I second Lupe Fiasco & 2pac! (Those were the 1st ones that came to mind, but other people already mentioned them.)
Also, they're more underground artists, but music by Tonedeff, CunninLynguists (dirty group name, but many meaningful songs), Brother Ali, PackFM...

2pac's works at the top of the list dude then goes... hmmm Lupe Fiasco.
