I think the Cheshire Cat is from a game or something? I've seen quite a number of cosplayers cosplaying it. I don't remember the exact title, but it has 'Wonderful World' in it. The concept is like Alice in Wonderland =) I remember the Alice wear stripy socks and red shoes..? With dark hair too, not blonde ^^

Yup, that Shaman King cosplay is fairly recent (Oct 07) and Akuna is asking for photos from people who took pictures of them so there isn't many (only 2 I've seen).

Hmm... I don't know whether that is Meiwai's real album but it has got an extensive cosplay history which stops in 2005 so she hasn't cosplayed for awhile I presume. Well, her English isn't great so that adds to the authenticity... an extract from her only blog entry "也许这就是我需要的吧~一个属于我的地方" --> "Perhaps this is what I need~ a place to call my own" (in reference to her cosplay) implies that she probably doesn't have an album to begin with...

Ah, that account. Somebody said Alabama is the first option when you choose for US state. I think it's like registering for email, you have option for States in US and then if you're not from US; there'll be option with list of other countries. I think she might have realized the State list only for US, and she had picked Alabama by accident. Something like that.. I've asked somebody about that before and that's the explaination that I got ^^;;

A friend of mine actually send that Meiwai a message and she said the person is not good in ENglish though [something like that]. A while back the topic of fakers was discussed in c.com forum; the Mod has checked the IP of the person who own Meiwai's account;

So far, it's been figured out that meiwai, SHIBATA YUNA, Lar-Nelo, and HIGHFIVE are all originating from the same IP range. Sounds like we may have an answer, right? Unfortunately, no. The problem is, it doesn't really solve much. It was a good start, though.

I went ahead and banned SHIBATA YUNA because, among other factors, the user had the same birthdate/general info copied over from Lar-Nelo (also banned) and it's a bit too much of a coincidence.
HIGHFIVE was banned because there was too much evidence against this being one person's account. They also had registered with an e-mail address that seemed a bit too suspicious.
However, this doesn't mean they're all fakers automatically, because this IP is actually from a service that caters to many Asian areas. They aren't all actually using the same IP, it's just that they all come back to the same provider. :/ I was sad when I realized it wasn't an easy ticket to discovering the truth, but extra research and what has been provided in this thread helped a lot.

I did some more research on meiwai, and it seems we have the real thing. The e-mail address used to register and confirm the account can be traced back to the real meiwai.

Also, the account contain a lot of pics of Meiwai that I haven't seen yet and also old, old, OLD pics of her such as her Kaoru and Mana cosplays which some I posted in the old Soompi forum about 2 years ago ^^;;


I think that *might* be the real Meiwai..
