I really want to read it!!
I found Twilight and Eclipse here in Uruguay's Bookstore but they don't seem to have New Moon!
I'm planning to buy them when I have the money and gonna ask if they have New Moon cuz I really want to read it!

I just finished Eclipse (at last) and I must say that even though Edward is perfect I like Jacob better. But of course Jacob is going to find his soul mate, which would be sad.
Overall- I think her writing is too simple and annoying at times. I had to force myself to finish Eclipse and the only interesting part of it was the ending.
There's only two more books left right?

KYAAA! I can't wait for Midnight Sun and Breaking Dawn to come out! ^_____^
I read somewhere that they're going to make a movie out of Twilight and the other books, but I really doubt that anyone will be able to match up to Edwards good looks.
I adore Alice. ^__^ I think she's really cute and nice. ^___^
I love Carlisle too. xD

So true.....
LOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEEEED Twilight! New Moon was ehh... 'til the end with Edward. Still needing to read Eclipse.
My Bella Rant - "Don't kill me"
New Moon was kinda draggy, I don't like Bella at all, she way too overly obssessed with Edward and she gives me this image
of a weak character. In New Moon she was soooo annoying, it was Edward this Edward that and going as far as thinking suicide to hear
his "voice". WOW, that's pathetic, I'm sorry but that is... I can't stand her, her decisions/actions and her dialogue just throws me off.
She needs to get a backbone, sure she's brave or whatever to leave for Italy and in Twilight with James, but still when it comes down to
Edward, her actions are overexaggerating. She's pretty imature for not accepting Edward's proposal in New Moon, she wants to spend
eternity with him so she's not gonna live to see 30, what's wrong with a commitment compared to a commitment for eternity? Aren't they
like the same thing? I think she should get with Jacob and Edward can go find some other girl... Maybe I think this way cuz I'm not like her
I'm a more independent kind of chick, but moving to Forks isn't she suppose to be one since she didn't have much friends in Phoenix? She's like
Edward! My world, my savior, my knight in shining armor, save me love cuz you're so perfect. And I'm just like damn just shut up I get it Hmm... maybe the movie will change my thought overwise, but I still don't like her. But what made me love the books is the storyline, Alice is
probably my fave character and Jacob is cool too - I don't understand why people dislike him... well I'll probably dislike him too if I like the whole
BellaxEdward thing.

Oooh, I love the 'Twilight' series!
Personally, my favourite is 'Twilight' because I found 'New moon' to be sort of... draggy? :X But nonetheless, all the books have a great plot. (:
I can't wait 'till 'Breaking Dawn' though. (:

LOL im the usual bookworm and after i read Twilight i was like O___O wow...! it's probably the best series out there in my opinion anyway...I'm currently into New Moon...and I agree it is a bit depressing in the beginning...especially because all Bella does is mope around...but I think it's still amazing...I wish stephenie can finish off midnight sun! i would like to see what edward cullen's side of the story may be like ;D. Actually i read the first chapter online and I am HOOKED!

i was sick at home and i just read the series in 2 days

they were REALLY good, i was hooked right from the beginning! i've always had a weird fascination with vampire stories (nothing too intense) so i just loveed the serious~ i agree, the author's writing style is simple but it made it easier to go through all the pages, even though they seem like nothing when you're passing through the story! edward was my favoritee character, he was awesome, and i can't wait for midnight sun! bella, i liked but didn't like at the same time. it wasn't her obsession with edward but her connection with jacob. haha, i didn't like jacob and i didn't like how she fell in love with him-gahh that just ruined it for me. i was hoping to read about their wedding and about her changing

and i wish the last chapter of eclipse wasn't about jacob but more bella-edward. haha i'm all for the main characters! well i loveed the series anyways and hope the movies are just as good!

Wow, this series is popular! I tried reading Twilight because of its popularity on Soompi, but I had a hard time getting through it. I had to finish it because I started it, but it was so boring! Plus, the writing style is so flat and undescriptive, and I hate it when books are in first-person.
Also, it was hard for me to imagine Bella and Edward falling in love so quickly. It's like WHAM in the face, they're madly in love, and I really couldn't see the chemistry. And isn't Edward like a great-great-great-great grandpa to Bella, age-wise? Gross! Haha, sorry, my two cents
I wonder the age range of the readers here? It's just that the style seems to be geared towards.. like 12 year olds.
One thing I'm excited about is how the author is going to write a second-part Twilight, from Edward's perspective. I read a chapter on her website, and it's awesome!

^ Yeah, I think I'm weird.. I have heard that most of the series' readers are not young adults but older. So no one else thinks the writing style is dull? (I mean, I'm like an avid Harry Potter fan, don't get me wrong, I like young adult books. But Twilight's writing seemed so undeveloped.

Well of course everyone has their different tastes in books.

Jan 21 2008, 06:28 PM
^ the writing does seem a little too...simple (?) but i just read it for the sheer romance..sort of the reason why we watch dramas...the material isn't very innovative but it's heartwarming anyway.
ok so i'm wondering why i haven't even heard of this series until like, this past weekend and when i go to barnes and noble yesterday, BAM; shelves all of a sudden lined with a book published 3 years ago
i finished them in like 2 days and now i hate the feeling of waiting until October =[[[[[[
this is just my guess, but i have a feeling the ending is going to be tragic; i REALLY don't want it to be, but it gives me a bad feeling that they've planned it all out(her marrying and then sleeping with him and then turning) which usually means those plans never turn out the way they should. If somehow either of them dies or bella doesn't turn into a vampire, or she ends up with jacob, it would provide an appropriate, bitter sense of closure. I mean, the thing with Jacob isn't impossible. After all, they do mention that he was meant to be with her if nothing unworldly had ever entered her life. And she is able to grow old with him. And she would be able to have kids, and grandkids. If the author is really mean, maybe Edward would even have to watch her whole family be born and then die, one by one. And from the way Eclipse ended with Jacob's p.o.v, he definitely is going to play a MAJOR part in book IV. It just seems unlikely that if Edward and Bella are really going to end up together as planned, Meyer wouldn't focus 3/4 of the saga on Bella's human life, if her life as a vampire with her "destined" one is really going to happen. That would only mean the beginning of a whole new story. And also it's a little foreboding how Midnight Sun is supposed to be in Edward's p.o.v; it sems like either Meyer is giving him a chance to tell his point of view at the very end because he has died, or he's telling the story of how his human love died (prematurely or from old age) and how he chose to go on living, or was forced to promise Bella that he wouldn't do anything like that. i don't think the author would reuse the old idea of him committing suicide in italy.
liquid guesses though; i hope i'm wrong

Jan 21 2008, 07:00 PM
^^ wow, you know I didn't think of it that way AT ALL
If Edward dies, I would be just so crushed but it would be a good and tragic way to end the book.

I love love love the 'Twilight' series.
I've heard about it a couple of times in other forums but I didn't really get interested about it until
I saw the advertisement in a couple of Intouch magazines that my sister bought.
I have to say that at first I thought it was boring. The first chapter of Twilight bored the heck out of me that I stopped reading it for a couple of days but then I took it up again and I smacked my head for postponing such an amazing book.
Last thing I could say would be, that I'm very excited to read and own the coming two books=D

The writing style for Harry Potter was very elaborate compared to Meyer's writing style. Her writing sometimes bore me. I would call this series the best, but I like the love story. I think I'm just in love w/ Edward's character, that's why it took me FOREVER to finish "New Moon".

Considering that it's 500 pages long, of course it should be fast-paced. The book might've turned out to be 800 pages if it was slowed down, haha.
This book is so amazing! You can really, really feel the passionate and the tension grasping you from out of the book. New Moon isn't as great, but there's a point in that sequel that it's kind of hard to find.

to be honest, i dreaded reading new moon. mainly because of the circumstance concerning bella's birthday party @ the cullen's house, and the months that followed. it was awfully depressing to read those empty pages. i actually stopped and wondered why there were only empty words. felt so bad for bella =(

^The point, that I was talking about, is about Bella's transition to life without Edward and her determination to try to move forward with life even when it was the hardest. I'm sure, for the most part, that people were so caught on by the fact that Edward was gone and wanted him back so badly that they missed the big picture. They missed the fact that the whole story doesn't revolve around Edward but rather the life of Bella.
That's at least what I think. But that doesn't mean it's Meyer's actual message that she wanted to get through.

i'm not going to deny that i was one of those people who was caught up with edward being MIA. it hurt to read those chapters, with bella living as a zombie, throwing a huge fit and pretty much being.... dead. i think its hard to see the fact that the series is mainly about bella, when edward integrated into her life so well. but like meyer said,

Even though we all love Edward so much, ultimately, it's about Bella. I sort of get offended when people say the book is so boring! And the only reason they think so is because Edward's not avaliable.

I admit that it is somewhat dragged and upsetting to hear that Bella is depressed, but if people gave it a chance to look it over again, it would change eventually. I think people should have some heart because her situation is somewhat relatable in the sense that someone she loved and depended on so much is gone.

Why won't Bella agree to marry Edward? I know about the whole "her mom always said that marriage is a very very very serious deal" thing but... becoming a vampire, turning her back against humanity (as edward puts it) is a huge thing to the both of them. it puts them both on an equal playing field (if that's ever possible with the likes of edward cullen!) essentially, them being vampires together makes their relationship eternity. why marry (when it's such a trivial human thing to do? =P) when she grew up with slightly shrewed views of marriage (isn't phil almost 10 years than renee?!) when she's doing something better -- a bigger step up -- like "turning her back against humanity", leaving everything behind she's ever grown up with to completely jump into the unknown (and i mean unknown in the loosest way possible - she gets the mechanics of becoming a vampire but she won't know till she's there)? isn't that what marriage is basically about? having enough faith to jump, without wondering how bad the fall will be afterwards?hahhaa, believe me, edward wouldn't be able to restart my heart if he asked me!
