I like Aya Kamiki (and Michelle Branch! XD) too. She's often compared to Avril but I think Aya's better. YAY for female J-rock artists~! XD

She did an awesome cover of Evanescence's "Bring Me Back to Life" and Heart's "Alone". I remember the first time I heard "Pierrot" - I was blown away. Her voice is really powerful. Oh and there's an Aya thread floating around here somewhere.. it hasn't been updated in FOREVER though.

omg. She's one of my favorite jrock singers! <3 She has a great voice and it's such a shame she's under-rated. She deserves so much more. T_T

i've always wondered why she's not that well known. i always thought her music would be pretty mainstream j-rock. but i think she's gorgeouss and she's got such a strong voice

For the last week I've been practicing my guitar, she's great inspiration... Me and my cousin are currently forming a band named 'Like Water' and we're trying to find a bassist and a rhythm guitarist. If it's hard to find a bassist then I'll be giving up my position as the guitarist and playing bass lol...

maybe it's just me... but sometimes i wonder if it would help her to tone down the hair coloring because people first seeing her might be tempted to compare her with avril lavigne (which i've seen done). but when you listen to her, aya sounds nothing like avril.
