BIO:''Singer Amerie is the daughter of a Korean mother and an African-American father who was a career military member. She grew up on bases from Alaska to Germany, meanwhile gaining an appreciation of the classical arts from her mother and of R&B music from her father. She studied dance from an early age and performed in talent contests throughout her youth. After her high school graduation, her family finally settled down in Virginia, while she began to attend Georgetown University, from which she later graduated with a degree in English and Fine Arts. While living in Washington, D.C., she met producer Rich Harrison, who worked with such performers as Mary J. Blige, and began developing demos with him. They led to a deal with Rise Entertainment and, in turn, with Columbia Records. In the spring of 2002, Rise/Columbia released Amerie's debut single, "Why Don't We Fall in Love." By the time her first album, All I Have, appeared that July, the single had reached the Top 20 of the R&B/hip-hop charts and the Top 40 of the pop charts. She also has her name in korean (에므리) tattooed on her lower back to celebrate her Korean heritage, and she has been known to give autographs in both English and Korean script. Amerie is also an actress. She can be seen in the movie First Daughter playing the character of Mia Thompson.

i bought the magazine with Amerie on the cover, when i get a chance (hopefully tomorrow) i'll scan the spread and all. she looks so pretty in her pics!...except for the weird orange lipstick haha

ah i love amerie! she's gorgeous and SMART (georgetownnnn dang T^T)!! and i love how she cherishes her asian culture too!

I think she would do better in asian countries then she does here in america. Personally, i don't like her. She is so bland. I don't like her new album either but that one song she had with Se7en and that was only because of Se7en. But she is pretty.

sorry for the lack of updates, Amerie hasn't really been in the news or at any paparazzi laced media places as of late. BUT i do have some good news

she's been in the studio recently and a new song is about to hit the airwaves! it's called FLY LIKE ME by Chingy and Amerie and it's the first single from his 'HATE IT OR LOVE IT' album.

--honestly i'm not too fond of Chingy..but i will say that i kinda like this song..his voice isn't as nasally and annoying as i remember it being..and Amerie's vocals add a sweet R&B twist to it.

I was a huge Amerie fan when she came out. I kind of grew out of her by her second album even though I did love Touch and 1 Thing. Thanks to a stylist at my hair salon who always plays Take Control of me I'm rediscovering her. I hope her company stops trippin' and releases her album here.
