Synopsis:

Kyoko Mogami followed her true love Sho to Tokyo to support him while he made it big as an idol. But he's casting her out now that he's famous! Kyoko won't suffer in silence--she's going to get her sweet revenge by beating Sho in show biz!

Volume 1:
Kyoko knows she's not plain and uninteresting, no matter what Sho says. With the help of a little makeover, Kyoko's ready to exact her revenge. But first she needs to land an audition, and she sets her sights on the agency where Sho's lead rival works. Her persistence pays off, but her broken heart turns out to be a disadvantage. Kyoko has lost the will to love anybody, let alone fans she's never met. Can the agency see past this problem to Kyoko's true star potential?

I love this manga! It is funny and the storyline is interesting. It's not the typical girl likes boy.

^^ You're absolutely right. I absolutely love Kyoko when she's releasing her demons. And Shou too, ha! I so loved the scenes when he starts to get jealous of Ren and Kyoko's closeness.

I read this with scanlations, anyone does too?

Nope, I read actual copies. I have volume 1-15 (hooray for Chinese publishers). I don't really like the main guy though, he's not in there much anyway. I wish there are more romance in this....and not so much side stories....But it's still a very good manga and for once the main girl is a strong individual (she's so funny)

I hope V.G. stick around. I think they add a little twist to the story.

keke, I like it Not enough for me to buy it though...but it's pretty funny, I kept laughing when I read it at Borders today... I want to see the pink jumpsuit!

I thought it was refreshing, especially her REASON for going into showbiz...it's different from the usual boy-meets-girl and boy = celebrity story lines...

loved it, started reading the scanlation when it first came out, then got tired of waiting, so i read the raws in japanese, i believe all of the volumes that was out, forgot.. read it a long time..
haha, i love all of her works.. her main characters/heroines are all strong willed!

*coughcoughcough* Anyways, I'd say that if anyone loves Skip Beat, they should look at Tokyo Crazy Paradise. I love Kyoko in SB, and her little demons are the absolute love and hilarious. Although Shou just makes me want to smack him at times...*sighs*

I just read chapter 106 and its getting SO interesting. I love how the manga never seems to get boring or dragged out. I can't wait to find out what happens.

btw.....I think TCP is one of the best mangas i've read. I even like it better than Skip Beat.

haha I thought it was hilarious. I liked the overall story though some parts I could do without (like all mangas). And it was the first Nakamura Yoshiki manga i've read and I really liked her style.

just finished chapter 47 (yup totally new to this manga). I. LOVE. THIS. PERIOD. hahaha oh my god it's been soooo freakin' long since I ever read anything GOOD related to acting after, of course, Glass mask. And it's hilarious as well. I was like...laughing out loud whenever Kyoko is lost in her crazy thoughts lolz (i was searching "skip beat scanlations" on google and stumbled on this thread --> will PM the person above ) I love how Shou is totally a jerk but slowly he realizes his feelings for Kyoko, in a very realistic way (not in a, say, "oh my god she transformed into this beautiful girl so I must love her" kind of way). And of course Ren is awesome too
So, that's my ranting, because I just have to do it, somehow, somewhere

i started skip beat a few years ago (they were chinese translated), and i got pretty hooked onto it, but i had no more money to continue renting the mangas so is topped haha

Ren has fallen for Kyouko right? It's just he doesn't know it. I hope Kyouko falls for him. I can see signs of it. Sho is really annoying me. Hes decided now that he has done wrong to Kyouko. He took his sweet time. Also do you think Ren's dad is lying about Ren's mom being ill? Ren has some history.

Ren has definately fallen for Kyoko i think everyone thats close to him knows that (i love how yashiro always make fun of him for dat haha and the boss lol both of dam r such comic relief) as for kyoko it seems like shes relying on him alot but i dun think she realizes that she may have "sum" feelings for him at all... im not sure if u read 112 or not but when u do u can tell she definately does not want anything to do with love still ><...

as for Ren ya he seriously got sum issue dat part where we saw his past for a bit i was like O_o? and that one chapter when they were filming and he couldn't act that flash back of family thing wut was that? that seriously confused me...

as for sho i reeli hope kyoko doesn't fall for him again he doesn't deserve her after how hard he let her down... but hes character is becoming a bit better (less arrogant?) i give him props for saving her even though its his fault she got stalked in the first place haha

I've seen the raws for chapter 113. Haven't seen it scanlated yet.

I think the president did something to split Ren and his dad. I'm not sure. The raws are strange. I feel for Ren. Ren couldn't act the family environment because of his own experience. Also was Ren kidnapped under his mothers watch? I think thats the reason he hates her. I'm not sure. Sho is becoming nicer but hes had his chance and he blew it.

Anyway Ren is getting hotter! I would love to see an anime or live action drama of Skip beat! Yashiro is so funny teasing Ren like that!

I'm not sure about his mom because I read the raw for chapter 113 and its just plain confusing me! I can't read Japanese well only the easy stuff. The Kanji is too hard.

I think Ren got kidnapped as a kid and yeah the boss guy did take Ren away from his parents to build him as an actor because Ren didn't want to use his father's fame.

Kyouko and Ren need to get together soon!!! I agree so frustrating!

Yeah I wonder when she's going to find out he's Kyon or Corn! I thought it was so funny when she had pretend she was Kyon.

I had a Nakamura fever yesterday and the day before. I went and reread
for all the Skip beat vols i have in english again. And then the scans
up till vol 16. Then I read 17 vols Tokyo Crazy Paradise (read parts
of it b4 but didn't like it). It was great. I can see Nakamura-
sensei's art has become more mature and better. So to get to the
point, apparently, I'm still having the Nakamura fever today so i went
to amazon jp to search for some merchandise which i knew would not be
there and i found Skip Beat vol 17 which was released 10 days ago,
10/19. When i saw the cover, i was like eeeekkkkk!Ren and Kyoko again.
Woa, both of them are on the cover twice in a row! yay!

p/s: i'm dying to learn jp and read the original as soon as it comes
out >__<

this manga really needs a live action, i would faint or maybe die of happiness if i hear the news of it being made into a LA. It would totally rock! but then again, i don't want to be disapointed by the LA since i love the manga so much, hana kimi jp live action series was a super let down for me XP

the yahoo group called skip beat in the past used to release scan but now for some reason they forbidded scans in any language. that's just weird, it's a very sad news for me since i've only read 1st half of the translation of ch113 and i'm curious to know the rest though i already knew the most important part at the end XD (kyoko and kuu's conversation at the end of the chapter ~~)

i love skipbeat and im kind of afraid of it being made into a live action because i dun think any actor/actresses can portray the characters well (especially kyoko you wouldn't be able to see her evil beings in LA) and since hana kimi was such a let down for me as well id rather it being made into an anime! id watch it anyday haha
