MUTEK, an international festival dedicated to new currents in electronic music and to the various mutations of digital creation, announces its 8th edition, to take place in Montreal, Canada from May 30th to June 3rd inclusively. This year, the MUTEK team is particularly pleased to announce that FLASHER.COM, a festival partner for the past two years, has raised their association to MUTEK's official PARTNER PRESENTER. With this new and exciting partnership in place, MUTEK now delivers the highlights of its 2007 program. Specially priced festival passports are now on sale.

An Important International Partner Joins MUTEK 2007
The MUTEK team is especially pleased to announce the arrival of a new presentation partner for the 8th edition of the Festival: FLASHER.COM. A web-magazine with head offices in Berlin, Flasher.com specializes in presenting important talents from the contemporary cultural scene to the world stage. From Berlin to New York, from Montreal to Sao Paulo, London, and Beijing while passing through St. Petersburg, Flasher.com offers exclusive video interviews with diverse artists from numerous cultural disciplines, whether they are directors, musicians, authors, painters or VJ's. FLASHER.COM's association with MUTEK underlines the Festival's creativity, as well as its urbanity and its admiration for the avant-garde. In return, MUTEK is consistently proud of the quality and the high caliber of its partners who, year after year, assure the strong foundation and continued success of the Festival.

MUTEK as a window to the world
Over the past few years, MUTEK has expanded its role as an important promoter of electronic music and digital creativity outside Quebec, often taking its showcases directly to the international stage. Coming strong off its most recent success in Washington DC, where the organization hosted the "Montreal Underground" showcase on February 24th to a capacity crowd at the Smithsonian (more than 200 people were refused at the door!), MUTEK already has plans for more special events in the near future: March 30th in Rome, at the prestigious Parco della Musica; April 5th and 6th in Lille, as part of the Festival of Electronic Landscapes; April 7th in Paris, at Point Éphémère.

MUTEK would like to thank its principal partners for this 8th edition: Flasher.com, the Conseil des arts et des letters du Quebec, the Ministère des Affaires municipales et des Régions du Québec, Tourism Montreal, Musicaction, the Montreal Arts Council, Canada Council for the Arts, Heritage Canada, the City of Montreal, the Consulat général de France au Québec, the British Council, Ex-Centris, and the Hôtel Godin.
