so, i went with a friend of mine, and the place (of course) was packed. the lines were long, but the whole place could only hold a few thousand people, so it wasn't so long of a wait.
when we got into the concert hall, the people at the door took our cameras.
(but it didn't matter in my case, cuz my camera ran out of battery power
)we got into a line that we thought was to get into the main hall, but it turned out to be a line for goods.
we gave koda a lot of money today. (ticket was 6,800 yen) i got a mirror (500yen), eco bag (1,500 yen), towel (2,000 yen) and a original tour book (3,000 yen).
so, anyways, after we bought our stuff we got to our seats.
first there was a pretty cool opening video.
in it, a frozen(?) koda kumi is lying on a bed, when a witch enters the room, take a key off of her chest and stabs firery swords into the space around her. then she awakens and falls into a pool (ocean??).
at that moment the real koda appeared on stage swimming around in a small pool!
the first set of songs had a lot that i didn't know, but cherry girl was one of the songs.
the first part was a pirate theme, and so the dancers were in pirate-type outfits and koda was wearing what looked like a band uniform...
at one point, two male dancers went out to the floor and grabbed a girl and "tied" her to a chair onstage, she was later freed by koda...after koda rubbed her boobs in the girl's face. lol
she also did a jazzy version of cutie honey.
then another break with a movie clip.
the witch dropped the key in the first clip and it was picked up by some random dude.
koda meets up with the dude in a room and pushes him down on a bed and pours poison down his throat and takes the key back.
the key turns back time and koda's again in the ocean as a mermaid.
she comes back on stage and sings a number of ballads (none of which i know ^^;;;).
then in the final video, koda in a dress is led into a weird circus-type room by a man. she's then, again, trapped in a cage.
the next set of songs include ones i know, like a rock version of real emotion and freaky.
throughout the whole time she sang well, danced well, and was very energetic. she waved to people in the audience.
and at one point, she was like "the crowd is small, but that doesn't matter".
the songs ended, and she left the stage. so we all started chanting "koda kumi" over and over.
still nothing.
so, more clapping and chanting, and two of her back-up dancers appeared on the big screen back stage.
they were all wearing koda kumi goods. and they finally went into her room where she was also changed into the koda kumi shirt that she was selling, and had some extensions in her hair.
they were like...so...people want you to come out, i think.
and she was like, "oh...i was just going to eat these momiji manjuu (japanese "candy") and go home..."
the momiji manjuu was huge, and she took this HUGE bite out of it lol.
the guys were like " you guys (audience) need to call out something that starts with "en" and ends with "re" to see if she'll come".
we all started chanting "encore" over and over.
and she took a sip from her koda "kumi" cup and headed back to the stage.
she sang a song, then sat down to "talk" to us.
lol, she started talking about health checks and how you gotta take care of your body.
then she was like "i got a breast exam, wanna see the pics?" and she showed this pics of her getting a mammogram!
she then talked about how when she was doing a different concert, she kneed herself in the eye while doing a dance move, and the next day it was all swollen.
then she showed the pics! and played the clip...and played it again over and over in slow motion!
she talked a bit about love and said some random stuff. then she sung some songs and ended with "ai no uta".
overall, i think it was a pretty good concert. i wish my camera had battery, cuz then i could at least post pics of the goods
onstage and in real life, she looks really fit! like...she's got muscles and looks like she works out. i really respected that, and oh man, when she was singing her final song she started crying. very moving.
i was really impressed with the energy she put into her dance and how nice and funny she was during the talk. (...even if she did try and get us to buy her goods lol)
ok...time for bed. my ears are hurting >_<
