　関係者に付き添われて機内から現れたあゆは、到着ゲートで待ち受けた取材陣に一礼。「体調は大丈夫ですか？」との問い掛けに「体調ですか？　はい」と笑顔を見せた。関係者と笑い合うなど上機嫌。混雑で転倒しそうになったカメラマンを「大丈夫ですか？」と気遣った。しかし「これからも歌い続けていきますか？」と聞かれると「ごめんなさい。えっ？」と質問を聞き直し、左耳の不調をうかがわせる場面もあった。

　歌手デビュー１０周年の決意表明として４日に難聴を再告白。ファンを心配させたが、音楽活動に専念することで不安を吹き飛ばす。今後は新曲の制作と４月５日からスタートするアジアツアー（海外公演の概要未定）のリハーサルに入る。会員制ホームページ（ＨＰ）で「私はボーカリストであり続けたい。残されたこの右耳がいけるところまで、限界まで、歌い続ける」と宣言した通り、障害を乗り越えて歌手の道を貫く。

Ayu arrived at the airport, greeted the media and was faced with many questions from the reporters regarding her health. At one point she couldn't hear their questions properly. (They sort of relate this to her hearing probs)

After returning to Japan she will start working on a new song and also rehearse for her upcoming ASIA TOUR 2008 which is commencing on 5th april.

There's also news that GUILTY had already shipped 750,000 copies and it may be the first album released this year to break the 1 million mark.

Pop diva Ayumi Hamasaki confirmed earlier this month what her nastier critics have been saying about her tone for years -- she's deaf, at least in her left ear. And Sunday Mainichi says the 29-year-old superstar's ailment isn't being helped by her increasing isolation in the music world.

Ayumi Hamasaki used a special member's only blog she writes to reveal she'd lost her hearing. "Actually, last year I had a hearing test that revealed my left ear doesn't work at all, and the doctor said there's no operation that can fix it," Sunday Mainichi quotes the songstress writing to her fans.

Ayumi Hamasaki has actually known for years that her hearing was going bung, and has twice postponed national tours because of it.

Nonetheless, now her secret is out in the open, Hamasaki is determined to forge ahead with her plans to tour the country from April, but the disclosure of her deafness has also opened another can of worms for her.

"I read everything she wrote on her blog and it seems she kept the news all to herself, not telling her relatives or staff," entertainment beat journalist Yuji Watanabe says. "I think rather than the deafness itself, the bigger problem (for Hamasaki) is why she kept such a problem held so tightly in her heart."

Ayumi Hamasaki has long known it's lonely at the top. She has almost single-handedly kept her record company Avex at the apex of the Japanese music world, but realized as the company's queen bee she can't afford to have a public perception of weakness. She only told two people of her hearing problems -- Tomoya Nagase, the boy band Tokio member and her longtime ex-boyfriend, and Mika Noguchi, the president of panty manufacturer Peach John.

Hamasaki's career is also not as sturdy as it once was. During her 10 years on the scene, her every album has come out at No. 1 on the charts in the week that it was released. But "Guilty," her latest offering that came out on New Year's Day, only reached No. 2, giving greater credence to suggestions that younger, flashier singers such as Kumi Koda and others of her ilk are about to usurp Hamasaki's title.

As for Ayumi Hamasaki's actual condition, ontological expert Tetsuro Ogata suspects she may have Meniere's disease.

"She's got either sudden deafness or Meniere's disease. Her hearing has become progressively worse over a number of examinations, so I think it's probably more likely to be Meniere's," Ogata tells Sunday Mainichi, noting that sudden deafness arises out of the blue and can be caused by such things as viruses or stress, while the condition also believed to have affected Beethoven starts with hearing difficulties and dizziness before progressing to hearing loss.

ayumi hamasaki's first Asian tour is now available on a long-awaited DVD!

The 120-minute live DVD captures every hit song of the show, plus encores, encompassing songs from the Secret album and staples of ayumi's live shows.
The scale of ayumi's Asian tour was completely unheard of. Running from March to June 2007, the tour mobilized a total of 180,000 people in Japan (Saitama, Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka, and Fukuoka), Taipei, Hong Kong, and Shanghai and transported the 600-ton stage to perfectly recreate ayumi's Japan shows in cities around Asia. This DVD set contains exceptionally rare footage never seen in past tour DVDs that filmed only the final concert. A French fan reported at AHS Forum about watching HA shooting the PV in Paris.

We were few fans to know where was the shooting place and everything worked fine!
Ayu shooted a PV for Mirror in a full version !!!! with a new intro, etc...
She wore a beige raincoat (like a dress coat) with a sexy black dress and a beret (like CDL 2004-2005) with a long blond hair. She was totally pretty, fantastic and so professional of course.
All the staff was very nice and accepted us with big smiles
Ayu seemed very happy to see us, really I think. She spent all her time during the pauses to send us smiles and kisses! Our presence was so surprising for all of them (the staff -and few French technicians worked with them too).

I have very deep feelings about this song...
I wanted to sing it now, no matter what.

After very specifically defining all my thoughts to the recording staff, we recorded the song.
Because of that, I think it turned out really wonderful!!!
As for further details, maybe I'll be able to explain more to everyone after you've heard the song...
That's what I think anyway.

Incidentally, the song is called "Life".
It's a word I like very much.
It's a song whose theme ended up being "living"...
That's good enough to say for now.

It's a rather painful song, but a positive one too.

the poses on the CD only covers are really nice! and the PV was seriously totally different than what i imagined, lol. i thought it could have been better, but i loved her outfits, the paris scenery, and ayumi's crazy facial expressions.

As for the remix albums, they came out yesterday in Japan (the gold edition came in at #4, and silver at #5), and I still think they're kind of useless and unecessary :/...

^ I agree. As much as I love Ayumi Hamasaki, I really don't understand whats the point of making remixes...I always like the original version better.

OK, after listening to both remix gold and silver, yeh i agree with u guys, the remixes sucked. some of the home-made remixes aren't bad though that u can find around the internet.

finally ayumi has some good stuff coming out!! I love the marionette and mirrorcle world songs and pvs.. I've been losing interest in her ever since her misunderstood album came out.. but now I'm in love again

Oohh..I found her gold/silver remixes to be a lot better than her old ones. I especially liked her heaven remix from the ayumix 6 -Silver- . And step you from the gold remix wasn't bad either =] .

Her voice just gets better and better. I was listening to mirrorcle world and she has a really strong vibrato

Overall, I thought this single was a solid one. YOU remake was horrible, so glad I ordered the Depend on you version.
Life is a nice ballad, something laid back and not dramatic from ayu

Congrats for Ayu, her single has been #1 for the past two days according to Oricon

. Meaning her record shall break itself once again. Although...Honestly, it's very fishy how her works are always getting released "early" now and just happen to help the numbers look better :/. It was a pretty good single, but I'm hoping for completely new work next time
