cool to share.

Kelly Clarkson - “Never Again” (Dave Aude Remix). The official version of Kelly Clarkson’s new single, from her forthcoming album "My December", debuts on radio April 13th, meaning it should hit the web in seconds now. A dance remix, however, has already leaked. Despite the fact that musically it sounds like a generic dance track (albit, a kick ass one!) the lyrics and vocal delivery set the stage for what is going to be another chart topper a la "Since U Been Gone". There no guitars to be heard in this mix, but subliminally you know they are here. "I Hope When You’re In Bed With Her, You Think of Me", she sings with just the right 'touch' of bitterness as she condemns a former lover. She later roars "But When Your Day Comes, And He’s Through With You, And He’ll Be Through With You" as she takes a swipe at her ex's "trophy wife". Less talented chick rockers (Avril, Ashlee ect.) must hate this girl, she sounds so effortless here despite the fact that she hitting a tons of difficult notes. And she knows her way around great hooks, increasingly rare in music today. This. Will. Be. Huge.....and I haven't even heard the studio version yet?

I think the original single will be better though. It will probably be more soulful and rockish.

Another review of the remix...

Kelly Clarkson's New Remix
by Mandy Smyth

Kelly's new single just dropped! Well, sort of...the remix just dropped. Funny to drop a remix before dropping an original. EITHER WAY, it's hot. And Kelly's mad.

Kelly's new single, "Never Again," is about her ex who dumped her to go back to his ex-girlfriend (true story.) And while Kelly is a sweet girl, she has every right to be a little bitter here. Everyone gets burned by an ex at some point, and she channeled her energy into a really hot song that politely but strongly tells him off.

The song is energetic and it has some serious Kelly-ness to it! Her strong vocals really shine through in this dance ballad and man, I wouldn't want to be that guy she is singing about.

Personally, I like the new song. It looks like Kelly "Hit-Maker" Clarkson is due to have another number one album on her pretty little hands! Good Work, Kel!

I'm in the library right now, so I can't listen to the mp3 of the interview. Basically, Ryan loved it and he went all crazy repeating the lyrics. Also, the listeners called in gave positive feedbacks. If you unable to listen to it today, when I get home tonight, I'll make a transcript of the listener comments. Were you able to listen to the HQ I sent you?

When listening to the original single, I'm surprised that it's still fast paced. Not as slow as I thought it would. But, the real single had this really cool drum sound added to it.

Hear Kelly Clarkson's New Single!

"Never Again" is a slightly ironic title for Kelly Clarkson's new single--with its seriously peeved lyrics aimed at a cheating ex and his new woman ("You’ll die together but alone"), jet-pack chorus and zip lock modern-rawk arrangement, it's like "Since U Been Gone" all over again. But it's been 2 years since "Gone" reached its No. 2 peak on the Hot 100 and, in that time, Kelly has gotten rougher, angrier and even less forgiving. "I hope when you’re in bed with her you think of me," she seethes on the new track. And she sounds like she means it. Since the last guy got his room trashed, we wouldn’t be surprised if this new bad boyfriend got his entire place torched and charred. (Who are these a**holes, by the way?) There's nothing like the first time, so this darker "Since U Been Gone" cousin isn't getting us quite as pumped on the first few listens, but that doesn't mean we'll be upset when "Never Again" starts blasting out of every car window known to man in the coming weeks.

Holy crap...I needa get a hold of an acapella version of this song; a hands up style remix (a la Cascada) would be totally kick arse~!
xyunaxfantasiesx
^ I agree, an acapella version would definitely sounds good.
I really like the beginning, but not so much the rest of the verses or chorus, probably because it's sound like typical rock-pop to me.
vivjelly
I'm sure they will release the acapella eventually (when the album is released).

I think the 2nd part is more pop because they (the producer, RCA) wanted to gear toward the Pop & Hot AC audience.

The song was written 2 years ago, right after the break up with her ex-boyfriend. I'm sure Kelly is not bitter anymore. But the producer likes the song, so he included the song on the album.

QUOTE
Rejoice! Kelly Clarkson has a new single!

Quick question: Did you ever wonder what would happen if Pat Benatar had a younger sister?

Well, wonder no more. "Lil' Patty" (or is that "Baby Benny?" has now been revealed to be Kelly Clarkson.

Need proof? Just go listen to "Never Again," the new single that was just released today. (Much to my excitment, I assure you!)

Once again, Kelly's angry. Andrew made a good point that on her last album, only "Breakway" and "You Found Me" are even remotely positive. Otherwise, it's all "you'll never see the tears I've cried because of you, that I've cried since u been gone, that I 've cried behind my hazel eyes while pondering the beautiful disaster from which I must now walk away."

But a girl gets pissed, you know? I mean, homeslice named her upcoming album "My December."

But with Alanis about to headline at Caroline's Comedy Club, I'm happy to let Kay-Clacka (what? she needs a nickname! I can't just say "Clarkson" over and over, and I refuse to call her "Kelly" until we're BFF) be our new dark queen of pop. You know, along with Amy Lee.

There's no denying the influence of Evanescence-style, gothically dramatic grunge on "Never Again." I'd even say the song is alternative rock, which is a striking departure from rock-pop of the "Breakaway" album. But the single still has poppy influences. (And not poppy as in opium, y'all. Sleep, Scarecrow, sleep.)

Listen to how high up in the mix Clarkson's vocals are. Many harder rock songs are produced to push the guitar and/or drums to the fore, letting the vocal get absorbed in a wall of raging sound. (Note the difference between Clarkson's vocal prominence as compared to the singing on "What I've Done" by Linkin Park.)

It's a pop song that wants the singer to be the star instead of the band. (So guess what kind of song that makes "It's Not Over!" Snap, Mr. Rock Face!)

The mixing on "Never Again" is really reminiscent of Pat Benatar's rocking-but-popping hits. And why shouldn't it be? We need to hear these women, right? They're awesome!

And Clarkson's hitting high notes in "Never Again" that sound exactly like the ones Pat Benatar busts out in "Heartbreaker" and "Invincible," slight warble and all. And if you know the overlooked Benatar classic "All Fired Up," maybe you'll agree with me that K.C.'s new one sounds like a cousin, what with the crunchy bass and the ominous drums. Granted, "All Fired Up" is really positive and rebellious, but the structure is similar.

All in all, I say good job Kelly (okay, I guess we're BFF now). Way to keep your music interesting and surprising without giving up your affinity for catchy hooks!

Yeah, I really admire Kelly for at least trying to write her own songs. She works really hard not just to be a singer, but a songwriter as well. In all of the 3 albums (including the next one), Kelly has some creative writing control in them.

1) NEW KELLY CLARKSON NEW KELLY CLARKSON NEW KELLY CLARKSON!!! Yes, that's right readers, my current favorite musical artist, Kelly Clarkson, has released the debut single from her new album, titled "Never Again" (one question, anybody know the songwriting credits on this?). Thoughts: the normal kind of rockin, liberated, breakup lyrics we've come to expect from Kelly, but this is lyrically below some of the stuff on Breakaway (say "Behind These Hazel Eyes" or "Hear Me" , because it covers really familiar ground here. Unlike Breakaway, she's not tearing herself out of a co-dependent hole here, she just hates her ex's trophy wife. From a musical standpoint, the chorus is, I hate to say it, a bit comparatively weak. It could stand a bit more punch and power, though it is catchy. The verses are amazing though and I will be shocked if 2007 produces a better musical moment than the incredible bridge. After a few listens, my initial impression is that this is right up there with "Babies" for my favorite single of the year so far. This will presumably be huge and if rock stations had any brains in their heads they'd be playing the heck out of it. It fits on them more than it fits on top 40. Cannot wait to hear the rest of the album. [9/10 or so is my initial gut reaction.]

REVIEW:
Kelly Clarkson is finally back and she is totally rocking with this new Song and Sound! "Never Again" is her new 1st Single from her upcoming album titled "My December". "Never Again" is an up-tempo Rock song, That talks about being cheated on and mistreated. Almost sounding like her previous hits - "Since U Been Gone and Low", Kellys' Vocals have a much more Rock Tone..Basically entering an Avril Lavigne Turf.

Catchy lyrics are nothing new to Miss Clarkson, Where she brings us Lyrics such as "Never again, Will I kiss you - Never Again will I Miss You". Kelly has proven that her writing skills and Experince can come off quite Strong, and she has done nothing but Grow from her previous Album "Breakaway". Breaking away from her Almost Pop sounding flow, She brings us Straight Foward and Tough lyrics. As always Miss Clarkson rocks this track with her Emotional and powerful Vocals, Nothing new to us & She really knows how to show her listners what she is really feeling. Her backup Vocals (Done by her obviously) done in the chrous are just really haunting and adds that extra Spice to it. Through out this Rocking track the chorus is catchy as Anything she has done, but the breakdown bridge near the end is a new sound for her. That would have to be the catchiest part of the song.

An absolute must listen track! You will not be dissapointed in what Kelly Clarkson has promised us she'd bring to the table, Yet another #1 Smash hit for our All american girl. Your missing out on a good track if you plan to skip this one, But if your the type of person who loves the remixes - then go and download the remix of this song by Dave Aude. Now that remix is just haunting and really Exciting to listen to.

Weird. I was just talking with someone (can't remember who) about how Kelly Clarkson was due to grace us with another album. Next thing I know, I'm finding out an hour ago that she has a new single available, called "Never There(Never Again)." I've been listening to the Dave Aude remix non-stop for almost 1/2 hour now.

I wanna dance. I wanna blare the music and see sweaty bodies thrashing about. I miss England, where they'd dance to just about anything. People here will only dance to the most mediocre of the mediocre: blandella at its best.

I'd die of joy if they played this song tonight at Chucks, since I'll be dancing there with Syndie.

Kelly Clarkson » “Never Again” » Like I said before, hardcore rock madness, I love this new Clarkson track! “Never Again” will be the first single from Kelly Clarkson’s new album, My December, due out later this year. The video for the single was shot on the 10th so it should be out pretty soon! But like I said– hits, hits, hits! I always say, “if it ain’t broke, DON’T fix it.” If this is what could be looked forward to, from the album, then the @#%$’s going to sell. So keep bringing that grungy-bleeding-hardcore realness, with a touch of your own personality, Kelly.

Kelly Clarkson "Never Again"

Any connection to that talent/ reality show that birthed her was completely deemed irrelevant when Clarkson dropped the behemoth Breakaway. The multi-platinum Grammy winner was spearheaded by a handful of flawlessly crafted pop/ rock explosions, most notably "Since U Been Gone", an energy-charged kiss off that earned universal praise from the teenyboppers to the anti-pop clique with it's showboat chorus and indie rock attitude. Breakaway did for Clarkson what Control did for Janet, quickly pushing away any pre-conceived notions concerning what made her a "pop star" as each released single became a never-say-die airwave staple. Now all eyes are on America's favorite "Idol" to see if she can do it all over again on her third album, My December.

New single "Never Again" sticks to Breakaway's winning formula for the most part, but ups the ante by doing everything thousandfold. The song is bigger, fiercer, louder and much more rockier than anything that album produced. The questions is, though, does it ring better? "Since U Been Gone" was much too ubiquitous to top and anyone expecting anything close to it's power will walk away feeling at least slight disappointment. But such an unfair comparison doesn't mean that "Never Again" is a huge fall from grace.

More indebted to it's tense rock elements and boyfriend irritance, "Never Again" explodes in a blast of crazed guitars and thrashing drum work. It's all a little too much on first listen, as if Kelly went a little overboard in her ambitions and mistook herself for a Karen O-type artist. But as initial reactions subside, "Never Again" reveals itself to be another potent chart-stomper.

Burnt with jealousy and pain, Clarkson curses her ex's new relationship in sharp-tongued devlishness ("I hope the ring you gave her/ Turns her finger green/...I would never wish bad things/ But I don't wish you well/ Could you tell?"), the lyrics growing in pent-up rage until the singer has no choice but to implode in a wide-reaching annihilation of hard rock fury. The song peaks in volume so quickly that by the time the bridge rolls around, the production must go opposite, breaking apart into a cool drum-n-bass riddled section as Clarkson briefly catches her breath before she can vent all over again.

Less adhesive to a teen-pop infrastructure, "Never Again" reaches as far as it can go without Kelly completely losing her identity. It would've been foolish to suddenly jump ship from a style that catered to her so well the last time around, so the move to generously build off what worked in the past in such an accomplished way guarantees that Kelly has no intention of falling into a third album slump.

Snap Judgment: Kelly Clarkson's "Never Again"
Apr 16, 2007, 10:01 AM | by Michael Slezak

Categories: American Idol, Music

Not that I harbor any ill will toward Kelly Clarkson, but I've got to say, heartbreak and resentment sound awfully good on her. Indeed, the original American Idol is back in the role of woman scorned on "Never Again," the new single from her upcoming CD, My December, and the track packs an even more stinging punch than her ubiquitous "Since U Been Gone." Lyrically, Kelly aims most of her rage at her cheating lover, but midway through the second verse, as she turns her attention to the other woman, she manages to simultaneously deliver a warning and a bitchslap with the lines, "When your day comes and he's through with you/ And he'll be through with you/ You'll die together, but alone." Ice cold — but refreshing! I believe the first contender for Song of Summer 2007 has arrived. But don't take my word for it; listen for yourself, after the jump.

With the angsty anthem "Since U Been Gone," Kelly Clarkson managed to win legions of fans — including folks who probably never expected to care about a song by an "American Idol" champ. Now, she's got a new single called "Never Again," which takes the girl-power bitterness up a notch. Just consider the first couplet: "I hope the ring you gave to her turns her finger green / I hope when you're in bed with her, you think of me."

Rock guitars and deep synth strings just enhance the mood, and as with "Since U Been Gone," the chorus full of pumping crescendos. I'm not sure it matches the energy of her bit hit, though; listen to it here and tell me what you think.

Kelly Clarkson Shoots “Never Again” Music Video

Original American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson arrives on set to record the music video for her latest single, “Never Again.” She donned a black-and-white rocker chic costume for the music video, which takes place primarily in an airport and is set for an early May release.

(Fellow American Idol winner Carrie Underwood wore very, very similar earrings to the 2007 Country Music Awards last night.)

Be sure to look for Kelly’s performance of “Never Again” on American Idol (Gives Back) airing April 25 @ 8PM ET/PT on FOX.

And Happy Birthday, Kelly! The multi-platinum pop rocker turns 25 in a week from now on April 24.

Kelly has a new drummer (Chris Deaner from indie band +/-) and he talks a bit about the "Never Again" music video

+/-'s Deaner Explains Kelly Clarkson Drumming Gig
"My first show with them was the Daytona 500. A nice intimate little show to get my feet wet."
Pinch him all you want: this is no mere dream. Chris Deaner, kit-man for Versus-derived electro-acoustic indie-poppers +/-, really is playing drums for one of the world's biggest pop acts.

As reported yesterday, Deaner follows in the footsteps of Mike Watt as the latest indie rocker chosen to help Kelly Clarkson remain hipster-friendly. Once just another guy in a band, Deaner will now get to stare at Kelly Clarkson's ass for 90 consecutive minutes, several days a week, before crowds in the tens and hundreds of thousands. Determined to find out just what that's going to be like, Pitchfork e-mailed Deaner for a quick chat.

Pitchfork: How did you hook up with Kelly Clarkson?

Chris Deaner: Her current guitarist, and co-producer on [Clarkson's forthcoming] My December album, Jimmy Messer, is an old friend of mine. We were roomates in college actually. Kelly's band needed a drummer, one that was used to playing with and triggring samples live, so he gave me a call.

Pitchfork: How long have you been in her band?

CD: Not very long. My first show with them was the Daytona 500 [on February 18, 2007]. A nice intimate little show to get my feet wet.

Pitchfork: Did you play on the new record?

CD: I did not. It was already finished when they called me.

Pitchfork: Are you going to tour with Kelly?

CD: That's the plan, I'll be touring and playing all TV performances.

Pitchfork: Are you playing Live Earth?!

CD: I hope so! What an amazing opportunity. It's a dream come true to be able to be playing music on something as historic as Live Earth. It gives me chills just thinking about it...

Pitchfork: Is your being in Kelly Clarkson's band going to affect your role in +/- at all?

CD: Unfortunately, yes. I am going to try to play all the shows I possibly can with +/-, but there is no guarantee that I'll be able to do all of them. In the event that I might miss any +/- shows (the European tour is an example), my friend Karl Lundin is going to fill in for me. He's a super great drummer and the other half of a two drumset band we have called Loudest Boom Bah Yea. (shameless plug)

Pitchfork: Is Kelly Clarkson as awesome in person as she seems to be on record/video?

CD: Yup. Maybe a little awesomer? She's exactly as you would think she is: grounded, funny, and very very very talented. Every time we rehearse with her I'm struck by how amazing her voice is.

Pitchfork: You mention that you're shooting a video right now. What's the deal with that?

CD:This time I won't be behind the camera at all, but instead in front of it. We are filming the video for Kelly's single, "Never Again". Should be exciting! I plan on geeking out quite a bit while on set.

In addition to keeping time for Kelly, Deaner has also been helping his ex-roomie Messer record some demos in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, +/- themselves recently remixed a track off the Rosebuds' latest, Night of the Furies. They have a DVD, collecting 12 videos and some bonus goodies and titled Self-Titled Long-Playing Debut DVD, out soon via original home Teenbeat.

Finally, the +/- European tour Deaner mentions-- in further support of 2006's Absolutely Kosher LP Let's Build a Fire-- kicks off (plus or minus Deaner) May 15 in Cologne; the band also hopes to swing through the U.S. East Coast in September with Japan's Moools.

When I heard this song for the first time I said "Oh my god"
It's like it's about me. Word for word. I was never a fan of her but I love this song.

It's funny how this song is played on Gospel stations. Interesting.

Kelly's thoughts on the Never Again song and her album

Kelly Clarkson On Her New CD & Her Favorite 'Idol' Finalist
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (April 18, 2007)

Kelly Clarkson spoke with Shaun Robinson from the set of her new video, "Never Again," opening up about her new album, a past love, and her new love for a certain "American Idol" finalist.

Kelly reveals that the new song isn't actually that new. "I wrote the song two years ago, and it's the first single from my new album 'My December,'" she says, adding, "It's probably the most bitter song I've ever written."

She admits that it's a classic breakup song about a real-life boyfriend she had, but insists it's not meant to be hurtful:

"I wrote this song like in 15 minutes. The [emotions] just came pouring out. But it's not meant to be spiteful or anything. Everyone goes through this kind of situation, and you just want a song you can get in your car and be like, 'Ahhh' to."

Kelly explains that the song is the beginning of a story that runs through the whole album, noting that it might take fans to a darker place than they're used to from her:

"They want 'happy Kelly,' and I'm a very happy person, but I'm a real person. It's reality -- I'm gonna show people the good times and bad times. The whole CD isn't negative, it's more of a story... and some of the story is kind of intense."

And while Kelly looks ahead to the next stage in her musical career, she doesn't turn her back on the thing that started it all. "I love the fact that 'American Idol' is so popular," she says. "Everybody always thinks I try and separate myself [from it]. I'm not at all -- I love very much where I came from."

And she's happy to be going back to the "Idol" stage for the upcoming "Idol Gives Back" special, which is in support of children in need in Africa. "They're focusing in on something that is so great," she says. "Of any charity, I think it's always great when something that big like ['Idol'] turns the focus for a bit."

But is Kelly too busy to actually watch the show these days? "Oh Lord, no," she admits. "We TiVo it at my house."

When asked to reveal who her favorite finalist is, Kelly begins by ominously saying, "I got to be honest with you..."

After admitting that she thinks Jordin Sparks is the best vocally, she gets to the fact of the matter:

"My other favorite is Sanjaya, I'm sorry. It's fun to watch him. Every week you're like, what is this guy going to do? And you're kind of embarrassed but at the same time you're just like, that's just comedy. It's funny."

And if he wins? "I think a lot of people would go see him tour just so see him on stage," she says. "He is a goober. I don't even understand it."

Says Kelly, "I can't wait to meet him when we go do the show."

From all the information gathered, it seems like Kelly is branching to a different direction in music, less pop/mainstream. The new music will be more raw (like MTV unplugged). She might lose a few fans from the new album, but she will gain fans from the rock/indie music side. This is good way to establish her career, not to limit herself with just pop music.

i was kind of disappointed with this song, even though i was very happy that she'll be having a new cd out soon

Yes, I notice quite a bit that this song is a mixed bag for the general mainstream listeners. it's either a love/dislike song. Since the song is really a stretch from other previous singles. Many whom listened to it for the first time didn't like it (including myself), but after a few times listening to it, it got better. Moreover, it's doing quite well on the charts and there have been many positive reviews on the song. That's all I can hope for Kelly's career right now.

On the Download

Split Ends was happy to hear the song this past weekend, but we’re glad Entertainment Weekly’s PopWatch blog pointed out that Kelly Clarkson’s new single “Never Again” is streaming online at music.aol.com. It may be another sad, angry Clarkson song, but it’s hot, and leaves you desperately awaiting her new CD My December. Clarkson once again packs some powerful lyrics. We give it a B+.

AOL was also streaming Avril Lavigne’s latest The Best Damn Thing, but we’ll save our thoughts on that for a more in-depth review.

Best. Kelly. Ever.

The Clarkson, not the Shoes…

My musical tastes are eclectic and definitely not cool. If you’ve ever seen me during my once or twice yearly Rotten-Robbie’s-dancefloor freakouts, you might have noticed out that I am also a HUGE Kelly Clarkson fan. The new Kelly Clarkson song “Never Again” and this Dave Aude remix are available at New Music Now. And you should get it now because it rocketh.

And then buy it when it’s released because it’s good karma, yo.

So Kelly Clarkson has a new song out, and yes this may be a couple days old, but I haven't had a chance to report on it...so there...lol

It's an amazing pop rock song called "Never Again" from her upcoming third album entitled My December.

I LOVE Kelly Clarkson!! I've been to a couple of her concerts and even got to meet her!! She was really nice....anyways the song reminds me a little of Since You Been Gone, in that, its a kind of revenge-ish, hate your ex, type song. BUT ITS SOOO GOOD!!!

Stars: 5/5

I love anything Kelly does, and cannot wait for her new album. I think she will capture the summer sales if she releases it soon. Otherwise, too late in the game, Britney could put her comeback album out, and she will be overshadowed.

HURRY UP KELLY!!!!!!!!

So here is the song "Never Again" enjoy....I know I do.

Kelly Clarkson: The original Idol returns

Chris Daughtry has established himself as a rocker with his self-titled debut album, but he should probaby start packing his bags to make room for the original Idol. Kelly Clarkson's new single Never Again from her upcoming album My December has just been released and it's pretty clear that she has no intentions of letting him steal her rocker thunder. She adopts a darker tone in this tune, check it out here. What do you think about it?

Article from MTV News...I highlighted the stuff that are related to Never Again.

'I'm Not Even This Open With Boyfriends!'

Kelly Clarkson On Her Revealing New LP: 'I'm Not Even This Open With Boyfriends!'
'I like Jordin Sparks. She's passionate and still not jaded,' singer says of this year's 'Idol' crop.

Hell hath no fury like Kelly Clarkson scorned. With her latest single, "Never Again," America's "Idol" sweetheart has cemented her place as the angry young woman in pop/rock, and it couldn't have happened to a nicer gal.

"People are probably going to be like, 'What happened to you?' " Clarkson laughed.

In the song, Clarkson takes an ex to task for cheating on her and marrying the other woman: "I hope the ring you gave her turns her finger green/ I hope when you're in bed with her, you think of me." If it reminds you of Alanis Morissette from days gone by, it should — "You Oughta Know" is an obvious inspiration, as are a few songs by a rocker from a pre-Alanis generation.

"I had somebody at my label say they didn't like it because it was too Pat Benatar," Clarkson recalled. "I was like, 'Now I really like it! I love her, and what's wrong with you?' I love any kind of rock chick who's just totally into what she's doing. What's funny is that we now think of her as a rock icon, but she was pretty pop as well. And I'm pretty pop too — I'm a rock/pop girl, which is cool with me."

"Never Again" almost didn't make Clarkson's forthcoming album, My December (see "Kelly Clarkson Blowing Off 'Bubblegum Ear Candy' On New LP"). She wrote it two years ago as a counterpoint to Breakaway's "Since U Been Gone" and "Behind These Hazel Eyes." Both of those songs and videos reflected her breakup with ex-Evanescence member David Hodges — with one song expressing her relief, another her pain — but neither was originally written with that subject matter in mind (they were tweaked to address it after the fact). "Never Again," though, was a little nastier than those two songs, so the singer shelved it, until she realized that it was the best opening to the story arc on My December. Plus, it rocks.

"I was in a totally different place when I wrote it, so it's weird to sing the song and do the video and have to get really into it," Clarkson said. "But it's a fun song, and that's why we kept it. It's just got such great energy. It's so blunt — I was so angry — and it reads so well, so we just went with it."

Clarkson is shooting a video for the track this week with director Joseph Kahn in Los Angeles. In the clip, she gets to haunt her ex. "It's kind of like 'What Lies Beneath,' " she said, referencing the Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer thriller. "You don't know if he killed me or if he's just being haunted by his conscience. Not to get all artsy-fartsy, but I'm all in white, everything is in white, because it's been ripped of innocence. Anyone who's ever been in love, when it goes bad — and sadly, everyone can relate in some manner — it just gets cold and it's hard to get past that."

Still, Clarkson insists that My December isn't a cold album. "There's more 'me' on this record," she said. "I had more hold on the reins because I wrote the entire thing. It wasn't planned like that, because I don't think you have to write everything you sing, but on this one I had a lot to say. I'm not even this open with boyfriends!"

She's also not that open with her co-songwriters, who she was too embarrassed to be in the same room with while writing songs like "Sober" and "Yeah."

"I'm really weird," she said. "I'm like, 'OK, I have this song,' and I'll send them the melody and lyrics, and then I'll ask, 'Can you build something on that? Do a lick or something?' But I can't just sit in a room and be like, 'This is me.' I have to spell-check 'me' before I send it to someone."

Clarkson was also embarrassed to admit that she didn't know who punk legend Mike Watt was before inviting him to play bass on six of the album's tracks. "Lord have mercy, I'm an idiot," she laughed. "I'm not that huge into indie punk — I didn't grow up around that." But once Watt was suggested to her and she saw him play, she "flipped out." "He's phenomenal," she said of the bassist, who has been performing lately with the Stooges. "I was like, 'Oh no, please don't be that indie guy,' like you're too cool for pop. But he wasn't like that at all. He was way humble — more modest than he should have been, because he's really talented."

Plus, Clarkson said, Watt's the perfect element to add to My December, as she tries to transition into being someone who's "way different" than what's on the radio right now — or even what's being offered on her former home, "American Idol."

"One of my friends wants the Sanjaya guy to win," she said. "Oh, man, he's crazy. I think it'd be funny, but I like Jordin Sparks. She's passionate and still not jaded."

But what she likes most of all — in her own music and in others' — is variety. "[Otherwise] it gets boring," she said. "That's when it's time to plug in your iPod."
