Which of these dramas do you like the best?
My favorite type of dramas are Taiwanese, Korean and Japanese. But the best is Korean. Taiwanese dramas always seem a bit non-serious...and incorrect...sometimes it doesnt make sense it all like in Bull Fighting, suddenly nobody wears their uniform to school..or in Smiling Pasta, the male lead didnt have more than 3 pairs of clothing troughout the whole drama (and he was supposed to be a celeberty!) but its lightheartedness is quite cute sometimes
Japanese dramas are really good, but Korean sipmly exceeds them. Korean dramas have something touching..like Thank You or Wonderful life.
What do you guys think

Why is there two chinese dramas?
Anyway, I voted for the first chinese drama simply because I can understand it (canto dramas anyway) and things that happen usually aren't predictable (though there are always the dramas that are VERY predictable). Korean would be a close second though!

Why is there two chinese dramas?
Let's not get started with the difference between Taiwanese, Hong Kong and China dramas. lol
I started a thread like this before. I think Korean drama won. lol
I am all about Japanese drama and some Taiwanese drama.
Korean drama makes me fall asleep.
Although Korean drama have rare exception like Coffee Prince, which so happen to have my favorite actor and actress and the story was superb.

that's why I love Taiwanese dramas, because most of them are so light hearted even though most of them are really predictable.
I mean deep and serious dramas are good but most of the time I get really bored with it. Even though I love Korean dramas too, there's always an annoying trend that in the middle of the serious there would be a deep and serious conflict going on... gets old for me :/
I don't watch Japanese dramas so I really have nothing to say for it...
Plus I like watching Taiwanese ones simply because I can understand it without reading subs, sometimes meanings, especially play on words or whatever, they get lost with translations.

I love korean dramas ^^ Dramas like Damo, all in, and autumn tale are unique and totally awesome =] full house, soul mate, my name is kim sam soon, my girl, and lovers in paris are also really funny and romantic.
I'm also starting to like japanese dramas like hana yori dango! but for some reason, I lose interest in chinese dramas because it's mostly about rich people and the whole cinderella thing.
anyways korean dramas are my faves

chinese dramas. and no im not talking about taiwanese dramas either. chinese dramas are seriously so underrated. most of them are soooo real because they are based on the daily lives of normal people. i used to love love love the cute taiwanese, korean and japanese dramas and the hardcore sobfest ones, but i think as i got older, i prefer the more realistic dramas (LOL sort of an oxymoron). don't get me wrong, i still love the popular idol dramas once in a while, but when it comes to favorites, nothing beats the realistic chinese dramas.

I usually watch more Korean dramas than Japanese. =D
But I really like dramas that...
1) is a romantic/comedy
2) can make audience cry their lungs out
3) can make us feel touched
I especially like dramas that has awesome cast or those cute guys.

Japanese dramas.
The plots are more intriguing and there's always more than just romance, in my opinion. In some J-dramas, there are subtle sparks between the two leads, but they don't end up together because the main focus of the drama isn't just romance... I think that's a more accurate portrayal of life because there's more to life than just triangle love relationships and cheating partners, really.
A lot of J-dramas offer life lessons or whatever you want to call them. They bring out the aspects of life that we often tend to neglect. I can't really describe what they are - you would be able to spot them if you watch the dramas, haha. Even comedy dramas like Gokusen and Tiger & Dragon have them. =]
I think I've said enough, lol.

Agreed!
the plots are intresting, and doesn't always revolve around a love/hate relationship
for example Engine, 1 Liter of Tears, or Nobuta wo Produce
great dramas about life, family, and friends and love too
but i do love the Korean/Chinese/Taiwanese/Thai dramas too XD

even though i'm currently obsessed with a thai drama

and korean dramas were the first ones that really impacted me (i was old enough to understand love, etc.), i picked taiwanese dramas because i grew up watching those with my mom and my aunts. my all-time favorite drama is "romance in the rain."

I love them all but when I want a good storyline or plot I pick K-Dramas, C-Dramas and Japanese Dramas and when I want something lighthearted I would turn to Taiwanese and Thai series.
Overall though I pick Thai drama. The only type of drama that I can watch without subtitles lol.

JAPANESE AND KOREAN hands down.

Feb 17 2008, 09:57 PM
Of course Korean drama~
Because....their drama is simple, the one I love the most is rarely takes a long episodes, just around 15~20 but enough to make you go with the stories. Some of them hard to forget because the detail, the soundtrack, and the words.
Another reason for me, because I love Korean guys!

I also like Japanese, they also make a good drama plot. The short one too. But sometimes I found it's hard to watch it without headache. Don't know....maybe it needs more brain cell contraction to understand the meaning~

although it's been a long time since my last k-drama, and currently i'm into jdoramas, i still choose k-dramas, because of the storyline, the acting skill, the expressions that the actress & actors showed, the chemistry, the soundtrack, the unforgettable scenes, the happy endings, the funny things, although the plots are just the same between them...but i still feel very entertained after watching them...and i feel satisfied, and for me those are the most important things from watching a dramas, although some people often says most of k-dramas are empty...but i don't really feel like that...
i just can't find all of it in jdoramas...
yes, jdoramas have soo many lessons from only one dramas, life lessons, a very strong bond of friendship like in NOBUTA or PROPOSAL DAISAKUSEN, but sometimes they just couldn't make a good expressions in acting, like crying, and sometimes they talk too polite to each other, and the chemistry...omg...i didn't really feel it, and the ending, most of jdramas are with an unclear ending so finally they have to make an SP, or a movie...to finalize it...nande...??? they like to give us a hangover or something like that...

I think japanese?
I've been watching korean dramas all the way for the last couple of years, with last yr, my haul includes:
-dal jas spring
-witch yoo hee
-coffee prince
-bad love
-Ooh su jung
but. NOdame cantabile was FANTASTIC!!
I think japanese dramas are faster paced than korean, so I think alot of ppl prefer watching japanese dramas I guess.
Hard for me to choose between the 2. usually i start to watch if the synopsis looks nice
But Korean and Japanese dramas wins hands down.

The thing I don't like about Korean and Taiwanese dramas is that their stories just drag on so they get boring sometimes. But some have really great storyline. I don't watch a lot of Chinese dramas so don't know much. And Thai drama...never seen one.

In my opinion, J-doramas are better than K-dramas cuz K-dramas do the same thing over and over (well, at least the ones I've seen) like business companies, two guys & a girl OR two girls & a guy, ending up in the hospital, cancer, cancer, cancer, and they seem to never get to the point and it seems like one scene alwyas takes forever to get over with especially when the character is just standing there...don't get me wrong but that's what I noticed about K-dramas...

I voted for Korean.
Most of the dramas I've seen are Korean. They are good however, they drag sometimes.
I do like Japanese but they bore me sometimes, depending what drama it is. But I do find that they have more meanings in them than Korean dramas.
As for the others, I haven't seen a wide selection of them.
