Is this about how Edward left Bella? I think because this is in Bella's perspective, we can easily forgive Edward for what he did. I know Edward did it for Bella's own good and safety, but ... when he left her, it scarred her really badly. And Jacob had to watch her crumble to pieces! Jacob should be outrageously pissed off, consider the fact that someone that Bella really loves left her and made her this way. Who would want to see someone that they love be heartbroken? I think it's not really a matter of looking it at Edward's perspective. It's just... concern for Bella. How can Jacob be lenient on Edward when he was the reason Bella is so insecure and empty? You can't expect Jacob to look at Edward's perspective and forgive him, even if Edward did it for a good reason, because when it all comes down to it, Edward was the one who hurt Bella and tore her apart.

Bella doesn't look at other perspectives either. What I like about Jacob is he's the other perspective and that other provider for Bella. If you're talking about how she wants to become a vampire, then well, I think Jacob has all the reason to be stubborn. If the love of his life is doing something so reckless and so stupid, of course he would do everything he can to save her. It doesn't matter about Bella's perspective because it's more of the matter of her life at risk. And plus, he knows that he can provide the same securities and much more, and therefore maybe his perspective is preferably better.

As much as I like Edward, he has tons of flaws. And it seems that I'm more of a Jacob fan, but I'm actually an Edward fan. It's just nice to see things in another person's perspective, whether they are a hated character or not.

I don't think Bella has ever told Jacob how Edward feels about her conversion. All Jacob knows is that Bella insists on being changed. I think the way Bella explained it to him made Jacob angry. He doesn't really know why Edward loves her or why he wants to be with her, etc. All he knows is that they were together and her heart got broken. It's only when Edward provided Jacob with background information about himself and Bella that Jacob finally got the whole piece of the puzzle. He still wanted to fight for Bella, though (that's natural), but at least he could see why Edward did the things he did. So maybe it's because it was Bella who was telling him all those things, not Edward. Jacob didn't get the full picture to understand the whole situation. It's hard to look at another person's perspective when it isn't told from the direct source.

I actually get kind of irked now when this series is only read because of Edward Cullen. People overlook his flaws and think he is so perfect. But he isn't. There are so many other factors that make the Twilight Saga special.

Has anyone actually read Wuthering Heights?

I never really understood how Edward was similar to Heathcliff. The comparison between Catherine and Bella is quite obvious because they're both so selfish and undecisive. All I knew about Heathcliff was he was evil. I thought: Edward's not evil! So how does that work out?

Then I realized that it was more about the relationship between Healthcliff and Catherine that was similar to Edward and Bella's. Like Catherine, Bella has two options to choose: the easy way (the human life) and the hard way (vampire life, in which she has to leave her family and friends forever and outlive them). Unlike Bella, though, Catherine chose the easy route out: Mr. Linton. He was able to provide her with status and an easier life. Heathcliff was the harder choice because of his financial issues and his social status. People disapproved of Catherine being with Heathcliff. The same goes for Bella and Edward. Charlie disapproves of Bella going out with Edward and prefers her to go for Jacob. Also, the fact that Bella has to give up everything for Edward proves that this is the harder choice. Luckily though, Bella was smart enough to choose the person she really loved, unlike Catherine, who decided to go ahead with her selfishness and make matters even worse.

That's just what I think. What do you guys think are the similarities between Wuthering Heights and Eclipse?

I recently read Twilight (very late, yeah i know ) and i really like this book.
i was reading this thread, but i don't have the book yet at that time.
After read some reviews here, i think "Ow, this book seems to be good".
So, couple days ago i buy it but i just read it and YEAH!!! this book is so good. I have New Moon already, but not read it yet....

Am I the only one who can't decide what team she wants to be in? Seriously, I'm torn between the perfect dream boy Edward and boy next door Jacob. They're both sooo attractive in their own way. Lots of fans were disappointed when B+J kissed in Eclispe [DON'T BASH ME] but I'm not mad at Bella like most people. I was actually anticipating it because Bella wavered a lot so to my surprise, it's not that much of a controversial topic.


Is anyone going to the Breaking Dawn Midnight Release Party? If so, are you going to dress up? Or are you going there at the strike of midnight and just purchase the book instead of participating? At my BNA, we have a costume contest instead of Prom dresses. Though I'm not dressing up. If my parents had let me cut my hair, I would love to be Alice.

I think most people are mad because she cheated on Edward. Plus, she pretty much led Jacob on. I think the kiss, though, ended on a postive note since Bella realized who she loved and couldn't live without. But ... I think it's sort of disgusting and appalling how she went home to Edward and cried her balls out for Jacob. I can never forgive her for that. If I had a boyfriend that did that, I would be really upset. I would feel as though he didn't love me at all. Imagine how Edward must've felt when he knew she was crying over another guy. Again, it just makes it seem like Bella doesn't love Edward at all.

Then there's Jacob, who was always there for Bella. She abandoned him so many times that I feel sorry for the guy.

Some of the things Bella does or feel is justificable. But in this case, it isn't. It's just messing with two people, both who don't deserve it and who Bella doesn't deserve.

Speaking of spoilers, I want to ask you guys for a favor. As we saw with Eclipse (not to mention that last Harry Potter book), there is always the potential for copies of the book to be leaked early. My publisher is doing everything they can to prevent this, but there is only so much that can be done. This is the favor: if someone, somewhere, somehow, gets a copy early, I'm asking you to please not post any spoilers on the internet. And if you see something, please don't spread it around. Breaking Dawn was meant to be experienced in a certain way, and I would hate for someone to get that experience ruined by seeing something online they didn't want to see. My fans have been super cool about this in the past—last year in particular you guys went above and beyond to protect Eclipse until the release date—and I hope that we'll have the same positive experience this year.

If somebody does post a spoiler (and remember there will be a lot of hoaxes out there—do not believe everything you read: Bella gets eaten by a polar bear, anyone?), I'd love your help in getting them taken down. My publisher has set up a special e-mail account, bdcopyrightviolation@hbgusa.com, for fans to alert us to spoilers that appear online. PLEASE only send links to spoilers. E-mails about events, contacting me, etc. will not be returned.

Another thing you may notice close to the release of Breaking Dawn is that the message boards on several fansites will be taken down. They are doing this as a favor to me because I want to protect you all from stumbling upon something that could ruin the book for you. There will be plenty of time to discuss all the details of the book after August 2nd.
