I realize that not everyone uses the same ISPs and are in different parts of the world, but I thought it would be interesting to see what kind of speeds people get.


I know that my internet is horribly slow right now. Theres something with my internet and I can't figure out what it is.

So...post what kinds of speeds you have!

Do you have DSL? O_o I dont know about canada but in the US a lot of phone lines have a MTU in the line that causes interference... also broken filters... dirty lines etc can give you issues.

I hate DKYang's downstream.

Too bad my campus limits to connection speed by only using 10megabit/sec wiring throughout the campus. Craptastic.

Wow.. Comcast cable is getting real generous with their bandwidth (both up and down). Thats the highest I've seen for regular residential cable (particularly the upload).

I currently get 12000/768 and I'm happy with it. So far it seems like the highest download for residential cable besides the above example. Wish my upload was a little faster though.

You need to take a look at why your speeds are so low. That is WAY too low for Road Runner. It also seems that your ping to the speedtest.net server in Tampa, FL is awfully high. Are you sure you're using the closest server? Are you sure you're not downloading/uploading anything else during the test?

sniff T_T so slow compared to others..

You shouldn't be content with that. Something is wrong and you should get it looked in to. First thing I would suggest is contact Time Warner and troubleshoot why your connection is so slow. Your speeds can easily be 10x faster than it is now.



Your upload kinda sucks but your download is incredibly fast. It seems Comcast is giving some serious bandwidth to their customers. So far you have the fastest download speed for a residential cable customer. It's a good thing.
