i don't think that it's weird at all. i listen to korean music and i just sing along with the words that i do remember and can pronounce... hehe. i think it's pretty awesome that a lot of us listen to 'other language' music. it just shows how diverse we are... and that's greatness! i am hmong by the way. if a lot of other nationalities listened to hmong music, i would think that it was the 'shinitz!' lol... i would be very flattered to know that someone else is enjoying 'my language' music.

Mmmm, not at all. I listen to songs in all these languages I can't speak.

Like Spanish (I can understand a little), Korean, French, German, etc. Though I might not understand the words, sometimes the way they say the words with the music it's something really unique to hear.

There's nothing wrong with listening to music in another language. Translations for there for a reason. =) Plus, music transends language boundaries.
I know a few people who thinks it's weird that I listen to Korean/Japanese music but I don't care. I like what I like, and you like what you like. Who are you to have any say or question what I'm into? Get a life.

Maybe because i listening to other languages too, but i don't think its weird at all. its kinda cool you can enjoy music despite a language barrier.it gives you a WAY GREATER variety of stuff to listen. plus their are some styles of music that countries seem to "master" better. like your k-hip/hop doesn't sound like the mainstream rap you hear on radios. I can only speak english, (and i'm not asian) but I listen to music in: japanese, korean, icelandic- not to mention stuff in english from other countries. i like my eclectic taste- and its great a lot of us on here are like that too

i listen to japanese, korean, chinese, spanish, italian and french songs and i still feel what the song expresses (even before i google the lyrics/translation). i love it!
and honestly, i don't care. its my CD, its my player, its my life! ill listen to whatever pleases me!

I dont find it weird. I think it's great, and shows how people's music tastes can be really diverse. And also, it allows you to try to understand the music in other ways than just the lyrics.
I'm English-Welsh, but I listen to Japanese much, much more than I listen to English. Why not? My favourite bands are Japanese.
I also listen to:
Chinese
German
Italian
Spanish
and some Croatian my friend sent me

Not at all. I think it's simply normal. I listen to Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and Thai songs and I don't speak a word in any of those languages. People usually think that when I listen to Korean or Japanese music, they assume that I'm a Korean or a Japanese wanna-be. But that's not the case at all. I just simply adore listening to their music because their music is more unique and different. So yeah, it's completely normal.

Veitnamese (I have veitnamese friends so yeah)
Thai (My mom listen to it so do I)
Hmong (it's my language)
English (I understand it)
French (my french teacher puts it on often)
It's really cool to listen to other langauges.

I don't think it's weird, there's more to music than just the lyrics. You have to give credit to all the people who plays the instrument and mixes the beats.
I listen to music to relax and sometime prior to my mood; I usually pay attention to the arrangement of the instrumentals, though not knowing the lyrics creates barriers that could limit the potential of a song to one's liking. For example, I don't like rap but oddly enough mild Korean rap is tolerable for me cause I can't understand it so therefore I don't pay much attention to it to begin with. This goes the other way around as well, sometime I wish I could understand lyrics to a ballad cause then it wouldn't be as boring and if the lyrics were meaningful enough, it could capture my attention.

it's not weird at all imo..Lol here in the Netherlands we have a lot of Dutch artists who prefer singing in English over singing in Dutch anyway

..(so we have a lot of English singing artists and stuff). But I guess it's different again when you listen to it and you don't understand the language, like I listen often to Spanish,Japanese,Chinese,Indonesian and ofcourse Korean music but I don't understand the words (except for a few that is)..But I guess I look up for English translations if I wanna know the meaning..
English is like my second language so I can understand all words..When it comes to French and German music I can understand most parts..
But I also like Dutch music btw, I think Dutch songs can be pretty good..

I don't THINK it's weird, but it feels weird to me. Like listening to English, Korean, or Japanese doesn't sound weird to me but listening to Chinese or Vietnamese is really weird. You know, like it doesn't sound familiar to me so I pay close attention to what they are saying and it just feels odd.

A lot of my friends bug me about it..
They always say it's wierd and how I can understand the song if I don't even understand the lyrics..
IT makes me kind of mad when they say it.. but oh well.
I don't think music has to be all about words.. Just the emotions are enough for me to call it "music."

It's cool! How can you say that? I am proud with myself because of this. Besides, it is DO helps me to teach my tongue to another language, and now I am proud with my Korean speaking.... ^^ Trust me, it's really full of advantages, don't care what people say...

Well, I listen to korean, japanese, chinese(mando & canto) and vietnamese and I only understand viet. I don't really find it strange, just because you don't understand another language doesnt mean u cant listen to the song. Sometime you can just guess what the song means by the melody and mood. But if ppl say I'm weird then I'll accept it too.

i'm a malay and i listen to korean, japanese, english and reggaeton. in fact, i barely listen to english songs nowadays. malay songs; not against them (why whould i be against songs in my own language anyway), but they all sound the same? i don't know. i think most of us here in soompi listens to songs in other language. and yessa, you do learn the language and even the culture as you go along. i don't know how learning a certain culture has got to do with listening to songs in another language, but yah. i just do.
