13 Regiments

This is supposed to be Tsui Hark's (Seven Swords) major comeback. So far the film seems pretty good, with Donnie Yen probably getting involved. It sounds a little reminiscent of Flash Point with the idea of different martial arts and following different character plots. I'd keep an eye out for this one.

The Warlords

This is the one that's coming out the soonest, in December I believe. This is defiantly going to be worth seeing sometime because of the cast alone. Jet Li, Andy Lau and Takeshi Kaneshiro all team up on this one as brothers. It certainly raises high expectations, however the trailers are proving to be really good and I believe Jet Li is progressing as a greater actor so I have faith in the movie. I also think this will be more grittier & grounded then other epics.

Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon

This is based on the popular "Romance of the three kingdoms" novels, which is sure to raise a few brows. Again we have some noticeable actors here such as: Maggie Q, Sammo Hung, Leon Lai and Andy Lau. I'm not sure what to expect or say on this but the trailer does look pretty good.

An Empress And The Warriors

I'm actually really looking foreward to this because of Donnie Yen. Although it's being developed by a new company this should defiantly put Yen's skills to good use. I'm thinking this will be similar to The Myth, only better. With a more richer story and complex fighting thanks to Leon Lai & Donnie Yen. The director is also supposedly legendary; Tony Ching, so expect good stuff from this one.

Appleseed: Ex Machina

Even though I've never seen the previous movie or heard of Appleseed before I'm intrigued by any visual marvel that can possibly match Advent Children. I believe this is already out, maybe so on DVD even. But it is sad that in terms of a "good movie" it doesn't do so well. Coming from a recent review the story is said to be nothing special. The action however, thanks to John Woo is supposed to packed with fun and slick gunplay, so that remains to be seen.

Forbidden Kingdom

If you haven't heard of Forbidden Kingdom already then shame on you! (Slap). This is the first ever pairing of Jet Li and Jackie Chan... and one really lucky american kid. Ever since I realized it was slightly americanized I had doubts, but apparently the lastest trailer is suck-free! It seriously looks very good for a wuxia with an american in it. So don't miss out on this! I believe it comes out early next year.

Battle of Red Cliff

Since the departure of Chow Yun-Fat and Andy Lau from the movie, I wasn't so sure if John Woo's movie would actually be good. However there's still a hefty group of all-stars left such as Vicki Zhao, Zhang Fengyi, Tony Leung and Takeshi Kaneshiro. Despite some clips of them making some scene's, which is avaliable somewhere, a true trailer is yet to be shown.
Sukiyaki Western Django

I'm sure there aren't too many cowboy style attempts, but this one sure as hell pulls it off! And with a unique flare. It probably won't be known for a good story but the concept, design and action are oh so fun. It has a hint of a wacky vibe but like I said, everything else seems to be a roller coaster. For a more indepth review check below. Also I believe the DVD is either out now or soon to be.

Tai Chi Tiger

Yeeeep. That's the Tai Chi Tiger (I think), which is suppose to star alongside Yuen Wu Ping's protege Chen Hu. I believe it's in very early production as no plot has been revealed, but feel free to google magic more. Hopefully with his experience in The Matrix they'll transform him into a kung fu kick asser.
Mad Detective

Since Exiled inspired me to keep serious track of good gunplay/gangster/cop movies I've come across this, another Johnnie To film. But! It won't have the amount of sheer action or gunplay of other similar films and will focus more on the characters. I'm not sure how this will turn out but it should be alright with Johnnie To nonetheless.

Siyama

A Thai epic! The only one I've ever seen was Legend of Suriyothai which was a really good movie as well. This however looks friggin sweet and will probably be a very famous movie from Thailand. Although it doesn't have the same budget as other wuxia films this compensates by having a more realistic and gritter feel. I can't wait! This also makes me wonder. If Tony Jaa ever starred in a movie such as this.. whew.

Chocolate

Coming from the director of Tom Yum Goong is another thai fighter flick. This time the story circles a little girl who apparently can fight like crazy. I'm really not sure what to expect but I do have hope. Just a heads up.

One Bak 2

You know it, he's back. After one of his projects, Sword, got cancelled I wondered what the hell he was working on, and here it is. Tony Jaa it said to be directing the movie himself along with fellow One Bak & Tom Yum Goong director Prachya Pinkaew. Expect carnage. Serious, serious carnage. Oh yes.

Big Note
There are also serious talks and rumors of sequels for Seven Swords and Dragon Tiger Gate but due to the casts busy schedules they've just been delayed. So inevitablely, they are coming.
Well I think that's about it buddies, maybe I'll see you again next year. Feel free to google around for additional info on ones that caught your eye, as I'm sure I haven't covered every inch about it. Oh wait! I should share with you some of my own personal waiting lists!
Mortal Kombat 3: Devastation
Is said to be a reboot of the franchise, such as Batman Begins.
Give the movie a real fight choreographer, a nice budget and stunt team and maybe even throw in Jet Li or Tony Jaa as Kung Lao and you have yourself a movie my friends.
Also Starship Troopers 3, Constantine 2 and Chronicles of Riddick 2.
And a revival of an old Canadian show Reboot.
