Well, I love Vanilla because it's the first song I heard that Gackt sang so it left a great impression on me. I also love the PV (also first PV I saw of Gackt) on this song, his blonde hair and movements are just awesome. I won't be able to forget this video in years to come.

Then for Redemption, I loved it immediately when I heard the song for the first time. I was like 'WOW!' when i heard it. For 'Another world', I heard his song for once and when the song ended, the music just keep repeating in my head (not irritatingly), I just can't forget the music.
It was also Mizerable's PV that left an impression on me. Gackt's role as a vampire in the video was great. ( Vampires are one of my interests before I came to know of Gackt) The song was GOOD too. Then I love 'Last song' better than the other songs, the music is just wonderful to listen to. (I love the other songs Gackt sang too, just that these five are the ones that left greater impression on me.)

rain is the first one because I love the epic tone and the lyrics... And I remember when I watched the rain performance in Kagen no Tsuki; I was totally astonished. Gackt gives all there, that voice, those eyes... and when the rain starts to fall... Such a beautiful image


Ash is great great great. I love it because it starts softly and it goes up and up gradually; then his "Ash" shout and the guitar... And the "Just make sure to never forget this sadness by tracing over the marks of those tears with a knife" is just... woah


Last Song always transmits me a lot of emotions when I listen to it. And when I say always, is always. I get a lump in my stomach, especially when I watch The Sixth Day and Seventh Night performance...


Leeca. Waaa this song is so nice Is very sweet... And Gackt singing it is so sweet as well... I would like very much see him singing live this song again.
And the strange thing is that I've always loved to listen to this song specially in the morning (like when I go to the Uni early). Later I read the lyrics and in fact they talk about a nice morning in a park

Faster songs
Vanilla because it was the first Gackt song I heard.
U+K beacause I cannot listen too it and be mad. If I'm having a really bad day I get home and put this song on and blast it and jump around my room (or I watch the performance). And when I listen to it at school I really have to hold back from dancing around (I almost did it in my physics class last year, not like the teacher would have noticed)
Nine Spiral Gackt's voice just oozes sex, and it sounds sort of frantic (like Asrun Dream and Kalmia) and I like the craziness of it.
Luna I can't really describe what it is about this song...
Lust for Blood/White Eyes/ Papa lapped... These three are equal, when I hear them I get this feeling over my whole body and no other song really does that.

Slower songs
Last Song (both versions) The only song to ever make me cry.
Emu ~for my dear~ it makes me think there's something more to the song.. and I love falling asleep to it.
Fragrance we've seen the performance and I hope to be his microphone stand in my next life
RainI just fell in love with it instantly, and you can feel the emotion coming through the speakers.

Your list/reasons are similar to mine!
Vanilla --- I saw Gackt perform this Heyx3 before listening to anything by him. I was... blown away to say the least. (anyone has a fav version of Vanilla? hmmm, I can't decide)
Last Song --- I loved this from the very first listen. It makes me cry (sometimes) and no matter how many times I listen to it, it makes me sad.
Orange no Taiyo --- ditto on the harmonizing. It gives me delicious chills just listening to them.

I like the rest of Gackt's songs but these are the songs that come to mind immediately if asked about favourites.

In the 2nd to last picture he's smoke a cigarette with a 40 by his side. What a G. Too bad he looks like a woman.

Well I don't particularly find big muscular rugged men with hairy chests all that attractive either, in fact it's kind of repulsive, so you know... Different strokes for different folks!

2) Oranji no Tayou, for obvious reasons, the harmonizing of the voices and the significance it had for Moon Child

Not me. I went out to eat with a few friends and one of them said her food tasted bad (sour) so I said let me try. It was terrible. And as far as expiration dates.. if it doesn't smell and the colour hasn't changed and its still with in a week of the expiration date I'll still eat it.


Me too... not overly feminine though. Gackt is about as far down the spectrum as I'll go. It's strange though my mom and I were talking about that a little while ago and she said a lot of women are attracted to men with feminine features. I had said that I like guys with soft faces and looked more pretty/beautiful, and she was attracted to guys with longer hair. I'm not sure how true what she said is, but I haven't found to many people who would strongly disagree with it.

Funny...a friend of mine had a theory about my preferances in men...she said she sees a connection between my relationship with my girlfriend (that ended last summer) and my liking of men with a feminine touch.

Anyway...I don't know if there is truth to that theory...

I don´t know if there is a connection but I do think that the era of the testosterone oozing brute packed with muscles is definitely coming to an end. In my opinion things will change to women being allowed to show more "masculine" behaviour, like willpower, determination and such while I already see a shift in what was still forbidden for men only years ago, to show feminine sides and features, this metrosexuality thing... I don´t know. We debated that before. I don´t really categorize into feminine/masculine, I just know what I like and "my" men always tend to have some femininity about them.... and why shouldn´t they if they are so beautiful that way ...


February 2006 Newsmaker Chapter 2 and 3

Just read it and there were many beautiful bits in it, often hidden between the lines I felt . I like what he said about the novelists as leading a lonely lifestyle as isolated geniuses, so true, and you can really feel that he sort of admires that kind of lifestyle but shies away from the loneliness that it brings...

And I love that he loves Howl´s Moving Castle, it´s such a beautiful movie, much in the tradition of the older Miyazaki movies from the Eighties and Howl reminded me so much of Gackt when I watched it for the first time ...and I wanna see the movie that made Gakuto-san cry, “今、会いにゆきます” (Be with you)... I care to see what moved him so much, sigh....

Oh yes...Howl's moving castle is soooooo awesome! I saw it in a local cinema on a reeeeeally huge screen...it almost blew me away. And I must admit that I was very close to tears...I might even have cried during the ending credits. But that's me...another one of the animated movies that always brings me to tears is "The last unicorn"

Yep ^__^ Besides, he saying that we can give him strength, and happy moments... It's really nice.

I guess I might as well participate in this little song survey (it's impossible for me to choose fav song of all time, so I'll just put what I'm addicted to now):
1. Saikay~Story~: At first, I had Story (the instrumental) when I got the Mizerable mini-album and I loved it..I had no idea there was a version with words until I watched some photoshoot/interview where I caught a snippet of it. Then I set my heart on having that song, watched the REAL PV and was moved almost to tears, and searched for weeks until finally ami007 from livejournal gave it to me =)
2. Kimi No Tameni Dekiru Koto (7th Night): This was the first Gackt song I ever had, and I just stumbled onto it on someone's xanga profile or something..I absolutely loved it even though I didn't know the title (eventually found it by singing the lyrics to my gackt-fan friend)
3. Tea Cup: This song was very hyped up by my Gackt-loving friend..so I just had to hear it..It didn't quite live up to its reputation when I got Love Letter, but after I watched the Venus Fort performance I realized how much effort goes into it's beautiful simplicity..this is my favorite to sing.
4. Ash: This is one of the first Gackt songs I ever heard. I love how many different and creative moods and themes the music has, and Gackt's voice at the climax near the end gives me shivers.
5. Lust for Blood: I've always been a sucker for the powerful, the dramatic, and the mysterious..and this song is just perfect. From the heartbeat in the beginning to the tremendous emotion in the chorus, it breaks my heart and gets me pumped up at the same time..a song that does all that is definitely a keeper.

Oh, and for all those people who think Gackt is a girl..haha I love this

Wah, don´t mention it ... my little brother and I loved that movie when we were kids, we had it taped on VHS from television and the title song up to this day breaks my heart... another great classic is "Watership down" ... this post is so totally not Gackt-related but I just had to mention this ... gotto go for today, girls, will still have to work for my two stupid essays and I need to go to uni tomorrow to sign in for next semester (I have no idea what "rückmelden" is called in english ).. . and I wonder if they´re gonna be open since it´s Rosenmontag ... you´re lucky, Amber, far up north, not so many Karneval idiots running around in Bremen I guess .... err, no offence, fellow germans ...

Oh.my.god..."Watership down"... I remeber watching it for the first time when I was still a child. Afterwards we went for a walk around the neighbourhood. It was a nice summer evening around dusk..and then we came to a field of grass and there they sat...a whole colony of rabbits...I burst into tears and my mother had a hard time calming me again.

Oh...we had a parade last saturday...I was glad I could stay at home. And it's all over on wednesday...it's what I tell myself all the time. And even without such a festivity I have enough drunken idiots running around here at night...with alot of pubs and restaurants in the neighbourhood...

I agree, it is the perfect end for the concert. It doesn't make me cry (I may have said this before but I'm like a robot I almost never cry) but it I just sit back and get this heaviness over me.

No pics, sorry. No cameras allowed. But it was really nicely done. It was so moving how one of the narrators (performing as Elrond) told the story of his parents...the way he said "This is the story of Eärendil...my FATHER"...durig the show they had me smiling and almost moved me to tears...*sigh*

Oh and on my way home, listening to Gakuto singing "Kagero" this thought suddenly came to my mind...wouldn't Gakuto make a wondeful elf?
