any bikers on here? road, dirt jump, cross country, free ride, downhill, bmx.. anything?

I ride on my ugly old bike around my neighborhood ;p

i used to do a lot of trail biking until i broke my gear changer thingy on a drop... stupid gear changer thingy *shakes fist*

Not really much of a biker right now but don't drive and want to get a new bike to ride around town and for college campus next year. This is the beautiful machine I'm saving up for. And I'd like to switch the pedals to these. I'm really a novice to the whole bike commuter thing though. But really want to learn about bike mechanics and all that.
