^^ She's a lab/greyhound mix. Her name's Missy. She's 9 yrs. old, but still as energetic as a young pup. Very protective and loving. She's family... my lil' niece since she belongs to my best friend.

No, the one on the bottom is Klaus. He's a Maine Coon and Chartreux mix. Is Wafe Maine Coon? Does he have long hair between his toes?

Nope, according to the vet, Wafe is a Russian Blue mixed with Persian. He's got white fur on the underside and on his four paws, and is considered a long-haired cat, I think. Not quite sure about long hair between his toes... I like Klaus' bushy tail, so cute!

Cats are the love. JJM, you should so get a cat!

Hrmm... I'm not an expert (I grew up with doggies!), but I recently became obsessed with the Maine Coon breed. And I have to say Wafe looks very Maine Coon-ish, not Persian. It's his long whiskers, hairy ears, and bushy tail. Does he also kind of have a "ruff" of hair around his neck and chest?





Heh, it's sooooo cute when he goes for walks. He trots along, stays on one side (I guess he "heel"s well in dog terms), and when he's tired of walking, he leads us back home and sits by the door until we open it.

i've met mal's cats... one of them has my name. my guy has a gray cat too, and they all tend to look alike to me... like big gray furballs. i actually think i might be slightly allergic.

Mmm... to be honest, I've never actually quite gotten a second opinion on what breed Wafe is. He does exhibit traits of Russian Blues - he's very shy around strangers and doesn't allow them to carry him. But I do see the similarities with the Maine Coon breed, especially the fluffy coat, and I think someone called him a "tuxedo cat", maybe referring to that ruff that's similar to the one in your Maine Coon pic.

I should probably confirm with my vet - the one who told me Wafe is of mixed breed isn't my regular one.

There was this scene from "Gone in 60 Seconds" when Nicolas Cage and the old dude at the garage (forgot his name) could tell what make, model, year of a car is from the sound of the engine. My bestie and I joke we can tell what breed, age, and sex of a dog just by its bark. Silly.

Dang, I must be the only one who has a big dog. I like large breeds. I used to have a Husky with one blue eye and one green eye. He was a monster, but a gentle giant. At 7 months, he was already 75 lbs. I had to give him away because I didn't have time to adequately care for him. The people who adopted him had two females and they were Husky breeders, so my big guy became the "stud service".

I think big dogs are great... just no space/time to maintain them

I'd eventually like to have a giant saint bernard or chow or some other big, cuddly thing...

This cat lives at my parent's place in Oakland, but she's one of the reasons I go home on some weekends.

She's about a year old and can be energetic. Likes to chase lasers and small objects, jumps onto tables and kitchen counters, can be nosy and will get close to observe what you're doing, likes being indoors and very shy towards strangers. Fun to have around.

I'm not too sure what breed she is, because her mother was feral. She does has a pretty high concentration of fur compared to some other cats I've seen.

Images are blurred because I'm using a camera phone in low light, so the shutter speed was really slow. If I decide to use my camera this weekend, I'll try to get some more photos.
