I don't even have a JO anymore! sighh..
but once i turn 15, i will x) i love how standards go down after 14.
and I'm a backstroker

yay for backstroke. 1:08 for my 100 short course D: can't break it!
and i still haven't broken a minute for my 100 free either

i swim for my school. i used to swim year-round except for winters.
i do the 500 and 200 free. sometimes the 100
i started when i was 14 but i improved a lot from there
my 500: 7:00 (too lazy even try to break it now)
200: 2:31 (i didn't even touch it at all this season)
100: 1:08 (broke my 1:12 after two years)
50: 31
i pretty much suck at strokes =(
i didn't try too hard this year because it didn't matter to me anymore. i'm quit competitive swimming after may 4th =D

I used to swim competetively, then I stopped when I moved to a new school. I really hate meets ><;. I still love to swim, though. I started swimming competetively when I was...14? Yeah.
My favorite stroke is Breaststroke, my worst is Backstroke, but my best is Freestyle.

Yay, I swim competitively too!
Let's see...I swim year round. lOL no such thing as an off season for us. ^^U
I've been swimming competitively since 9/ 10 years old...and it's been almost 6 years for me.
My favorite stroke is butterfly and backstroke. I'm an okay breastroker, but I really really dislike freestyle ( I suck at it lol ).
I also swim for my high school, and I'm really proud this year because we won championships and we're undefeated! <3
Sadly, swimming is a a really unappreciated sport here. T^T
I swim the 200 IM and 100 Fly for school.
My times really suck though, lol.
The rest of you are so fast! x)

58 low in the 100 free
2:01s in the 200 free
5:22 in the 500 free

I use to swim competitively for the town's aquatic club. Practices start at 5am in the morning and then i have school at 9am. the training was brutal i don't even know how i survived. we had to wear drag suits and swim lanes in them... and weights.
i did this for a few years until i had to stop due to shoulder injuries. i liked doing the pyramid, butterfly and freestyle.
i was on school swim team too, which made competition alot more easier

now, i'm trying to get rid of the broad shoulders and the thighs

hmm...i'm thinking about joining the swimteam this fall - how are the 'tryouts'? there are clinics right?
i mean - my friend said that an amateur can make it

, but she's been swimming since she was 4.
is it different for every school? or do i just...swim? >.<

well club teams normally accept everybody. they don't really have tryouts.
and if you swim club, making your school team shouldn't be hard at all

I do competitive swimming but stopped in mid-July this year . I stopped to prepare for a major exam . Pfttt , so I'm expecting myself to go back lifeless and slow ! Lol !
I started training competitively when I was 9-10 , but yeah , I wasn't serious until 12 . HAHA ! I only treated it as a keep-fit programme my parents were making me complete but erm , yeah , I only started taking competitions seriously when I was 12 .
There aren't any four seasons here in Singapore so we literally train everyday . Hmmm , during school breaks , trainings usually step up alot . Like maybe two sessions a day and all .
I peaked when I was 13-14 but my timings have been going downhill since then . LOL ! It's probably because the passion has died down . I'm starting to get tired ! Signs of buring out I suppose ? Hmmm . I suppose I'm alright in all areas but I usually take the 200IM and 100 backstroke events . My timings are like ..... bad but I usually qualify for top eight in school vs. school events . Puahaha .

I've gotten so much slower. I swear I'm going slower and slower every year. lol.
In 5th-7th grade, I used to swim for the town rec. team. The season was from Nov. to May.
I swam the 50 breast and 50 free.
50 breast: high 38 to low 39.
50 free: 31.??
I've been swimming for my school team from 8th grade up till now (11th), which only lasts from mid-August to first week of Nov.
I only swim the breast for the Medley, and the 100 breast.
100 breast: 1:24.09

I'm a swimmer

I've been swimming my whole entire life, but I took a few years off in middle school because I burned out. I started swimming last year again for my school's varsity team as a freshman. I'm still trying to get back into it, but my times are very slow. I'm hoping to make it to districts my senior year (I'm a sophomore right now)
50 free: 34.39
100 free: 116.08
100 fly: 124.54
I am so not a sprinter, but my coach won't put me in any distance events. I would LOVE to try the 200 free and the 200 IM.
It sucks though, I have really bad asthma and practices kill me =/

I joined the national YMCA team in high school, but i never made it to trials...
My senior year was my fastest year.
I used to swim 100 back; pr: is like around 1.12-13...
it was considered my best after the obvious 50...and my 50 pr: is 27.48 exactly.
i wasn't very good to continue my swim career..TT...but i still swim; for rec~
jliu6190 are you a girl or a guy?! your times are pretty good! esp. if you're a girl!

Lol, my school doesn't have a swimming team. T.T. I don't swim competitively but, I took and finished my swimming lessons in 6th grade. I remember when I used to go swimming every week, and would race my sister. She would always win because I was REALLY fat (lol). I don't swim anymore due to my laziness and I hope I still remember how to swim! Swimming helped my allergies a lot.

o_O Wahhhh omgd you guys are alll sooo fast!
I LOVE swimming, but I don't really swim competitively.
I've been swimming (like learning) since like 5 yeaars old and then I completed all levels when I was in like Grade 4 or 5? (not including the patrols/lifeguarding of course; not planning on doing those). But yeah, after that completing the levels, I actually stopped swimming for a LOONNNGGGG time until LAST year when I decided to join my school's swim team.
I figure I should really start swimming regularly, but I'm just a lazy bum.
Unfortunately probably won't be continuing on the team when school starts cuz it clashes in with tutor : (
However, I DO plan on trying to swim each week or something ^^
You guys are amaazinglyyy faast! 20+ secs for 50 free o_O and a bit past a minute for 100m!?!?

50 Free - 26.8
100 Breast - 1:16.xx
100 Free - 1:03 LOL Don't ask why it's so slow compared to my 50 free XD
50 Breast [relay split] - 34.x

our times for fly are pretty same!
i can go around 1:19 for 100fly if i use the starting block / have a good start LOL.
i love butterfly and i've now started to appreciate backstroke (i've always swam backstroke just cause everyone who swim it suck on my teams).
freestyle is alright as well
BREAST STROKE IS MY WORST ONE EVER. i swear i don't even move.
the whole suit ordeal has started to become so big especially after beidermann outswam phelps in the 200 freestyle? or was it 100.. i forget.. but phelps' coach BOB was talking (or threatening ish) to take out phelps from competitive swimming sport until FINA puts the ban on for good (it was suppose to be banned by jan 2010 but apparantly they're moving it further away).
i'm a girl, and i really really want fastskins ):
anyone know any other good swimsuits both for practicing and competitions?
i usually use dolfin uglies and speedo axcel / criss cross back. clubswim suits tend to stretch out too easily for me.
i'm swimming for my school varsity swim team and trying out for Cross Island Y barracudas (USS affiliatedd yay)

I'm not a girl, but I'd take the endurance suits for practice over anything.
I really really envy the girls in the suit ruling. They don't really lose much, we're getting cut off at the waist and knees.

I use to

training was very brutal, but i quit at 15

I never liked swimming? was pretty much forced by parents into swimming and then excelled into competition level.
I... regret quitting now, I miss swimming. Thinking if i kept going at it, dam I would've been so toned ._.
Favorite was breaststroke, lol simply because it was the easiest, fastest would be freestyle, and i hate backstroke and somewhat enjoyed Butterfly, it felt as if i was flying? LOL
