Yet to watch more of the films suggested. smile.gif

I just finished watching The Shutter (Thai movie) as suggested.

It's around 2:00 AM now and I'm the only one awake.

That movie scared the crap out of me!! >.<"

So many shock parts, and I loved the ending. Now I have to go to sleep with the fear of my blanket being pulled off LMAO!! O___O

watch veronica mars at night, it sure scares me.

haha saw is amazing, so mind-blowing intense.

and of course the classic twilight zone series, and yeah .. all the movies mentioned, usually foreign horror movies are soo much better.

Audition by far. I loved the build up to the climax. The first hour or so made it seem like your typical romance-movie, so I let my guard down. Boy was that a mistake XD I'm not a guy even, and this left me feeling squeamish.

Yeahhh boyyyy. Horror is my criteria.

I'll name mostly modern ones, since I know a lot of young people these days aren't scared by older films (though they're the ones that scare me most actually).

Ones I thought were scary or had scary parts in them:

The Eye
The Ring (yes, the American version)
3 Extremes II (for the segment "Memories")
The Exorcist
Jacobs Ladder

Good films others find scary:

Suspiria
A Tale of Two Sisters
Uzumaki
The Descent
The Beyond (not for the faint of heart/easily disturbed)
High Tension

Sucky horror films I recommend others stay away from:

Hostel (boring)
Ju-On/Grudge films (they're all the same, but some people find them scary, so whatever)
Saw films
The Blair Witch Project
pecpecjuice
I just finished watching KAIRO (Pulse)...its a japanese movie made in 2001...its really good and you can download it from www.VEOH.com right now...i reccommend it to anyone
<3goesDOKIDOKI
hostel
the hills have eyes
saw

the grudge (japanese versions) i think there were 2 total.

disturbia haha
its not scary scary but it has a lot of suspense

event horizon
80slitenite
3 extremes
i borrowed it to watch it but never did

A bracing anthology of horror stories uniting three of East Asia's most compelling directors : Miike Takashi's Box, Fruit Chan's Dumplings, and Park Chan-Wook's Cut.

i started watching Audition but the beginning is too boring for me

I saw Red Shoes the other day. It was so good! One of the scariest I've seen IMO. And soooo well made. I hate how some scary movies have some really cheesy moments... this one didn't, y'know what I mean?

I just don't get why it's called Red Shoes in America. In Korean it was pink shoes, and the shoes in the movie were so obviously pink. o_o;

I know what you mean. o.o I don't watch many old horror movies, but one that was scary for me was the old the Haunting. Dunno why. The new one was totally laughable though. In a totally kickass way. XD;

Both of the 3 Extremes anthologies were so amazing. I don't know which volume I liked more... both of them had their better stories. Park Chan Wook's was my favourite from the first volume. But he's like my favourite director so that's why. I adore his directing style.

I was thinking of the Haunting when I said that!! XD I saw the 1963 version last year and have seen it twice since and it's scared me all three times. I know a lot of people wouldn't like it though because it's black & white and there's pretty much no gore or special effects. But those aren't the kind of things that scare me, the Haunting scared me because of it's direction, use of music, atmosphere and overall sense of dread. The best way to watch it is by yourself, late at night, in the dark. Creeeeepy. I had to sleep with my hands under the covers the first night I saw it. >_>

I love Park Chan Wook too and his was also my favorite segment in 3 Extremes. I really liked both anthologies, but the only segment I didn't like out of the 6 was "The Wheel" from pt. 2. I loved "Memories" because the first few minutes scared the crap out of me, and I've seen hundreds of horror films. There's one person in the scene, no talking, no scary monsters or anything, it's all pretty much one shot, and it managed to freak me out. That's how good of a director Ji Woon Kim is.
