i believe i'm a sick person huh?

i know its not so hard to think of the negatives and the flaw of the book/her writing but yes like you've said i'm looking at it in a different
light? i've pushed basically everything everyone has thought of *the negatives* and set it aside to appreciate the story more. its not your typical romance story, and yeah maybe its not too realistic on a couple of things ie its also a sci-fi. i'm kind of trying to see inside the author's head if you get what i'm saying? i mean its so easy to depict and critique whats wrong from the book *obviously* but at the same time i'm trying to see the story from the author's way of writing and thinking. why did she write this? to why did she put this in here? and just the simple questions. i know its kind of foolish to think i can decipher what the author was thinking when she wrote this trilogy but hey, i'm looking at it in a different
light?
Actually, I'm not quite sure how the re-introduction and expansion of these themes (incest and pedophilia) contribute to the actual flow of the plot other than by throwing in some random-out of character-WTF! O_O plot twists in Breaking Dawn. I don't think that there would be anything of substance in books that would follow Jacob/Nessie- just another over-dramatic love triangle with different characters and probably a lot more random crazy powers (since Meyer seems to not follow her own rules anymore).
Meyer has said in interviews that the fourth book would explore "different kinds of love"- something I think is rather nauseating because there is already a population of moms teaching their girls to have an "Edward standard", the books obviously have a huge pull and influence at the moment, and therefore whether I like it or not is changing the definition of "love" for some people. So to teach that it is perfectly ok/norma/a manifestation of true love to be claimed by someone as an infant then raised by that person until you are physically mature (not mentally mind you) when you will then become that person's sexual partner/mate-is in my opinion digusting and rather shocking considering that the author is a mother herself.
EDIT- Personally judging by the themes of the book, I would much rather NOT try to hard to figure out what the author's motivation was because it just really paints a negative/sad pitcure of the author and the psych student in me could have a field day with it and I have things to study for.

midnight sun is basically book 1 twilight - but told from edward's point of view instead of bella's.
midnight sun was leaked online and stephanie meyers is current halting the project i tink
she posted like half the book online on her website.

I thought Midnight Sun was all of the books put together from Edward's point of view. I remember Stephenie saying something along those lines because she couldn't make a reflecting book for new moon (it would be really depressing and dark ... and short).

I like that typical high school love story in twilight. Edward and Bella: perfect couple.
I gotta admit I had no interest in vampires until I watched Vampire Knight and then I thought about twilight so I've decided to read it. Even though I'm not finish, I will for sure!!!!
I can't wait until the movie is out

Seriously, has no one brought up the whole "Claire" and "Quil" name issue? Clare Quilty was the monstrous pedophile from Nabokov's famous "Lolita." He stalks the young Dolores (Lolita) when she's a young teen and she eventually runs off with him because she thinks she's in love. It turns out, he was just another pervert and he tries to force her to do a bunch of sex films.

So, yeah...as soon as I read about Quil and Claire in Meyer's book, I raised an eyebrow. Strange.
-ginger
It was brought up numerously on the Amazon boards. I go there for laughs because the Dark Siders are ridiculously funny and they do bring up a lot of good points (on how horrible Breaking Dawn was).

Yes it IS one of the best Vampire Books I've read. I've deeply fallen in love with EDWARDCULLEN! Not even KIDDING. Althought the last book.. eh. I didn't like it so much. I liked.. Eclipse and Twilight the best. New Moon was kind of BORING. But in that one. I liked how she had the pages "november, december, january" haha. that was funny. I think.. O____________O

i don't want to go into too much detail but simply put "i don't really mind"

. i guess its just me. i mean i totally get where you're coming from and going with this but it doesn't really bother me, hence my earlier comment
i believe i'm a sick person?
i rather have other people like you for example *no offense* do all the talking and analyzing the book while i've done enough of that

. if i was to go into more detail to add with what you just posted believe me there wouldn't be no stopping me but i took the high road

. i just simply ignored all the negs and try to appreciation the story and Meyers writing/thinking. yes, i agree when i finished the trilogy i wasn't jumping up with glee and obsession over the book. the ending and overall last book-Breaking Dawn did crush my view of what was going to happen and blah, blah, blah but i simply shrugged it off. its like expecting something good to come to you but sadly it puts you down nonetheless i'm not going to throw a tantrum *not meaning you or others just my example* but i have to say i like reading all the critique's made from others and you of Meyers writing down to last words of her story. and yes, i am quite interested still in pursuing my earlier
quest lol i like to call. i don't really mind, people have their opinions and way of thinking. i guess i feel kind of bad for all the bad rep the story and Meyer is getting so yeah i am defending Meyer because no one seems to and i think this thread has gotten quite interesting with all the different views. i find it fun

have read that she put it on hold because of some sort of leakage of her drafts of the midnight sun and it was all over the internet, sort of intellectual property violation thing which is definitely true..and she's currently working on another project..but she promised to finish the book and share to all of us edward's thoughts and ideas..

3 Doors Down - Your Arms Feel Like Home
I think i've walked too close to love
And now i'm falling in
Theres so many things this weary soul can't take
Maybe you just caught me by surprise
The first time that i looked into your eyes
There's a life inside of me
That i can feel again
It's the only thing that takes me
Where i've never been
I don't care if i lost everything that i have known
It don't matter where i lay my head tonight
Your arms feel like home
Feel like home
This life aint the fairy tale we both thought it would be
But i can see your smiling face as it's staring back at me
I know we both see these changes now
I know we both understand somehow
There's a life inside of me
That i can feel again
It's the only thing that takes me
Where i've never been
I don't care if i lost everything that i have known
It don't matter where i lay my head tonight
Your arms feel like home
They feel like home
(hold on, you're home to me)
There's a life inside of me
That i can feel again
It's the only thing that takes me
Where i've never been
I don't care if i lost everything that i have known
It don't matter where i lay my head tonight
Your arms feel like home
They feel like home
Just thought I'd share.

I got my mom into the Twilight series, she is srsly in love with it. Yay! I was at Borders the other day buying the Bella and Edward poster and sooo many people were talking about the Twilight series and many people were stopping outside to point at the huge supply of Twilight books on the inside, haha. The books are too addicting.
My friend works at Hot Topic and she said all of the Twilight goodies come to them. She didn't specify what it was because she's not allowed to, but she said they're really awesome.

i loved twilight and new moon was alright (but edward came in far too late) and after eclipse, my respect for the book has dampened.
i hate bella- i think the author has gone too far in her pursuit to make the protagonist the centre of everything. bella was a character people can relate to in the first 2 books, but has now become a greedy and selfish character that is not the realistic in the least.

I really loved this saga! Took a little while to get into in my case (took me a whole week to read twilight! but 4 days to read all of new moon, eclipse and breaking dawn).
The storyline and the characters are just so lovable....its so depressing to reach the end of the saga....i wish Stephenie Meyer would finish writing Midnight Sun sometime soon...such a pity about the leak and how it upset her...but at least there is the movie to look forward to...
as for midnight sun...not sure about everyone else...but i kinda wish she doesnt end it at the end of twilight...i wish she would write from edward's perspective till after his return in New Moon....in that way...we can hear his thought and find out what he did in his absence...lol...or maybe she should just rewrite the first 3 books from edward's POV *wishful thinking*

^^^ you can see part of New Moon from Edward's perspective on her website.
She did the portion where he finds out from Rose that Bella's dead and you see it all from his perspective. Part of me wants to see all of the books form his POV but New Moon would be scary from his POV. The one section that she posted was super depressing and dark and sad. You seirously want to cry for him because of the pain that he radiates from missing. 100 times more than she hurt.
