I bought the $78 tickets because the $58 ones were all sold out...oh well I'll be closer to Khalil

!
I'm so excited for his concert!! I love Khalil! And I like Fiona Sit too...really hoping they'll do 復刻回憶together! Actually, I hope he performs most of his older songs...don't really love anything from Orange Moon...
and it was pretty hard rounding up friends who wanted to go with me! *sigh* I don't get why Khalil is so underrated...he's amazing!

I discovered Khalil when I was in Taiwan in January (Singalongsong got me into him, because it was in English and his voice and melody were really nice). I love his voice and lyrics, they're so sweet and smoothing.
I'm so jealous of you Canadians; I seriously doubt he's ever going to come to Australia.

how the heck does he dress like a teen punk rocker? His style is pretty casual. And if you dont believe me then watch his MVs,interviews and concerts. And I dont even see how this matters, its his music that matters.

Got my tickets at Hollywood Cafe today!!
They still have some $58 tickets (plus $10 for service fee). You can give them a call or you can go there yourself to pick your seats.
Hollywood Cafe is just outside of Market Village and phone # is 416-917-9178. Ask for Lobo.

Just came back from his Toronto concert, it was alright. Maybe I expected more.. but he did a lot of cover songs (his next album is gonna be a cover album), and lots of acoustic music. He had three other band members, disappointed that he didn't bring the Wonderland Band =S.
At the signing in Toronto, only ticket holders can get signatures and a pic from him. You can show them the ticket or the recipet (if you bought it online). Khalil's nice too, he signed all of my albums, even though the limit was "one".

It was really short, but never the less I love him : )
It was a little small, but I loved how it was like a cozy performance
I absolutely loved how like he'd respond to the audience and stuff : )
The hall wasn't full, i thought they'd try to fill up at least the lower levels first~~
`~~ Hope he comes back soon la~~He's so talented and I love his voice.
Kay, that was a really random and choppily written post, my apologies.

Well, I thought the turnout was already pretty good (toronto concert). I was a bit disappointed because it ended too early, concerts usually start late and end late, but his turned out to start a tad bit late but hell early! His singing is pretty good, but there were too many English songs. For folks who are into those kind of music, you are in luck, but he picked songs that were a bit to difficult for his range and style. All in all, I'm happy I only bought $78 tickets, if I had spent any more money it would have been quite a waste. I think for die hard Khalil fans, the concert was satisfactory, I mean I never expected Khalil to be funny, but the concert could have been improved in a lot of aspects.

Heard many good things about this singer. I want to give Khalil a try =] Which album of his do you guys think I should try first?
SE7EN_
Jun 8 2009, 09:15 AM
^ I think "This Love" and "Orange Moon" is popular for non-die hard fans, go give those a try.

Jun 8 2009, 07:11 PM
hmm...album-wise, I'd recommend "Wonderland" (3rd album), "Soul Boy" (first album), "This Love" (Second Album), then "Orange Moon". (this is according to my own preferences)
the first and third album have the most r&b/soul feel. the second album seemed to be more mainstream. Orange Moon is the most mellow and feel-good.
in terms of songs, I'd recommend, "Love, Love, Love" *personal fave - this song shot him to international fame) “四人游" (Four People Swimming), "蘇麗珍" (Su Li Zhen), "歌手與模特兒" (Singer and Model) (all from the second album).
as for Wonderland, I'd recommend, "夠不夠" (Is it enough? *personal fave*), “公园"(park/playground - Khalil raps a bit here),“Love Song"
Soul Boy: "南音" (Southern Sound), "春风吹", "叫我怎么说" (How Do I Sayi? - *personal fave*), "每天每天" (Everyday), "我们能不能" (Shall We?)
Orange Moon: "Singalongsong", "如果爱" (Perhaps Love), "每個人都會" (Everyone knows), "小小蟲" (Little worm)

I guess the Canadian concerts went pretty well but I think he should stick to smaller cozier venues
Because he is truly amazing live...he never sings a song the same
I just think a larger venue kinda swallows the sounds...his songs are just not meant for huge concert halls
so khalil didnt win any golden melody awards this year ): but I'm still so proud of him for being nominated FOUR times! Quite the accomplishment ^^

Khalil was on the Hunan TV game show "Happy Camp" (快乐大本营)last week. He looked really happy and energetic to be on the show. He displayed his musical skills and we see a young Khalil in the kungfu get up. We also see him in action!
he seemed a lot more carefree and open here.
a must watch!

I'm glad I checked this thread. So only a little bit more than a month until his new album. Altough, I can't say I'm happy if it's gonna be a cover album but at least it's something new from him. I didn't really follow what he's been doing for these past months. :/
Btw, I liked his 1st and 2nd album when they came out (and now, too. lol). But I can't say the same about Wonderland and Orange Moon. WL was still okay but the OM album was such a dissapointment to me.
So after 4 albums, IMO, it'd be a perfect time for him to change, singing songs in different styles or just mixing them.
