Isn't MBC running the Hollywood Bowl again this year ? And given the whole dispute between MBC & SM, what are the chances of any SM members going to the Hollywood Bowl, that was why i was surprised to see BoA (One of SM's biggest artist) & SNSD on the Peace Concert List. So i wouldn't put too much faith on seeing SUJU at the Hollywood Bowl this year.

Peace Concert isn't hosted by MBC.
And MBC doesn't really decide which artists come, they just air the show.
I doubt Korea Times wouldn't invite even ONE artist from SM because of the dispute.

I found on Wiki about SG Wannabe: After being the top selling artist in South Korea for the past 3 years, SG Wannabe is currently on the verge of breaking up. The group's contract with their management agency expires at the end of May 2008, thus the group's leader Chae Dong Ha may leave the group.

So does this mean that this may be the last time you'll hear them sing while they're still a group??

having faith is good, but having too much, might just make a bunch of fans disappointing, imo. esp with the artists on the Peace Concert list already, i honestly doubt they will go through the process with their visas again for another concert in may. So i doubt you will be seeing anyone on the PC list on the HB list, but that's just my observation, unless they plan on staying in the states for a month after the PC, which i highly doubt.

You would be surprised by the power of MBC, i mean they didn't invite a single one of SM's aritst to their music thing, if it airs on tv (and for the last few months not a single SM artists on any of their televised shows, heck not even DBSK) ; MBC atm has too much pride and doesn't want to give in to SM and vice versa, so in all honestly until one of them caves in, i won't be banking on any SM artists at the HB this year

It will prolly be one of the last times all 3 will perform together.. If all 3 are gonna be there. Didn't DongHa formally announce he's leaving?!

hum....what i heard was that SM didn't allow (not that MBC didn't invite) any of their stars to go on MBC shows
such as DBSK, they are back in korea and went on some shows of the other two stations but not any one of MBC's
also, a long time ago i heard that in korea, SM actually has more power than the stations (just want i heard and read from
other fans).

but i still hope to see DBSK and SUJU

Yeap Definately SM ENTERTAINMENT holds a significant amount of power, a power somewhat..which surpasses the media agencies and favorable within all media stations.

But yea if SM continues what their doing (Like continuing to withdrawing their artist from MBC), their gonna be making alot of enemies.

well, all this is unconfirmed stories...but i've read them in many places

so i think lets not worry about things like if SM will send stars to the concert sponsered by MBC
they should know that this is a good chance for them to promote their stars in america

you don't have to get visas multiple times : )
a visa lasts for a certain amount of time, and you can go to that country however many times you want within that time period.
normally a visa is like a month, i think, but it's possible to get visas that last half a year, for example.

First of all, I think the way Korea Times is releasing the artist names is absolutely stupid (well, smart for Korea Times, but stupid for all of us to deal with). Leading up to this date they said they were going to release the "first batch," and what, we get all of 2 names..........

I have a feeling they are having trouble securing a good list, so they're doing it this way to try and drum up more ticket sales. I doubt that any of the more popular artists who already performed in Los Angeles within the months leading up to HB will be there. Also, if MBC is in charge, then you can forget any SM artists being there as well. When was the last time someone from SM was on Music Core?

That means all of these artists are probably NOT COMING: SM (SNSD, SuJu, DBSK, BoA), Peace Concert (BEG, Yangpa, FTIsland, Shin Hye Sung), and JYP Tour (Wonder Girls, J-Lim)

Only exception is maybe J-Lim, since she is working on debuting in the U.S. Even though BoA is too, you can't underestimate the magnitude of this conflict between SM and MBC. Remember SNSD was added late to the Peace Concert list? I wouldn't be surprised if SM did it just to give MBC a slap in the face by helping to make Peace Concert surpass HB as the best U.S. Kpop concert.

Also, Big Bang may be out too, because I think they're focusing on Japan right now, and isn't Seung Ri going to be acting in a play or something that is going to run all the way until maybe a week before HB?

Sorry if I sound bitter, but I hate it when stupid people do stupid things, and the way Korea Times is releasing the artists is just ridiculous. Why were they in such a rush to SELL the tickets, but now they are dragging out the releasing of the artist list???

Think about it, if they have a good list, they should release it immediately, so that people deciding between the two concerts (Peace and HB) don't buy Peace Concert tickets and go to HB instead.

But if their artist list isn't good enough to win people over from going to Peace, then it's to their advantage to not release the full list until after the Peace Concert. If they keep everyone on edge with excitement about HB, they may convince some to skip Peace and go to HB with the hopes of someone good popping up on the list. Don't you find it strange that they are waiting until the first week of April (when Peace Concert happens) to finish releasing the list??? It's not a coincidence. I would not be surprised if they have planned their final announcement sometime after April 5, like maybe April 6 (which is still in the first week of April like they said). This is a smart marketing strategy by Korea Times, but anyone with common sense can see through it, and it really is a pita for us ticket buyers to deal with.

Oh well, whatever, I am going to both, I have Pool at HB and VIP+ Row 3 at Peace. I do hope I'm wrong, and I'm not trying to burst anyone's bubble, but this is just another perspective to look at the way things happened.......

^ this is nothing new the release list done that way. Last year was exactly the same, they released it by 2 and 3's. I believe they do this so that it keeps people buying the tickets. First are the hardcore fans who will buy the tickets no matter, then there are the ones who will buy because of that specific artist being released. While with other concerts who release the list right away, the hype dies out pretty quickly after most people bought their tickets. Lasts years list was already as great as i could imagine it, so I'm sure they will not dissapoint us again this year. I've been happy so far with every HB concert I went to.

^ ah ok that makes me feel a little better, i didn't know they did this last year. i thought they released a larger group, because last year they didn't actually SELL tickets until they released a bunch of the artists if I remember correctly.

i'm still worried though that the artists won't come twice to the same U.S. city within 2 months. I know they've always had a good list, but this is the first year they have competition, and the first year they have to deal with MBC vs. SM (idk if mbc is really in charge or not, that's just what i've read from other's posts, i know MBC broadcasts it though). Last year there was no Peace Concert or JYP tour in los angeles, and I find it strange they aren't trying to sway more people to HB away from Peace Concert with Peace approaching, unless they don't have anything they can sway people with atm.
