i LOVEEDDD JLR. I watched it in one day hahah i was addcited to it. the first and second episodes weren't that great. you didn't really h ave to watch it either becuase they keep repeating out why they had the girl. but it was a really REALLY good lakorn to watch

i wish badarnjai had cuter clothes. like in JLR, her clothes on the island is better overall than the regular street clothe in BDJ. anywaysss, i can't wait for them to come out with a new one

I'm sooo in love with this amazing thai drama called "Defendant of Love"... Aum and AFF are soo gorgeous and have great on-screen chemistry... I love all their scenes together. Aum Atichart looked soo handsome unshaven on the island and even more sizzling HOT!!!!!! clean cut whenever he was staying in the city ... at first glance i didn't think that he was good looking ... but the more I looked at him, he display a fine elegance that cannot be explained through words... they chosed an amazing cast. I love a man that is straight forward, knows what he want and isn't indecisive ... looking forward to more Aum dramas.

p.s. I didn't think thai actors could be soo Hottt. I was wrong! =)

I've seen Defendant of love a moth ago and ever since I'm a big fan of lakorn .
I've just finished seeing another series for Aum and I liked it even more it's called Badarn Jai (The Nether Mind) His acting here is out of this world and the actress Margie Rasri is very talented too. I've also downloaded Gae Roy Rak (Trace of love) for another actor and actress and I'm gonna see it soon.

Anyway, the current one with Aff & Aum doesn't have much screen time for the both of them. I hope the new drama that they're gonna be in will be good and will have them together lots of times. I rewatch Defendant of Love again because I craved to see Aff & Aum together so much and the new drama made me feel so impatient. lol.

I think they're under contract. That's why you see Ken in Channel 3. In fact, whatever we're watching is mostly Channel 3. lol. I just watched Sawan Biang and it's also in Channel 3.

I saw a lot of actors for Channel 3 & 7, so I guess those are two big channels in Thai.

I kind of don't like this system though because I don't want to see the same actors & actresses acting together over and over again. lol. I'm just weird.

I'm sure though right now I'm not sick of seeing Aum and Aff together and they're not "tired" or "bored" from working together, but it would help a lot if you see new actors together like Korean dramas where they can float in any channel.

I rewatched this series yesterday and today and I just loved it once again. I really like Soraya's character and I love how the writer keeps Soraya's character so strong and true to her love for Sasanee from beginning to the ending of this series unlike Suwan Biang where Narin had been giving in and being weaken by Kawee's character. Soraya had such a sharp-tongue and would always made Harit shuts his mouth. I just love the way they bickered with each other on the island and Soraya's will to run away. Soraya's so persisted to her dream of running away and returning home and her persistent had worked out because Harit finally gave in because he loved Soraya.

I couldn't stop laughing when Harit shouted out to Soraya in the hospital "If you're pregnant, I'll be responsible." Hahahhaha. Everyone was turning to see him and her. lol. Umm, I just couldn't help but love Aum so much! He had such strange and intruding face that really interested me whenever I watched his expressions. I liked to see his jealous expressions whenever he kept thinking of Nukul as Soraya's boyfriend.

Wah sunshine your story about JLR make me wanna watch this soon T.T ... I probably will steal time to watch again ... I'm holding myself from watching another lakorn for a while after Sawan Biang ... Coz i still feel the after effect ... My brain is full of Narin and Kawee ... But i have something important too that i need to fully concentrate right now ... Oh i wish i can watch JLR soon ...

Ah i see now why they can exchange couple easily and can be coupled together a lot of time ... Just like here in Indonesia ...

I watched Chain of Love on youtube and then now I wanted to have a copy of it. I wish there is a high quality version of Sawan Biang so I can download and keep! Chain of Love is hilarious! You'll definitely like it once you watch it (well if you like romantic comedy I love Chen! He's so adorable).

About Trace of Love I totally agree with neena It's so boring full of ghosts supernaturals . I didn't like it at all but you know it's only my personal opinion.

wow! I just spent the past three days finish watching JLR and I love it so much! It's the first Thai drama that I've watched and I must say it has made a good impression.
The plot gets a tad unrealistic at times but well, it's a drama and I've seen my share of Korean dramas and read enough romance novels to know that's how it works. haaa... I find the overall pace of the drama fast enough, so despite the melodrama, it doesn't drag. Initially, all the screaming that Soraya did hurt my ear drums (even though she had a legitimate reason to be screaming. heeh) but I'm glad continued watching because it got better and better. And of course, it helps that Harit is smokin' hot... I was drooling at him all through the drama. XD

Some thoughts on the characters...
Harit - what can I say... I love Harit! I guess the only 'blemish' he has is his rape of Soraya 'cos to me, rape can never be justified. But from some comments that I've read, seems like rape is a common plot device used in Thai drama? please correct me if I'm wrong on this one. Harit has plenty of good points, but the thing that I really admire about Harit is that he's never afraid of speaking his mind. He apologizes sincerely and repeatedly when he knows he did Soraya wrong and also reiterated his love for Soraya many times. It annoys me when couples in a drama are all wishy washy about their love and end up second guessing each other because they keep their feelings to themselves. Well, no worries about that with Harit around.

Soraya - typical self sacrificing nice girl but the wit and guts that she displayed with Harit sets her apart. They have great on-screen chemistry with each other and I adore all the sweet little moments between Harit and Soraya... *hearts*

Sansanee - though she's the villian here, I never really hated her 'cos I find her very entertaining. lol... and without Sansanee, how would Harit and Soraya meet?

Some questions...
When Boontai refered to Harit as her husband, it's just because they slept together before and not because they are legally married?? I'm not familiar with Thai culture, so this part confuses me a little. Speaking of Boontai, was her past with Harit fully explained? not sure if I missed it 'cos I fast forwarded some parts. All I understood was she was Harit's 'woman' back then but she cheated on him and got chased out. Did he love her or what?

I also find it a little strange that the truth about Nukul and not Sansanee saving Soraya never come to light all these years. Nukul says he thought Soraya knew but surely Soraya or her mom would mention stuff like 'oh, we're grateful to Sansanee for saving Soraya back then' at certain point in time? hmm, but well, it's a plot device, so maybe I shouldn't be too hung up about it. haaa

phew.. sorry for the rather long post, just can't but rave about JLR as I've just finished it!

It's nice to read your comments. You have a comical side to you. Anyway, I also skimmed through this drama so I'm not sure of everything. Anyway, I didn't even care much about Harit's history. LOL. All I care about is that he's a crazy lunatic who kept thinking that Soraya is Sansanee. And he did all these weird and bad things to Soraya, but he was just madly in love with her that he didn't even know it. Anyway, I just like Aum's gestures and his face when he was near Aff. Gosh, they have this vibe that I can't help but notice. I really like them. And this drama was my first of Thai's.

I actually admire Soraya's character in this series. I think she has a very strong will and when she wanted to do something, she was so determined to do even if she had to die for it.

I couldn't help but think of how many times Harit had to jump down to save Soraya. Hahahaha. Like the part that she stabbed him and he made her bandage for him and then complained about how she wrapped him up like a mummy. He was totally enjoying her bandaging him up though. lol.

Anyway, I don't know if you watched Sawan Biang, but it's almost the same as this seris except the main male character is more violent and arrogant than Harit. You should give it a try.

As for Thai dramas and their "rape" thing. I am not sure. I've only seen Jam Loey Rak & Sawan Biang and it seemed that the main male rapes the main female and then later the female seems to fall in love with them. Anyway, I kind of don't like this idea because it would seem like it would be OKAY for men to do it to women and are still forgiven by women. It's so not hot at all to portray women's point of views since most of us would rather hate the person who rape us to death than love them. But anyway, the dramas got some crazy scenarios though since it all because of revenge that they wanted to rape women (the interesting thing is after they have raped the women, they realize that they loved the women). Sometimes I wonder why I'm drawn to this kind of dramas. I felt sinful for watching raping scenes, but I couldn't help it. I think we should watch more Thai dramas before we judge them based on the two I just mentioned. Though I do learn that women should never be close to a men when they're angry...

I also finished JLR now ^^ ... I did it in one day ... I didn't sleep and watch this ... Becoz these days i really really don't have time actually to watch ... But JLR is so attempting ...

I have to fast forward it now but i'll rewatch it again next time ... And Sawan Biang too ^^ ...

I want more of Harit and Soriya sweet scenes actually ... I guess Harit misunderstand Soriya as Sansanee in too many episodes hahaha ...

I hope he found it out earlier and let me see more sweet scenes between them ... Harit is immadiately change when he know Soriya is not Sansanee not much of sign he loves her before he knew she's not Sansanee ...

Anyway is the actor playing Harin is Aum's real brother? ... So look alike ...

In JLR , I don't think that his brother is his real one . But I agree with you that they so much look alike. My sister and I were saying that they would make good brothers in real life coz they look so much alike.

After watching Jam Loey Rak, I am very sure that Harit had no sexual relations with Boontai. The Viewers should listen to what these parties concerned have to say and react to understand that Harit was just telling the truth not because he was trying to deny his relations with Boontai or nurse his dignity.

Episode 3 “Did you sleep with khun Harit yet?” demanded Boontai.

In episode 3, Boontai told everyone that Harit was her husband but still addressed Harit as “khun Harit”. Boontai was the one who misled everyone in the pearl farm and even Soraya to think that Harit was her husband. But, she was not witty enough to completely deceive the viewers in how she addressed him because the fact is that Harit was her boss and was not husband, not even her bed partner even though she yearns to possess the status as his wife. She just subconsciously gave herself away although she is almost successful in her plot. She had to address him formally not because of her social status but because she has not yet gained the right to. Even Harit’s captive, Soraya addressed Harit as Harit. It was to tell the viewers from the very beginning that Soraya is actually the REAL woman in Harit’s life.

Soraya begged Boontai to persuade Harit to release her since soraya thought that Harit would definitely listen to his wife Boontai but Soraya soon discovered that she was going to be disappointed because Boontai is afraid of Harit. Boontai did not tell Soraya that she was actually barred from the island and Harit was not supposed to know that she is here.

Episode 3 “But I wonder….I have been here for so long. I have never heard him talking about you. He didn’t even say that he had wife. Do you just assume it yourself?” Soraya asked Boontai and she was slap.

In this exchanges with Boontai, Soraya unintentionally trigger the time bomb. She hit the arrow right in the bull’s eye and Boontai slapped her and was screaming hysterically at Soraya.


Episode 4 “Boontai is just a worker. She has no privilege.” Harit told the workers

Harit gathered the pearl farm workers together to find out whose the culprit who sent Boontai to his island. He specifically told everyone including the viewers that Boontai is just a worker and it seemed that no one seriously believed in him and ignored his words. He is definitely not in denial of his relationship with Boontai but was just telling the fact.


Episode 4 “Damn monkey! Give me back my hat! You steal it every time I wear it.” Boontai shouted to Gayu.

Gayu will tell you what Boontai’s status is in the island. Boontai was the object of Gayu’s mischief. Even the monkey dislikes and is disrespectful towards her. How could Boontai be Harit’s wife even the monkey does not give a damn about her. By Soraya’s very word, the hypocritical monkey is just like her master. Gayu reflects her master in thoughts and behaviors. The reason why Gayu always snatched her pink hat could be that the hat was not a special gift from Harit just as Boontai lied to Soraya about. Gayu doesn’t like lies as you remember how violently she reacted when Harit asked her whether she torn Soraya’s clothing. Soraya is supposed to be a captive but look at how well she gets along with Gayu. If Gayu likes Soraya, it also reveals to us how much Harit likes Soraya. Whenever Soraya made an attempt to escape, she always failed because of Gayu. Gayu was always the one who leads her master to Soraya.


Episode 5 “I have never loved that woman”. “You know well that I and Boontai have nothing related to each other.” Harit told Soraya.

Now! The most crucial dialogue from Harit. To his own worker, he does not even give a damn to explain too much but look at what he told Soraya. In episode 5, we already know that he harbors affection for Soraya at this stage which he did not yet realize. Look at what he said. Firstly, he clearly told her that he “never loved”, then the said “You know well”(addressing personally to her that she knows full well that he and Boontai were not an item yet she still kept agitating him with that issue) and finally “nothing related”(importantly no sexual relation). That explains all.

Is Harit driven by his male hormones? The answer is definitely no! Look at how he rehabilitated Soraya with manual work and dressing change. She was not allowed to show her figure to seduce a man. In fact, how he treated Soraya was not to degrade her and not of much surprise. He just preached what he practices. Besides being successful, he was physically and mentally well discipline. He worked in the pearl farm, pearl factory and hotel and is always exercising…..running and swimming etc. He wore causally just a t-shirt with singlet inside and jean most of the time. He wanted Soraya to work is to discipline her not to despise poor people as he told her. He wore causally and is thrifty because the money he earned was not for himself but for his brother. He did not spend much on himself let alone on woman all his 33 years. Soraya could be the first woman to receive a gift from him.

Episode 3 “So, you ran across the jungle and cross the stream like this?” Said Harit

In episode 3, we know Boontai actually had a house of her own, a hut. She lived far across the jungle and cross the stream in Harit’s private island. So….far from Harit’s house and Bai’s hut. Then we know that she was not living with Harit. Harit actually occupy his house with his brother Harin whenever he was in the island. Actually why Boontai’s house was so far away is that gender propriety must be observed in the island. The propriety observed between master and his workers and between male and female workers. Harit was well respected by his workers is not only because he is a good boss but he also have superior moral character. Didn’t Harit tell Soraya that in the island he makes his own laws and he is the judge? He makes sure that Soraya does not dress to show her figure to seduce man. The same rules must have applied to all his workers. But look at Boontai?

I believed that in the past, Harit had 3 workers who did the housekeeping and island keeping. They were obviously Boontai, Boontai’s lover and Bai. Boontai should be the cook since she was banished to the pearl farm to do kitchen work.

*Remember the scene when Harit caught Boontai and her lover in his bedroom. Harit did not act like a jealous and angry lover. He was all calm, opening the door slowing peeking into the room and acting like a judge passing sentences to the adulterers. Listen to what Boontai said when she called after Harit to spare her lover. She called him Khun Harit. At the cliff, when Harit told Boontai’s lover that he dared to insult him. It obviously explained that his workers dared to insult him by doing something disgraceful in his own house and his room and who could pardon a worker who sin under your own roof and the servant who bite the hand that fed him. Therefore, according to Harit’s law, he had to be executed.


What Boontai’s identity was only a worker who had freely access to Harit’s house but was obsessed with having Harit as her husband. She worked in his house and seduced a man whenever Harit was not at home

Finally, Harit had the audacity to boast to Soraya how much experiences he had but look at how clumsy he was each time he asserted his punishments by threatening Soraya that he would rape her. I believed that he was as white a sheet as Soraya. He was not adept at maneuvering a woman’s body. First attempt, he used to much force that Soraya fainted. Second attempt, he spread his legs too wide above Soraya thigh that he gotten a kick in his crotch. Third, his shoulder was too near to Soraya’s mouth that he gotten a bite and forth, he trapped both her knees but could manage her upper body that he gotten knifed. Last, he succeeded in the rape because practice made perfect. This time he trapped her legs first, then her hands and made sure that his shoulders was far from Soraya’s mouth.

i just finished watching this lakorn today and must i say: I'm in LOVEEE with it!
Aff and Aum are amazing!
its really an addicting drama, that caused me to Google a lot of things cause its THAT addicting!
which in the end, makes me appreciate Thai Dramas a lot!

I've seen 2 episodes...but I cant watch anymore! The acting of the guy is great, but the girl is so...dry. I cant describe it anyway (I hope I wont offend anyone either), but I cant see any emotion on her face...maybe its cuz she's a bit pissed being in a deserted island and all. I mean when she's angry she's all like 'Hmpf...ah...huh..hmfff....pfff..'

Currently they have 2 more lakorn lined up remake of 'Namtan Mai', which basically about aff's character is married, but found out her husband is gay. so she ends up leaving. she ended up working in an interior design company where aum work. aum likes her and starts to persue aff. they eventually come to love each and sleep together. eventually they have misunderstanding and start to drift apart. aff decides to leave, but will eventually find out she is pregnant with aum's baby. cannot wait for this lakorn love both aum and aff. anywho there 2nd lakorn is also a remake call 'Plerng Boon', aum is in love with a girl, but the girl betray him and ends up marrying someone else. aff also know aum and is best friend w/ his ex. aum and aff get acquanted and later on marry eachother. in the meantime his ex, aff's bestfriend comes back into their lives again once she divorced her husband. aum who is still bitter and angry at her for dumping him have an affair w/ his ex. he eventually confess his affair to aff, she is angry and wants a divorce. he refused, but later on his ex is pregnant and that was the final straw. i seen the old version and err p'ek is an azz and the ex is a pinkberry lols. but it is a happy ending.

If you like aum and aff definetly catch their other works...even if they do not co-star together. you should try 'jai rao' starring aff and ken...that lakorn is so freakn good and sad one of the best...even though there was so much misunderstanding...still waiting for wishy to finish subbing it. also like sarah stated 'borisat bumbat kaen' starring aum and ann....is really good. ann so freakn good at acting.

I can't wait to see Aum and Aff together on screen again. =) 'Botan Gleep Sudtai' is a different genre from JLR, more family oriented and less focused on the love story b/w Ah Joo (Aum) and Ah Yong (Aff). But still I enjoyed that series a lot, it's very hardwarming with many meaningful dialogue. It took a while to get use to Aum as the long suffering Ah Joo but after a couple of episodes, I forgot about Harit and was rooting for the kind Ah Joo to make good in life.

Does anyone know where I can find eng subbed vids of 'borisat bumbat kaen'?? I've been wanting to watch it since I saw a clip of the 'making of'.... looks really interesting.

I thought Aff did a great job in this lakorn.
Things get better (more interesting), especially after episode 2 --
so you should definitely keep watching it.
There will be times when her character frustrates you,
but it's her character, not her acting.
