Alright I really, really like playing badminton but a friend of mines says it's a girly sport and a guy shouldn't play it. What do you guys think is the most wimpy/girly sport?

your friend is a bimbo (lol) if you really like it you should continue it not because you friend said it was a girly sport, rugby is a guyish sport but you still see girls getting out there and playing it. just my opinion ^^

Haha rugby is sorta a guyish sport but "some" girls try out for it and could probably beat "some" guy teams. Anyways badminton in lots of peoples opinions isn't a girly sport but some people just think differently.

I wouldn't say 'wimpiest' or 'girly' sport.. just one that I'm not fond of is Lawnbowls. .__."
It just looks so boring. O_O But I know some who have felt the same way as me, and they actually tried it, and found it REALLY fun.

Well it's not girly, but golf certainly isn't MANLY either. When I think of golf I think of vaguely fat middle-aged to old men in funny pants. But uh, that's definitely just me being stereotypical. ^^;

Anyway, Badminton is really fun as long as it's not windy or played indoors. I wouldn't say it's a wimpy sport.

Well I personally know that badminton isn't a girly/wimpy sport because I've been on the team for the last 3 years and am probably one of the best on the team. And my friend i a girl btw.....lol. Oh and yea some people are really bad at playing badminon and look really weird.....especially some of the people that had gone to playday last year at my elementary school.....

no offense to golfers but i think it is golf. it makes alot of mind power but i think once u get your swing form down that is can be pretty easy.

BJJ gay? Look, I don't know how you came to that conclusion, but just the other day in BJJ class I was talking to some guy about whether BJJ was gay or not while we were in the north/south position. I looked over at him, he looked over at me, and then we both blushed a little and had a good laugh. It was absolutely clear from our perspectives that BJJ is NOT GAY. If you can't see that, you need to watch some more BJJ or roll a bit yourself son



Really? Golf is one of the most technically difficult sports I have ever played. The basics are easy to grasp but there are so many complexities to every swing it's damn near impossible to master. There's a reason lots of former athletes, not just pure golfers, play for 30+ years and have trouble making 72 (par) on the harder courses.

I go to a sports school, and netball is one of the roughest sports I've seen. I reckon it's even more rough than bball. Freaking, the girls get so competitive in netball.. it's scary. ._.

well .. i play badminton since almost 9 years now, It's a very quick sport, you need to be very fit and have power. The fastest smash in the world was made by Fu Haifeng at 336 km/h <<< is that really a girly sport ? your friend should see a professional match, i can promise that he won't say that again ! hahaha
But i got used to it, here in france it's referred as the sport to play on sunday with your whole family, not taken seriously, although in asia, it's a very famous sport and everybody knows how hard it is to play badminton ..

I think there has to be a distinction between wimpy and girly sports.

There's tons of sports that are not physically demanding that cater to both genders (lawn bowling, darts, etc) and there's some really girly sports that are super tough (synchronized swimming, as mentioned above).

Hey! Girls are hella awesome at sports too! I'm always being told to "Hit it like a woman!" when I'm encouraged to do it better.
I did varsity badminton in high school, and the balls go freakin' fast! Definitely not the lame New Years Eve badminton.

The lamest sport is probably car racing. I love to race (I hope there aren't cops here reading this hahaha), but it's not really a sport. You can't work out...unless you almost crash, and then-well-you certainly get your heart racing! Hahaha.

I play badminton XD ... I don't absolutely love it. Sometimes it's a pain in the ass, literally. Well practice at our school is hectic, and by the end of the season, it's almost close to military training. But being a whimpy sport, is far from it once you've actually did some serious stuff with it.

if john daly is considered an athelete, then u got problems.

idk i always here people dissing golf... it seems easy but the pros just make it look easy.... ur lugging like 30-40 idk lbs around, up and down mean hills for like 4. something miles.... and u have to perfect ur swing... i spent hours just hitting golf balls, and the next day i couldnt move.....
i say every sport is masculine, yet wimpy in its own form.... no sport attracts all.... just depends on the persons likes...

Lets see you do what a normal racing driver does and lets see who is calling it wimpy. a normal race car driver loses 5lbs of sweat per a race. You have to endure hot temperatures inside the cockpit and have total concentration for 2 hours. The fact that they need to be able to still have a sense of direction and thoughts after 2 hours is amazing. Also, you definitely have not felt powerful G-force as well. Not to rag on you but without real research in your case, it needed to be ragged.

But seriously...The most girly sport would have to be netball, since you would not see any self respected man playing it, nor any naked people running through the field.

synchronized swimming and colorguard are mostly dominated by females, but that doesn't mean they're wimpy in the least.
