The point of this section is to allow soompiers to showcase their singing, dancing, and performing talents to the world .
Please remember that people on soompi are on different levels of performing; there is no need to be outright rude about commenting on perfomances that you may think are sub-par.



1. The global rules are still applied in this forum.

This includes no profanity, no racist comments or innuendos, and no sexually explicit material. Violation of any of these rules will result in a warning and may result a posting ban for an indefinite number of days.

2. Do not go around the swear filter. Do not go around the 20 character filter.

Do not substitute letters with !, @, |, or $ to go around the swear filter. Doing so will result in a warning and a 7-day posting ban.

3. When commenting on clips, ALWAYS provide a constructive criticism.

Comment like "You suck" is NOT a constructive critism. Doing so will result in a warning as member bashing.

You can be honest about your constructive criticism, but there is a fine line between constructive criticism and insult.

.4. Do not start convos in a topic.

If you have to talk to someone specifically, do so by PM or e-mail.
Starting convos in a topic will result in closing of that topic.

5. Do NOT post someone else's work saying it's yours.
. If you are proven to do something like this, then it will result in a warning and a closure of that topic. You may post someone else's work for that person, but you must CREDIT that person, not yourself.

6. Do NOT post mp3 clips of professional singers.
This classfies under file sharing, which is not allowed on this site. Please do not post any songs sang by original artists.

7. ANY TOPICS/DISCUSSION RELATING TO AUDITIONS ARE TO BE POSTED IN THE AUDITIONS SUBFORUM.

8. Collabs may be posted as a topic on the performers section.
HOWEVER, you must provide the "[collab]" bracket in the front of your topic to let people know that the topic is for COLLAB PLANNING, not a completed clip.
When you finish your collab, you may post a new topic with your collab clip.
Make sure you ask me to close your collab planning topic. I
IF I FIND THAT THERE ARE ANY POSTS IN THE COLLAB TOPICS THAT ARE NOT RELATED TO PLANNING THE COLLAB, YOU WILL BE WARNED.


9. Do not bump topics or post "saved for later" (will post soon, etc) and not provide feedback to a perfomance.
Your post will be removed.

we broke the traditional name we had for the last what.. 5 years!

I felt that the name 'singers' simply limited the section to singing clips only, and from the emerging of video performances, dancing, instrument clips, and more, I just felt that this title would broaden our section's ability to welcome more performers of soompi.

I really think that, we should open up a weekly singing thread so that people outside actually can appreciate people who perform in here. I know alot of times, people are just confined to only a place (members 411 or fanfix etc.)

It'd be fun to introduce back the Singing thread in members 411 again!

^You can put it up as long as it is your work. It doesn't matter how you recorded it.

I think those types of threads promote talent in an indirect way (sometimes bad due to no prior permission - especially if copyright is enforced), but it is cool if the main artist/author doesn't mind.

i want to make a suggestion, but i guess it'll only go towards THIS thread, so i guess i'll just say it here.. hope no one minds (and i doubt no one cares)

anyway.. i wish there was two separate parts of soompi performers.. one for AUDITION stuffs, and one for PERFORMER stuff... i loove hearing people's voices, but they continuously get bombarded and its very annoying to filter and get to the SINGERS of this thread...

im not saying the 'audition' threads are pointless and a waste of time, but i am saying that it seems like there are differences between the two that are clear and obvious...

what does everyone else think?

i have a hard time getting to singers
because there are so much audition preparation stuff, info. + all that.
sometimes, it`s kinda annoying + a little hectic to get to.

and i think promoting people is fine, as long as you have their consent.
the last few words are the key words there.

Can I suggest that we have a fixed number of audition/entertainment related threads, because honestly, about 5 have popped up in the last three days alone that are easily answered in the existing large Ent/Audition threads. OR one of those big red/blue large font signs at the top saying read existing threads before asking something that is answered in the audition threads or Q+A threads (just like in some of the other forums)
Because seriously people, it's getting ridiculous.

^ i agree... seriously, there has to be atleast 5 threads for brothers entertainment alone.
then there's the threads made completely for one person who's auditioning for an entertainment and updating on what's going on (not to put them in the spotlight or anything)
it seems like they're overflooding this section.. and lots of threads are pushed back, not being given all of the attention they deserve..

Nope the big admins said that if the traffic isn't great yet to the singing/performing thread, then no. We (the regular singers here) have raised that issue many times and JohnnyMoon even said he tried talking for us, but to no avail.

Yeah, please be patient... There are many issues that are being talked over with the admins and the mods right now, and I believe this issue will be brought to the table in the due future... So once again, I ask for your patience.

I know I created the Collab Thread to regulate collabs and keep the performers section more organized. But since the existence of collab thread, I noticed the production of collabs have decreased dramatically. Therefore, I am allowing collab topics to be made in performers section once again.

I'm still looking into the possibility of using the audition subforum as an area to plan collabs, but for now, collab topics may be posted in the performers section.

i have a question... as a performer, does that also include spoken word/poetry??? or did i just not look close enough.. cuz i, myself, would love to perform my pieces in video/audio form or share them out for people to read.... but this forum says singers/dancers/instruments...
i mean, poetry is a form of art but the artwork section is all visual [graphicdesign/photos/drawing] and the fanfix is based on stories...

I know asking for different subforums can be really troublesome because you have to run through things with other admins, and it's a bother to find someone to moderate it......

but can I suggest that we make a collaboration subforum? I mean, I see that the "[collab]" tag rule has been initiated in the performers section and it makes it much more clear.. but there has been a serious increase of collabs in the performers channel and it starts to get slightly irritating when I want to hear the actual performers and then I see a huge league of collab threads spread out everywhere. I dunno if it's just me, just a small suggestion.

Edit: It would also be an increase in organization too, so the people who are looking to collab can look in one place instead of scavenging in the performers thread mixed with other peoples threads.
