I've recently discovered the Japanese band "Ellegarden" and I've fallen in love with them!! It's a shame that they're an indie group; I can't find lyrics for them or aaanything *tear*

Ellegarden = <3
Yeah, it does kinda suck that they're still indie. It's so hard to find decent info on them! But there are benefits to that. No annoying fans or something. *shrugs*

Ellegarden is not indie..
they got signed onto the Dynamord Lable.
I'm so glad Soompiers are not bashing them T.T
every other board seems to be
saying they sound too american blah blah
SO WHAT?
I think they're awesome!
and they DO sound a lot like Simple Plan..
but Ellegarden is BETTER..
WHY?
because they're BIlingual!
Fansite in English XD

OMG! ELLEGARDEN IS SOOO GOOD!! LOL it's funny because i never heard of them but then my friend (Aya on Soompi) sent me Space Sonic and i instantly feel in love with them. They're english is sooo good!! I can't believe that they're not. Which of course is a plus, because bilingual people are cool. LOL I've been going on a downloading spree with their songs. But aren't they Japanese? They're not Indie right?

They're Japanese. The singer grew up in America which is why his English is so good

I love them! Their song Space Sonic got me hooked.

I was privilaged enought to see Ellegarden play last night at TT the Bears in Cambridge.
OMFG. If I were to die right now, I could die happy.
I was front and center, literally inches away from Hosomi Takeshi, close enough to get sweat on. There were like, 7 other bands, so Ellegarden only got about a half hour to prefrom. The set list:
00. The Sweater Song (Weezer) [warmup]
01. The Autumn Song
02. Space Sonic
~MC~
03. Red Hot
04. Marry Me
05. Good Morning Kid
~MC~
06. Mr. Feather (request from the crowd; and my FAV song)
07. Supernova
08. Make A Wish
After they all hung out and I got autographs and pictues with everyone. Hosomi-san is a real sweetheart and is really friendly. It was really a great time, and I wish I could go to another show.

yeah , i noticed the similarity to sum41 and things though , and after a while it all got too much for me . emo lyrics and all .
missing is still awesome , and i love the tunes etc for their other songs , but some stuff is just way too cliche for me right at the moment .

I never got to go see them in Mass.

It was supposed to be my "birthday present" from a friend but the jerk backed out at the last minute and decided to spend money on tickets for a crappy concert in MAY

I was so furious and no one else would go with me

I hope they come by again...
Thanks for sharing your pictures, Seno

Aww that must really suck Naux!! They came to NYC once, but I didn't get to see them cause my mom is really stubborn when it comes to school and she said no because it was on a school day. V_V I was so mad I mean I could've been there!! So yeah, I know the feeling! Gosh, I hate it when people back out of things at the last minute!! Its aggrivating!! But there's nothing to do, just wait to see if they come back to the US. which I hope they do! What concert did you spend your money on Naux?
Naux
Jul 28 2006, 08:14 PM
Nah, it wasn't my money. I didn't even go to the other concert. Wasn't invited

I don't remember what concert it was...But I know I didn't like the bands. They were definitely something new and crappy that was on the radio at the time, but I can't remember who it was...

Definitely not worth turning down the $10 Ellegarden concert, I can assure you that much
I really hope they come back sometime soon~ Hopefully we'll both be able to see them the next time they tour around here~

o.o their concert was only 10 bucks?? Wow that's pretty cheap for an awesome band!
So the concert was from a new mainstream band huh? I start losing interest in main
stream bands and songs sometimes just because everyone likes them because of that
one major album or one hit, but not all bands. I think I'll always like Ellegarden if they
stay the way they are, even if they become Main Stream. But yea, me too I hope we'll
both be able to see them live! And get autographs, pics, the works. =^^=

Ellegarden's new single, SALAMANDER (PV is up on Youtube), is set to be released this week!! 8/9!! It's a 3 track single, like Space Sonic, and after hearing Salamander, I'm sure the single is gonna be awsome.
They've also announced that their next album is to be released on 10/18 (aka my birthday XD no joke) of this year, and have also announces a monster Japanese tour spanning about 4 months.
my fav Elle songs change monthly, but the ones that hold the most special place in my heart are The Autumn Song, Mr Feather, Starfish and Salamander.

They seem to be fluent in both japanese and english.
The lead singer, Hosomi Takeshi, lived in California for a while (back when he was a salaryman), before he got into the musi business. While his english isn't completely fluent, he definately can use the language very well.
Hosomi-san has also said that the language of his songs are influenced by the music. So, most of the lyrics are in english. His english one their latest single actually has improved. <3 LOVE ELLE.
The new single is awsome, and you all should so listen.

Well, Elle's already had an american tour last spring, as part of JAPAN NITE 2006, where they toured around the country with bands like STANCE PUNKS, The Radio Carburator, The Emeralds, TsuShiMaMiRe and PE'Z.
But they have mentioned wanting to come back soon, and since they did release an American version of Riot on the Grill in March, it definatly seems like it'll be possible. However, don't get too excited, they have a HUGE all of Japan tour spanning October-March, so, it'll be a while before they're able to.

aww poopy!! Well at least they WANT to come back. I mean I know that last year they came to NYC in the Knitting Factory in Manhattan, but I wan't able to go because it was on a school day or something. But that was like Japan Night at that place or something. It might be what your taking about Seno, but ehh I gotta wait so its a bummer either way. Too bad they really aren't regulars. ^^ But then it makes it more exciting when they do come back!! Yeah I don't have enough money to go to Japan either, although I made a deal with my mom that shE HAS to buy me a ticket to Japan if I graduate High School with good grades . . meaning in Mom language "you better get 85 or higher in all classes" ::sigh:: which leads me to believe . .that I have to get the t9icket myself. because with the way I'm going right now, I'm starting to think it's impossible for me to get those high grades again.
