Angela was born in Taiwan. Her family immigrated to Canada when Angela was 12. As the oldest sibling in her family, Angela has a younger sister and a younger brother.

She attended many singing contests when she lived in Canada. At the "Rothenacker Village Festival" singing contest "BBC Star", Angela won first place by singing Zhang Yusheng's popular song "The Day without Gibernau (没有烟抽的日子)". She was subsequently offered the chance to go to Taiwan for the final, which she did not attend due to school commitments.

After she graduated from high school (Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School), Angela started her career in 2000. She became popular after starring as "Tian Yuxi (田羽希)" in the TV series "My MVP Valentine (MVP情人)."

Angela's first language is Mandarin, but she also speaks fluent English.

Angela Zhang Releases Cartoon Image for Album

Taiwan pop star Angela Zhang attended a promotional event for her fifth album release in Taipei on Monday, introducing a new cartoon image to accompany her songs.

Hong Kong-based Tungstar reported that the singer will have a cartoon image going with her album each time, and that fifth generation Angela dolls come in pink and purple, with 12 postures.

Angela's new album, named "Ang 5.0" will be released on December 14.

The big-eyed pretty lady Angela, has a 'dark-skinned son' who has eyes as big as hers as well! During the past 6 months, Angela secretly attended a world exhibition and through it, she started to help raise a small boy from overseas. She even gave him a name called 'baby'.

Last year she was at the peak of her schedules and it was the year that she was the busiest, but Angela suddenly wanted to be like Fan Fan, and participated in the world exhibition that helps the poor. The little boy that she helps raises will be turning 6 this year. Angela will give him NT$700 (about 1009.34PHP) every month. The son, baby, who is still overseas, will always write non-periodical letters (no fixed date) of thanks and expresses his gratitude, and through these letters Angela has an insight and understands the changes going on in baby's life.

In Angela's house, she has an oil painted portrait of the boy, which was actually drawn by Angela herself. It turned out that in the past year, she secretly approached a teacher to teach her drawing. The teacher was Fan Fan, Barbie Hsu and Patty Hou's teacher as well. Initially, Angela first learnt to draw fruits, rag dolls or scenery, that was the first time challenging herself to draw a person. She decided to choose the little boy that she raises as her model. Just by picturing and remembering the features of what the boy looks like from photographs, she painted huge eyes, dark-coloured skin, and an innocent expression on the boy's face. She laughed and said " I drew the eyes a tad to big, but it's still very cute all the same".

Regarding her drawing skills, Angela gives herself 60marks. She said jokingly "My artwork is from an abstractionist point of view, please do not take it seriously, it is the meaning behind it that is important".

Taiwan singer and actress Angela Chang is back on the scene after a half-year hiatus due to health problems. She served as one of the torch bearers in the run up to the Beijing Olympics and any lingering concerns about her health can now be fully put to bed. On today's "The List", we review Angela Chang's career.

Angela Chang was born in Taiwan in 1982, emigrating to Canada with her family when she was 12. She was fond of singing from an early age, attending many singing contests in Canada. 15-year-old Chang won first place at the "BBC Star" singing contest by belting out Chang Yusheng's popular song "The Days Without Smoking".

However, it was in Taiwan that Chang began to establish her professional music career. In 2001 Chang signed her first contract with an agent... spending the following year undergoing tough training: recording, dancing, running, swimming and other physical exercises. Chang didn't complain about the hardship because she knew all her efforts would be worth it the moment she stepped on stage.

Chang's extraordinarily powerful voice is a rarity among Chinese singers. Her early songs were tailored to capitalize on this advantage. In 2003, Chang's first album " Adventure of True Love" was released and her music style finally took shape.

Chang's first foray into the small screen came in 2002. She stood out from a dozen candidates and starred as the heroine in the TV drama "My MVP Lover".

Chang demonstrated an acting talent as impressive as her voice. Her popularity soared to new highs after portraying up-and-coming Asian diva Yi Tianbian in the TV drama "Romance in a Dolphinarium". She also sang the theme song of the drama, providing her with another hit tune.

Angela Chang is well on the way to becoming the most popular singer in Taiwan. As her albums come out one-by-one, die-hard fans find themselves mesmerized more and more by her songs and her cute face.

But the pressure of her new life as a superstar finally caught up with Chang last year. She became so exhausted that she decided to take a six month-long break in Canada. With her health restored, Chang is back and ready to write a new chapter of her singing career.

Angela has certainly always had the talent to stand out on her own, but in the crowded mando-pop world, music videos are so often critical to singers' success. Today, we'll take a look at some of the most popular MVs in the Chinese speaking world at the moment.

Under the shinning sun, Jay Chou, the future soldier, stands on the shoulder of Optimus Prime to use the last bullet, they put on a great show of the hero rescuing the damsel in distress. "Attacked", "Rescue", "Counter Attack", all these are portrayed with comics, they are full of action and story. This is the first time Jay Chou and Angela Zhang have done a real life comic.

Funny thing, when I first heard of Angela's songs.. I thought she was just any TW singer.. Then I bought this CD that incl. a poster of her, but it was her w/ blunt bangs so I suspected her to be a serious person or something. After watching Romantic Princess, I changed my views towards her : P I love her voice. And I think she looks prettier w/out blunt bangs.
Yeah Sir Winston Churchill is a known school in BC.. I know like 5 people that go to that school.. its so cool to go to a school where a well known celebrity went xD

Angela Zhang becomes Johnson’s spokesperson for 3rd consecutive year; will release album in August

Multi-talented queen Angela Zhang yesterday attended a press conference for Johnson’s new eye product. Besides wearing a sleeveless blue top, and white shorts, she specially put on Johnson’s contact lenses, displaying the charm in her bright eyes, definitely electrifying everyone! Angela expressed that she pays a lot of attention to her own eye make-up, and the contact lenses is her secret weapon to let her soul shine out of the window. She said she is very happy to be able to be Johnson’s spokesperson for the third consecutive year.

Reporters at the event were concerned about Angela’s recent health, and she expressed that she is somewhere between skinny and fat. In the past she was always very busy with her work, and even if she ate 7 meals in a day, she wouldn’t get fat. But now she places great importance on her health, and leading a normal diet, so she won’t become a paper girl anymore, is that hard for everyone to get used to?

Talking about her new album progress, Angela revealed that it is expected to release at the end of August this year, so she hopes fans will wait patiently: “This time, we collected 300 songs, and my record company chose 50 for me to try out, afterall, good sings are hard to find, that’s why the album release is slightly lagging.” As for acting, Angela is not ruling out trying for the big screen, challenging a martial arts film or a police-type film: “I want to play a female who very much has personality, I don’t want to be confined to little cute roles or love dramas.” So which male actor does she wish to collaborate with? Angela expressed, Andy Lau & Aaron Kwok are artists she admires, and she hopes to get the chance to collaborate with them in the future.
