I'm trying to savor my time reading BD. I am only halfway through and I really want to read some of the spoilers. so tempting, but I must resist! Knowing that it is an happy ending makes me feel that I know that I will like the book! Gotta continue reading.

Serious? Did anybody dressed up as their fave character?
I got mine at Borders for $13.49

Yeah there were a couple people dressed up. Alot of the employees painted their face white and a man even tried to do his hair like Rpattz as Edward. Haha, alot of the fan's made twilight tshirts, and alot had twilight tshirts on too. I was going to return my barnes and nobles $17 book and get one at Walmart for $13. But i was so far reading into it already i decided to just keep my barnes and nobles one.

Alot of people told me they weren't truley happy with this last book but i differ. I liked it alot. I only got a bit bored during book two, because that was Jacob's. Then again i didn't really get through New Moon as fast as the other books either. But i really liked how we got to see how the wolves communicated and Seth is so sweet. I especially loved how the whole wolves pack came together with the vamps at the end against the Volturi. Amazing. I didn't quite understand's bella's power, but i kind of got it... and at the end where she allowed Edward to finally hear, and see her mind, that was heart melting. Imagine edward's face..awww. Hmm... oh and i liked Carlie as Renesme's middle name rather than Nessie.. it was neat how Stephenie came up with her names. I wasn't very a fan of Rosalie.. i know she was the way she was because she always wanted a child but still it bugged me. Overall i really liked the book, and the whole series. I really recommend it to everyone who hasn't yet read it and i'm so looking foward to Midnight sun and Twilight the movieee!!! :]

Here's a Question and Answer thread from Twilight Lexicon regarding Breaking Dawn.

Hey, so really, no matter how pissed everyone is, you guys never had a choice. She had Breaking Dawn's image since 2003.

^^ yea, she also mentioned that in one of her recent interviews too that she knew exactly how it would end as she was writing Twilight
bitter SOOweet
a lot of my friends have been talking about these books.
i've never actually picked i up and read it but ierno, now this thread has kind of got me motivated to go buy these books haha.

if she knew that how she was going to end it. do you think that jacob was in the picture? cuz i dont think she was going to include Jacob in it before she signed the contract for a trilogy with little brown. then along came new moon and eclipse. which were probably supposed to be in Forever dawn. what would twilight be without werewolves/shape-shifters?
jessyjess
^^ yea now that you mentioned it, I remember her saying that she didn't think Jacob would have such a huge role SO I DON'T KNOW NOW
jack jack attack
I know everyone is reading Breaking Dawn right now, but I just finished Eclipse. (I wasn't too happy when I heard that Bella was going to kiss Jacob and that she loves him so I was reluctant to read it until now. dry.gif) Honestly, I thought it was okay. The beginning was kinda boring and because of my uh .. dislike towards Jacob, I was practically skipping all the parts involving him. It actually started getting interesting towards the end with that fight with Victoria. I loved all the Edward parts (can never get over how perfect he is) but hated hated hated the kissing scene between Jacob (skipped this part but I knew that it happened) and Bella right before the big fight and how at the end, she came to visit him and was confessing her love to him even though they can never be together. dry.gif I'm pretty sure I would've liked Jacob a whole lot better if he didn't act as one of Bella's love interest. Sorry, but I despise love triangles. I know that in New Moon, when Edward left, Bella was on the brink of insanity and Jacob was there to help her heal so it shouldn't be a surprise that she would actually feel something for him. But I just wish they would've just stayed best friends and that she loves him like a brother or something and not a lover. Now, I just gotta make myself read Breaking Dawn to see if she ever got over him because if not, I think it's always going to be a thorn in Edward's and Bella's relationship. I know a lot you feel different, but that's just my thoughts.
sweetiegrl168
hahahah wow there's so many black lines xD
i just bought the book today biggrin.gif can't wait to read it!
belle_kd1413
^

I certainly do feel a LOT different..

suki_*
I still think Nessie wasn't worth the whole trouble and that edward and bella would have been just as happy without her... then again without nessie there wouldn't be a breaking dawn... *sigh*

almost done the book it's still good but not what i was expecting.

I think what Stephenie meant was the end. Jacob being in the picture is sort of a smaller detail, but the bigger picture was already prepared, such as Bella and Edward getting married, Bella turning into a vampire, and Nessie.

Ohhhhhhh man, the book was really good.
But then.. wow, everything is a happy ending, after all smile.gif

yeah, that is what I thought too, I mean she knew how it's going to end (with Bella 'changed,' and the baby). I think that she intended for the story to be a 2-books series with Twilight as the first and Forever Dawn (which later changed to Breaking Dawn) as the second but then Twilight was so successful that Little Brown wanted her to write more so she added a little more in the middle, hence goes the story of Jacob and all that.

This girl was at the Chiciago concert and SM was asked (obiviously) some questions about BD. So spoilers ahead.

http://community.livejournal.com/lion_lamb...455.html#cutid1

I can't believe they didn't talk about the chromosomes part I hope they do at the LA one.
babieblue545
I think I kind of get an idea of why the book felt rushed to some of you guys. I mean, since the first three books are about Bella in high school, it makes the series develop more slowly. Of course, Breaking Dawn being the last book, Stephenie had to rush the whole transition of life after high school. I can't really blame Stephenie. She couldn't had made it into a five book series... That would be too much.
catch-22
I just got done reading Breaking Dawn last night.
And I have to admit, it did leave me breathless. laugh.gif
There were so many twists and surprises (very different from the other three).
I found it hard to grasp some things that happened in the book;
it sort of felt like everything was rushed and crammed into it.
However, I still love it very much since I got the ending I wanted
and also another addition to my "perfect ending" (Nessie).
I definitely felt the closure in Breaking Dawn.
Ax016
i just watched that youtube link for the Breaking Dawn teaser trailer like thing. and i really hope that renesme doesnt have ringlets like how she has in the book. cuz then she just looks like little orphan annie

i think she'll look exactly like Kirsten Dunst from "Interview with the Vampire" that was a good movie!!! but yeah every time i think of Renesmee i think of KD from that movie.
babii3xquiisit3
Breaking Dawn wasn't exactly what I expected, Nessie made me go "WTF",
and the whole Jacob imprinting thing made me go "WTF" even more.
I think the whole life transition thing for Bella happened too fast, I mean, she just graduated from High School.
Parenthood seemed very rushed.
I would have enjoyed reading more about just Bella and Edward smile.gif.

I think I was ready to punch the already in pain Bella for wanting to keep Renesmee, just because
she was putting Edward♥ through so much pain. Good thing she turned out cute lmao.

I definitely expected more out of Meyers - I don't know if I'm the only one who noticed the slight (very slight)
change in writing style...the words didn't sound as pretty in Breaking Dawn, lol. Even though there
was closure in the last book, I felt that it was too much.

Don't get me wrong though, I DID enjoy reading the book, but I guess I approached it with too many expectations,
and some just weren't met.

sweet_treats1812
^i kinda get where you're coming from. i too noticed the subtle change in the writing style, and even in just the way the whole story flowed. it seemed like there came a very weird turn to how the twilight series ended up. not that it was all bad; i could hardly put the book down. it was still very interesting in it's own way, but i just also felt like something was a little off...

i would have wanted to have just bella and edward in the story without renesme (geez, even after reading the book i still cant decide whether i like the kid's name or not. i like the second name though: carlie). but then again, i suppose you can say that the kid's part in the story was essential in the sense that she gives a very practical way for bella to become a vampire. otherwise, bella would have been dead. but still, she could've just become a vampire by having edward bite her...who knows...

and oh my goodness!!! jacob! i never really liked him in the first three books but his character in BD took a very drastic turn...i almost didnt recognize him for the jerk i always thought he was. and i do not like how he imprinted on bella's daughter! geez....that was totally, totally weird for me...nooooooooooooo~

otherwise...it was okay, i guess~ i would have wanted something a bit different....but....i don't know....maybe i'll read it again and think about it some more...overall though, i had fun reading it~

Hey you guys!

I just got back from the Breaking Dawn Concert here in LA.

It was FUN! The Q&A were interesting and funny. One of my favorite questions was "Would you have done another change of Point of View in Breaking Dawn." (Or something like that). SM would've done a Alice point of view! Ah man I would've wanted that!
ALSO! SM the Twilight movie already! Well it isn't the final one. She said "If I was in the theater watching the movie, I would buy another ticket." ;]

Btw Catherine Hardwicke was there! I was 5 feet away from her! I couldn't get her autograph though. =[

juiceybox
Renesmee was such a twist to the plot! I didn't see the whole 'Jacob imprinting to Renesmee' thing coming either.
I loved how Bella could show Edward the best parts of her mind at the end of Breaking Dawn. xD

ok so i just wanted to ask a quick question to anyone who has finished reading breaking or is halfway done. should i even continued to read it b/c i'm already done with book one is it even worth it?
babieblue545
^I think it is. But there are mixed reviews about it, so it's up to you.

Anyway, here are interviews with Stephenie! BE WARNED: THERE ARE SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THOSE THAT HAVEN'T READ IT.

I finished the book on tuesday--- I would of have finished it earlier but I took my merry time because it was the last book... I'm so sadden by it... I really love the book, anyone else?
I hope that SM will write a book on Jacob and Nessie.

I dont know about you guys but I really liked Breaking Dawn. For once I did not dislike Bella, I felt like she matured in the book. And... I have to admit that I fallen for Jacob Black.

I honestly could not put the book down towards the end.

Could someone clearify this for me;

-What did Bella ask Rosalie to do? And why?
-So Bella is basically... undefeatable? (spelling error?)
babieblue545
^*hint*hint* Rosalie was always growling when someone went near Bella. She did it because Rosalie also wanted a child and knows how it feels.

Bella can be defeated because people can still physically attack her (For example, one of the Volturi guards saw how Alice and Jasper were easily able to get into Bella's shield).

Edit: You know, I actually find it funny that most people in this thread try so hard to defend the first three (or Twilight or Eclipse) when someone expresses their dislike toward the series. However, when Breaking Dawn came out, all of a sudden, it's supposedly okay for everyone to start hating the final book, but it wasn't and still isn't okay when someone hated Twilight, New Moon, or Eclipse.

I think for now on, we shouldn't tell people not to express their opinions and get out of the thread or something because most of us are hypocrites.

Just read it so you know how it all goes down.

this sorta reminds me of the godfather trilogy. how the first 2 was unbelievable and made movie legends of themselves and the third was such a huge disappointment. i treat it the same way. i read breaking dawn and i read the first three again to ease the badness lol.
heylove
Breaking Dawn was, unfortunately, a huge disappointment in my opinion. Bella has always been a character that really annoyed me, and now in this book it just pushes that even further. She is such a DAMSEL. Seriously. One second it's, "oh edward, oh edward." And the next minute, she's gushing all over Jacob. She keeps leading him on. I have never felt such distaste towards a fictional character in my reading career. Although the whole pregnancy situation with wanting to keep Reneesme annoyed me as well, I can sort of understand how she feels. It's hard for a mother to give up her baby made from her and her true love.
The beginning was unbearably long, I fell asleep reading chapter 3 in broad daylight. I was at chapter 7 and they already had sex three times (probably even more before that.) I felt as if the plot horribly simple, but stretched out to describe every insignificant detail. Does she really need to repeat things over and over? I started getting pumped when Alice had a vision of the Volturi coming, although it was fairly predictable. I just thought, finally after 500+ pages, there's actually some action. In the end, she spends another 100 pages throwing in more undeveloped characters, and there wasn't even a freaking fight. All they did was stand on a plain and talked to each other several feet apart.
The whole situation with Bella as a vampire was just weird. Her new attitude was fairly irritating to read as well.
mayoh
I finished the book on wednesday.. and unlike a lot of people, i actually liked the book. (:
I've read that it was an "epic fail" & "it's like a fanfic, UGH"
But whatever.
The ending was great. It was bound to happen right?
They are meant for each other... so yeep.
And now i'm as excited as ever for the Twilight movie!

You misread Bella's intentions. She was only being attached to Jacob because of Renesme. I'm pretty sure you read the part where Jacob imprints on Renesme. So it makes sense that Bella got clingy to him all of a sudden while she was pregnant when Jacob came around to visit her. So she wasn't intentionally leading him on as she was in New Moon or Eclipse. I actually also think that she has matured when she became a vampire. She isn't as annoying as she was in New Moon or Eclipse.

I don't understand why wanting to keep a child annoys you. If someone else was doing it in real life, would you be annoyed? I understand you dislike Bella, but don't let it get to the point where even real-life situations such as keeping a child annoy you.
cee.jay
Personally, I enjoyed Breaking Dawn.
I actually got spoiled by someone in this thread who BOLDED their spoilers without using the tag *cries* the night before the book was gonna be released in Australia.
Sure there could've been alot more clarification and what not but the Twilight Saga was always Stephenie Meyers world and I think we're really privileged to be able to enter her world (does that make sense?)
I was SO shocked about the spoilers and I was like damn...its gonna be crap but as I read it, I liked it lol.
I really loved reading Jacobs POV!
His cracks at Rosalie were oh-so funny!
beckyvang17
so i finally finished the book today Friday..i know it's been a week, but i thought i should read slower because it's the last and final book. i really thought Breaking Dawn was good though. i absolutely enjoyed it.
i was just a little irritated with the fact that jacob imprinted on renesmee, i was like WTH?
and even though i know that edward and jacob wanted to help save bella from the her baby that was killing her inside, i felt that she should keep it rather then let carlisle take it out. so yeah i was glad that rosalie helped bella keep her baby. even though i was like how in the world did she get pregnant? i thought it was impossible, but then i thought again that maybe it only implies on the couples being vampires who can't get pregant, where as bella is human and edward obviously a vampire that could still conceive.
But yeah, before i totally disliked jacob, because i've always been rooting for just EDWARD. But after reading in his perspective, i understood a lot of what he went through and is going through with his pack
Also for Bella too, i always thought that she was very immature especially with edward and jacob going from one to another, but in breaking dawn i felt as if after she became a vampire she matured a lot more.
--But overall i enjoyed reading "Breaking Dawn" it's certainly my second favorite after Twilight. smile.gif

i personally loved breaking dawn <3
the explicit scenes i thought was the highlight of my day hahaha
it made edward sound 100x more sexier than before lolololol <3
i was reallly surprised when bella got knocked up, i mean cmon, VAMPIRE?
but i got over it. i actually wanted more scenes with just edward & belle
but the child got in the way D; curly hair??!?? ohhhmyyyyy
how jacob IMPRINTED ON HER?? WTHELL DID THAT COME FROM? LOL kinda gross ..
i wanted edward & bella to be focused together as a couple, just the way everyone wanted it
they sounded SO much older than 17/18, you guys know what i mean right?
i felt that the whole marriage and baby events happened to fast and that it was rushed :[
i saw the previews for breaking dawn movie and OHMY, im sorry, but im so addicted to the explicit scenes
with edward and bella! im not a pervert or anything, but its just sooo romantic smile.gif
its like FINALLY! edward was soo careful in the other 3 books and i was like, cmon alrdy, get to it!
the whole action thing was stupid lol they were just there talking in the plains with no battle going on
my favorite scenes were the sex scenes and the end when she lets edward see all of their memories together<3
i really cant wait for the movie, robert pattison<3333333333333 HES FREAKING SEXY! HAHA smile.gif
`bigtymer
lol, i was surprised when jacob imprinted on nessie as well =P
but there's nothing wrong with it...he's more of her protector right now...no romantic feelings involved.
and it sorta happened with quil right?
sorry claire, nessie just took over your record for youngest imprintee XD
