i just read the first 7 chapters of BD
and seriously it wasn't bad

actually..i thought it was reasonable for her to have a love shield....cuz Bella's very protective of her loved ones....(as seen in Eclipse)....

and for Jacob's imprint on Nessie....i feel really dumb right now...cuz it was sorta "prefaced" in Eclipse too...

i can't work up the nerve to read the first 7 chapters. i think it'll be more rewarding reading it from the actual book. that being said, 2 more days!!!!!

i'd read the first 17 pages and it sounds just as good as how Stephenie usually writes so i'm really wondering how she could end it in the "rumored" spoiler ways

I think everything that leads up to the spoiled ending would make everything better

i was gonna read the first seven chapters but since i already pre-ordered my book and it'll be in my mailbox Saturday morning i rather just wait.

My sister was thinking about the same thing but apparently she ending up choosing to get a heads start on it... so by the time she gets the book Saturday morning, she'll already be on chapter 12 or whatever.

i read the seven chapters already. i'm still trying to get used to the whole new.... idea. i kind of don't like the fact that they dwelled on the sex part throughout chapters 5-6 though. i mean, young kids are reading this. headboards breaking apart, nightgowns ripping and pillows being bitten off aren't exactly very wholesome

and in my opinion, edward was much more desirable when he was a virgin. lol. (to me, at least.)

i was kinda of dissapointed with the 'sex' scene
like come on...
build up 3 books of tension!!!
like i guess it's aimed for young teenagers too...

i thought the sex scene was perfect. it hinted but kept it rated PG for the younger readers, but the older readers can read between the lines to know how wild it was HAHHAHA

I think I'm going to buy two copies. No matter what people say about Bella's power [reminds me of my favorite anime series : Sailor Moon <333] or Jacob's imprinting, I love this series and if SM ends it that way, I'm sure she has a good reason! If she didn't write for YA, Bella's power would've been more sci-fi like.. x-men ^^; IMO.

The books comes out in a more than a few more hours for North America and 2 and a few hours for the rest of the world!~

Jacob's POV was really entertaining! ...I'm still trying to understand Bella and her suddenly happiness with the little spawn...

This girl wrote a summary on Jake's POV (if you haven't read it yet) which pretty much sums up what happens. She did an awesome job. Thanks to _thirty2flavors on LJ.


Where we left off Bella and Edward had flown home because OMG she was pregnant with the monster of the Loch. The book cuts to Jacob's POV, where he's brooding over Bella's imminent death. We learned that Paul imprinted on Rachel, and that Quil refuses to date while waiting for Claire to age because he "doesn't see the faces of girls anymore" and also because Smeyer does not want any sexytimes going on. Jacob agrees that he doesn't see faces, either, because of his lurve~ for Bella, and the J/B shippers sigh.

He is also very bitter about imprinting. Very, very bitter. Bitter. OH JACOB, IF ONLY YOU KNEW THE TERRIBLE FATE THAT AWAITS YOU.

Anyway, Quil and Jake hear a howl, so they phase and hook up wiht the rest of the pack. Things start to get interesting. They learn Mr and Mrs Edward Cullen are back in town and they've said Bella is suffering from some rare South American disease and absolutely for no reason is Charlie allowed to see her, as she's quarantined. Jacob automatically assumes she's turned sparkly, and he is teh angst. He thinks the pack should attack because they've violated the treaty; Sam disagrees because Bella was a willing victim, so it's different. Also he just doesn't want unneccessary violence.

Jacob does, because he is angry like the Hulk.

He can't fight with Sam's amazing Alpha law, so he turns back into a human before Sam can make any orders and decides to go to the Cullen house himself, heart set on killing Edward (and anyone else who gets in his way). Did I mention he's angry? When he shows up chez Cullen, Edward comes out with a Gerard Way haircut and some guyliner, looking like a "man burning at the stake". Jake sees Bella being all sickly and deathly and bloated and pregnant, and she looks gross. Jake is all, OMG, WTF, PREGNANT, WHAT. He goes to speak to Edward outside to basically say "WTF ABORT THE CREATURE OF THE DEEP YOU FREAKS".

Edward explains that they wanted to, and would've even done it against BElla's wishes (...O_0) to save her life, but Rosalie is so viciously pro-life that she's deemed herself Bella's personal bodyguard, and Emmett won't go against Rosalie. Also, Esme thinks babies are cuddly or something, we know how much she loves them, so she won't help, either, and Carlisle doesn't want to anger her. Basically the Cullen men are whipped.

Jacob is like, EDWARD I WILL KILL YUO. Edward's all YOU CAN KILL ME, BUT PLZ WAIT UNTIL BELLA DIES. I think they even make a pact that after Bella dies, Jake will kill Eddie. It's, um, touching? Then Edward asks Jacob to offer to father Bella's children that she obvs wants if only she'll abort this one hidous freakmonster. Jacob is disturbed by the idea but concedes that sexytimes with Bella would not be the worst way to be a martyr. Obviously she refuses.

When Jake gets back to the pack, they learn about Nessie through readin' his ~mind~. Sam freaks out and thinks they need to storm the Cullens to destroy the baby -- and Bella -- because it's a threat to everyone in the area. Jake disagrees. A lot. So does Seth. Sam orders them to obey, and Jake decides to use his repressed Alpha-ness to ignore Sam's orders.

Anyway, Seth ends up joing Jake's newly formed "pack", much to Jake's irritation. Turns out when you're in a different pack you can't hear each other, so Jake and Seth are left alone to their thoughts. They warn the Cullens, and accurately predict that Sam won't attack while down two members and without the elemtn of surprise. Jake thinks the Cullen house smells bad. Seth is really over-eager.

Leah shows up eventually, because she wants to get Sam out of her head and because she wants to protect her bb brother. Jake and Seth complain about her presence because i guess everyone in the entire series hates Leah with a fiery passion. (She retorts "Unwanted? Man, I wonder what that would feel like!" sarcastically.) Ultimately she stays, because they need more peeps.

Carlisle does his Doogie Howzer bit with Jake a few times and Jake decides he likes Dr Cullen. Also there's talk of how mny chromosomes vampires and humans and werewolves have and Meyer shows off her grade 10 high school biology. MITOSIS AND MEIOSIS AGAIN GAIZ LOL

Eddie sulks, Rosalie hovers, Alice, Jasper and Emmet are surprisingly absent. Turns out Bella can't keep down food, so they're all at a loss, because even though they're all super clever vampires, they're totally stupid. Carlisle even says "I can't figure out what it wants!" and Jake thinks blood? sardonically, only to have mind-reading Eddie go OMG JAKE UR SO BRILLIANT.

SO they give Bella a sippycup full of O positive blood. She thinks it tastes deeeelish, and even one sippy cup is enough to restore some of her health. It's very magical~

At some point, Jared, Quil and Collin come over to talk to Jake, who is very much naked this entire scene, ladies. Anyway, they try to convince him to come home; Jake basically tells them to shove it. Jared relays a message to Leah from Sam that is possibly one of the assholeist things I've ever read, and I must admit my affection for Sam is dwindling a lott his entire chapter. (Essentially: he begs for her to come home using her old pet name and Leah flips her mini cooper.) Eventually Jared & co leave, and it's determined that Quil and Embry are on the verge of splitting off to join Jacob's pack too.

Then Esme makes cinnamon rolls because she feels bad that the wolves haven't eaten. It is very maternal. The Cullens wonder how the mini cooper they're goign to hunt when there are werewolves ready to demolish them. Bella sips her blood through a straw.

And so ends chapter 14.

The story, tbh is okay, but not the greatest work. Feels like I just spent $25 on a BAD fanfic.

I caved in and read spoilers, I don't care how bad it seems I'm still buying the book. Gotta read the book myself and finished it.

I mean, they really shouldn't spoil anything out of courtesy for Stephenie Meyer since she did ask her fans to not spoil anything for others... but some people, myself included, don't mind being spoiled at all. I guess to the people who are trying to save all this for Saturday when they get their books and such, they should just refrain from highlighting the spoilers... or just refrain from visiting any Twilight forums completely, haha. There are spoilers EVERYWHERE and sometimes, the spoilers aren't properly put in spoiler tags and such .




To comment on that... I think Alice and Jasper leave because Alice couldn't stand being around anyone who was protected by Bella's shield. From reading a bit of Chapter 14, it seems as though Alice gets headaches from seeing visions pop in and out of her head because of Bella protecting the fetus. Alice even goes and chooses to sit next to Seth and Jacob in order that she not think and see anything because she seriously was getting migranes and Seth and Jacob were like Advil/Tylenol to her But this is just my assumption on why Alice left but I think its sad that Bella's powers ended up kind of driving the two of them apart... and Jasper would leave with Alice because the only reason why he chose to stay with the Cullens was because Alice chose to.



Its probably because Bella learns how to turn the shield on and off because she ends up learning how to control it.

^^ yea I'm actually a little sadden that they leave because I love that couple so much
