I don't like doing things last minute so i'm thinking of buying this dress this weekend:

ugh, do you think thats a good idea? i really hate the bottom but i'm REALLY set on getting a glittery dress for my senior prom.

anyone else find some nice glittery dresses? ive seen SO many of them and some of the "glitter" parts look so tacky. this one was the best i could find.

Since I have like 4 balls to go to this year, I'm gonna get my mum to make me 2 dresses this year <33
I saved some pictures to show her later

But here is what I wore to my balls last year, my mum made this dress too. i found a design I liked on a website and got my mum to replicate it for me :x

These pictures aren't from my ball, but it's the same dress at my cousin's wedding

um no offense.. but the whole point of the style of the dress is the bottom part, because it's a mermaid dress. if you don't like the bottom, you should just find another dress similar to only the top/body of the dress. i don't see any point in buying a dress if you're just going to hack off the main/special part of it. good luck finding a nice glittery one.

I would recommend doing it in the afternoon. I went to a friend's senior prom last year and I got mine done around...noon-1pm ish? I got my hair done first and then right after was my makeup appointment. Make sure you do it at a place which is convienent for you! Luckily, my makeup and hair place was all located in the same mall (just one floor difference!) so it was easy for me to get from one appointment to another. After that, I went to pick up my date's boutonnier (sp) and went home to get ready with some time to spare!

Its actually not a really big deal if I wear a bra or not because number one, I am FLAT XD, and number two, its padded enough (but not too much

). But just in case I might buy one of those nudey bra things :X. I think the back is too low to wear a bra.

How do you guys make hair/make up appointments? Do we just go there and ask if they do prom hair and show them a picture?

I have no idea how to do make up appointments. Do we have to pay for it? Do we have to buy anything? Should we brink a picture of our dress?

but would full-length dresses that drape the body be okay? not the poofy ones

This is my dress for prom. Since it's still early I'm still looking around for better dresses. If I can't find anything nicer than this within a month, then this will be my dress for prom.

I love the color and it makes me look super tall. xD
Do you think it's too plan? Or too traditional-ish?

i honestly like the updo- but if u get it done make sure u get it done professionally so that it'll stay in place and will last through the night!
and i think its fine if you're short
i'm 5'3 but im wearing a long dress that "drapes" the body and i think it actually makes me look taller and slimmer

theres me and my 5'3 self in a long dress..

so.... i think if u really want a long dress u should go for it

Our prom is really casual-ish- no one wears down-to-the-floor flocks because our prom is outside. Underneath a carnival tent with a DJ and a 'guest band' every year so yeah.

The prices for all these dresses really discourages me from going to prom =.=" soooooo pretty though

ticket = $180ish per person ( 5 hours at the waldorf astoria ;[ )

Is it worth it? I dont dance (at all) I dont really like being crowded with all those people (800ish in senior class?) but last chance to be with friends arghhh

^ oh my, I googled the waldorf astoria and it looks absolutely gorgeous! (which is why your tickets are so expensive?)

my prom is $65~70/person & $3 off if you pre-book your table arrangements! I have quite a few dresses I'm unsure of to wear to prom (since I'm going to 2 different ones), but the one dress I'm 100% sure wearing to my prom is currently in the process og being mailed! I purchased from a soompier (& I'm super excited about it!). I'll come back with pictures once I receive it <3
