Hello all,
We implimented a rule a while back to remove all the similar topics. There a gazillion topics asking, should I get a "Civic or Corolla?" Or "help me choose from a Honda Accord or Toyota Camry" and it was getting overwhelming.
It is much easier to moderate the car forum without individual topics, but many want their own topics to ask questions more specific to their needs. So now I will allow topics, as long as you, the car forum members, help me find violators of the car forum and general Soompi forum rules. Please PM me if you find any. Don't use the "report this post to a moderator" link, because that sends a PM to everyone.
So in order to post "What car should I get" type posts, please follow these guidelines:
First select the blue post icon with the "?". I am going to designate that as the official icon to mark all these types of posts. Any post that is not of this type, I will remove the post icon.
Topic Title and/or Description:
Should include the cars you want to choose from, or type of car. (ie. Help me choose a commuter. or I need help choosing from a Honda Pilot or Ford Explorer)
Additional info:
Type of car (sporty, luxury, economy, SUV):
Price range:
New or used:
Manual or automatic:
Years of driving:
Cars currently suggesting:
Needs and other info (do you need passenger room, cargo space, AWD, etc):
Try to give as much information as possible. Being vague will only result in delayed answers and confused readers.
This forum is basically whatever I want it to be. If you want something changed or have comments, feel free to voice your opinion and I will use my best judgement to suit your needs as long as it is manageable by myself.

Oo~ ...
Good idea ...
I just hope that there isn't a flood of "What kind of Mercedes Benz should I get" or "What car would Jaejoong want"

LOL I wonder who you are referring to??
Yeah, there will be topics like that. And there were topics like that before I implimented the now old rule.
The people who create topics just to be attention whores, I will warn them and close their post.

OK I just edited the first post. What I am deciding to do is to make all these types of posts requied to use the blue "?" icon to identify these threads. I want this to kind of organize the posts, and people who don't want to read it can filter through the ones branded with this icon.

Think it might be overwhelming because each individual member can post up a "What car should I get?" because there will only be maybe a few people looking for the same thing. I'd be easier to just make a sticky called "Car specs" or something. The thread will simply have links to cars in order by Make, Model, and year (Same chassis can probably stay together), that way if a user is interested in the car they can simply go to the thread and by then we have already had some kind of debate about it. The specs and cost will probably be somewhere along the line too. That might be a lot better than a sea of threads of every individual member posting up a "What car should I get" thread. If the car is not listed then they can research it and then post a topic with whatever concern they have about a particular vehicle. Multiple cars can also be used in a single link until they are specifically asked about.
Might be a bit confusing but at 3 am it sounds about right to me lol

Yes it was very cluttered back a while ago. I'm doing this to allow more members to get personal answers to their questions. If people don't want to help, they can simply avoid the thread.
This is temporary. I will see how it turns out.

I am in favor of Honda Civic rather than Toyota Corolla. But when Toyota Camry and Honda Accord lock horns.... things become a bit confusing but i will choose Accord. I am no Honda fan but Toyota lacks the features list.
