Has there been any additional information about her hearing loss? I can't recall if it was rumored to be her left or right ear in which she was losing hearing in.

wasn't it already official long time ago that she is completely or almost 100% deaf in her left ear?

I wasn't sure. I know I read about her hearing loss sometime ago I just wanted to know if they are doing anything about it i.e. fewer shows, more visits to audiologists, etc. hearing aid or some kind of reconstructive surgery on her cochlea or one of the nerves (facial or vestibular) to prevent additional loss of hearing.

well ayu does let us see into her personal life through her fan messages but even if she was persuing treatments to try and get her hearing back, i doubt that any news would be released unless there was actual significant improvement.

Not really. I normally buy the A cover and/or the CD+DVD. When Koda Kumi released 12 singles that was ridiculous for that I just waited for it to be released as an album.

There is a CM for Sparkle but there isn't any clip
The news were kind of a surprise because normally we'd know about the release of a new album like 2 months or something before head.

Ayu Goku to Grace New Single

Popular manga-ka Toriyama Akira has been commissioned to draw an illustration of J-pop queen Hamasaki Ayumi (30, profile) for her latest single.

The connection of course is that "Rule" is the theme song for the global release of "Dragonball," the Hollywood adaptation of Toriyama's mega-popular manga.

The first pressing of the single will be printed with the image of Hamasaki as the character Goku on both the CD and an accompanying DVD. It is the first time for Toriyama to create an original illustration for a recording artist. He said, "Actually I'm really not good at caricatures, and for a while I regretted taking on this job.

"Hamasaki-san has so many fans and I hope they don't get angry that the image doesn't resemble her!"

Called "Dragonball Evolution" for its Japan release, the movie opens in Japan on March 13. The double-A side single "Rule/Sparkle" goes on sale February 25.

Pop star Ayumi Hamasaki is teaming up with mangaka Akira Toriyama for her upcoming single "Rule / Sparkle." Toriyama has drawn a likeness of Hamasaki that will be printed on the first press CDs and DVDs of the single. This is his first time doing an illustration for a music artist, as well as his first time drawing a real person for a commercial product.

The collaboration is a result of Hamasaki's "Rule" being used as the theme song for the worldwide release of the live-action "Dragonball" movie, which is based on Toriyama's popular manga. "Rule / Sparkle" goes on sale on February 25, ahead of the movie's March 13 release date.

nuwera: Thanks for the recent images of Ayumi. How accurate are the translations? For example the first set has her saying that she arrived at the studio when it was really dark yet the picture clearly shows a nice and bright sky behind her.

^ Maybe she meant that when she arrived at the studio it was dark but then she took pictures when the sun rose (?).

i love the album cover! it's so colorful and fun to look at. i love ayumi's hairstyle.

The Next Level cover is out of this world. Only Ayu could wear nails on gloves and still make it look good ha! The track list looks like it's going to be a very energetic album. Now to decided which version I want and can afford.
