This was a random movie I rented from Blockbuster, and I have to say it's one of the scariest and creepiest movies I've seen. I saw this with two other people, and we've seen hundreds of horror movies, but there are scenes in this movie that we had to have our faces turned away because it just got way too creepy for comfort.

The reason to watch this movie is that it as scary in a suspenseful way as the J-horror movies like 'the Ring' and 'Ju-on' without some supernatural thing involved. There's some gore, but not as ridiculous as 'Hostel' or any other DTM (dead teenager movie).

I think if you can get over the fact that the story revolves around a calf, then i think you'll really enjoy this movie. lol

It seems like most of the better horror films from this decade are the lesser known foreign and/or independent type. I hadn't heard of this until now, but now I definitely wanna check it out.

you're pretty much right, but i didn't think it ripped off Aliens like the story would suggest. One things for sure, this movie is like 10x more creepy than any of the Alien movies.

i actually rented this movie because of your thread hahah and GOSH... i like it it was a good horror. you're right, it gives the kind of suspense you'd feel while watching a J-horror. the one part that made me go "OH mini cooper" out loud was when mary was crawling under the floor/wood and when she saw that THING staring at her and being really still before attacking her. *SHIVERS* thanks for the recommendation! if you have any others, or your favorite J-horrors, let me know i like watching actual GOOD horrors rather than the movies they call scary nowadays, like Hostel hahaha- no offense, i just thought that movie was blah...

lol i don't really like those scary movies that never made it to theater. i tried watching some of em at blockbusters. just renting random movies and when i watched them they sucked sooooo bad. this sounds funny to me haha.

my "OH mini cooper" moment was when in the beginning when Mary accidentally found the newborn calf and was approaching it. GOD, that part was creepy because you saw what happened when the other guys put their hand on that calf.

I was out renting movies last night and came upon this movie thinking, "The topic starter recommended it so I'll try it!" I looked at the cover and it's creeping me out already. I'm not a fan of horror films but my curiosity always brings me to watch them anyway. I still haven't watched the movie yet...since the cover is still creeping me out. The cover is different from the picture you posted. There's like a little snippet of a pair of horrified eyes at the bottom and thsoe pictures creep me out somehow. I'll edit this later when I finally watch it lol. The synopsis does seem really interesting. I like cows. I hope this movie won't change my views about them

I finally watched it and it wasn't as scary as I thought. It was very suspenseful and got me off the edge of my chair. At one point in the movie, I even moved my chair further away from the TV because I thought those things were coming after me lol. Some of the scenes were really disgusting, those things were disgusting The part that really got to me was when Mary was alone with the calf and I thought it would do something to her so I was screaming at the TV, "No, you stupid girl! Get away! Stupid!" And when nothing happened to her, I was like I will never look at cows the same way ever again T_____T It sucks that Mary doesn't know about those things infecting humans and that she was infected with them when she had sex with her boyfriend and now she'll give birth to a baby girl and BAM, Isolation 2 haha. This was a really good movie though. I'm happy I came across this thread and decided to rent it!

haha, yeah the synopsis indeed sound funny. though looking at the poster don't really creep me out but i guess i have to watch the movie first before judging it.
