PS, but dont recommend L or RAITO from DEATHNOTE... (or mello) cuz i already had those two tried out LOL and at one point i had blonde hair (thats how i pulled off mello) but does cosplay HAVE to be from anime? can it be of... celebrities? lol

Gel isnt very good to use because it's more wet and sticky. I recommend hair wax and hairspray (super strong/hard) kind, depending on what kind of style you are going for. Flat irons and curling irons can also help to add certain effects like flipping out hair, etc.

Just choose whoever that you feel comfortable. ^^

I agree with Key.. I think cosplay isnt limited to anime/characters. Although people cosplay mostly anime stuff. You can cosplay anyone you like.. but, I think, that person should have some sort of trademark.. like when they see you in a certain outfit they'd instantly recognize who you're cosplaying.

If you want cosplay a certain character or artist, it's better if you get to know them before cosplaying. Cosplay it's not just dressing like the character, but also acting like the character.

So for anime/manga characters, try to read the manga or watch the anime series. For artist/band cosplay, try to listen to their music and watch their PV [video]. It'll help.


It's better that you cosplay because you LIKE the character, not just because the character is well-known or famous. ^^



And yes, Visual Kei is part of J-rock.

Agreed. Which is why I've been in more than one discussion with people who do cosplay and think they're the greatest...but didn't know a thing about the chara they were suppose to portray. I hate that. I do alot of research before I start a cosplay-project...I don't only wear the costume...I LIVE it.
