To me hosts are just a played down version of prostitutes. In Japan there is glamourous facade surrounding them in the media, but really it's a disrespectful job to have, wherever you are.

People pay them to kiss them and touch them, go out to dinner with them and such... I read somewhere that sometimes they do have sex with the clients, too. Meh.. Gross..

Here in England it's considered very bad to be a host.. degrading.. usually females doing it.. O_o not sure if this mentality exists only here though...
