I wished I was use to taiwainese dramas but darn it- I'M NOT

The loud, high pitch sounds of their dialect makes me a lot annoyed. Taiwanese dialect will take some getting use to for me that is.

And the acting is somewhat mediocre, Cun Xi and Mrs.Chen for example.
The camera angles and the lack of variety of angle shots in the drama in general piss me off will take getting use to.
Like at the part where they were in that room with the hay the night Cun Xi first spent
in Xin Yi's home. They were arguing and the camera shot
was like a diagonal shot were you can't really see the expression on their faces.

Taiwan and every country has their own way of filming...but yeah still not use to it.

Everything seems way too lenient.
The girl is freakkin' poor and the Grandma just wants the child anyway?
Doesn't she want her grandson to go with a prettier, ambitious, confident girl?

It seems so surreal but I guess that's the point of a drama right?
To bring out the best of bad circumstances so the audience has something
to find intriguing yet contrary to reality.

I also feel that this is sort of like Wonder Life but of course WF was better =D but
hey I could be wrong.
I am very of bias considering I LOVE KDRAMAS (started my drama addiction).
But, I can also say that Taiwanese has their few kickers too.

However, for some reason I feel that FTLU will be of influence in my internal
Taiwanese database .

Needless to say, I find I am struggling puzzled with this drama.
The plot is so fast, I thought there should have been a little more
transition time so that the two could know each other more before
jumping to him finding out about her pregnancy and all that jazz.

I hope, however, that the focus will be on the Cun Xi and Xin Yi's relationship as a
couple more and how they can grow to love despite obstacles like Anna and the like.


That is all. And anyone feels offended then I can say one thing.

Welcome to this thread, your opinion is acceptable to me although I don't feel the same. I have friends who love kdrama and I also have friends who dislike Kdrama, to each his own cup of tea.

I have watched some of the highly popular Kdrama and do not think their acting is that good either.

People in this thread enjoy this drama a lot and feel that this is one of the better taiwanese dramas in recent years.

There may be taiwanese dramas that you like, but others may not like it at all. It's all a matter of subjective taste. That's why they have TV rating to gauge how wide is the appeal and how attractive is a TV drama to all viewers.

omg...this is like the best drama....it is a new twist to dramas...i can't wait to see ep. 6 with sub.........i can't wsit to see what happens when anna comes back from new york....i wonder what will happen......




um....u shouldn't be criticizing other people's language..and to tell u Taiwanese dramas are very good if u just watch it long enough.....i'm not chinese and i don't speak mandarin but i like their language..it's really nice..also u have no rights to criticize how people act cause u know nothing about acting...unless u have been acting urself too then stop talking about other people's acting.....this is open to people's opinion but ur just out of line.....if u don't like this drama don't watch it no one forced u to watch it...stop hating..if u don't have something nice to say don't say it at all cause it offends many people......

IMO, I felt that Mars-mode Vic Zhou vibe coming off Dylan.
Although some people don't like Vic Zhou and his acting, I mean the style and characteristic of that Mars character.

I knew Dylan reminded me of SOMEONE.
It was itching my mind.


I hope Episode 6 is crazy good because now that I know it is Dylan-less, I might be watching it in my bias-like ways.

actually i read somewhere that the grandma was suppose to not like xin yi at first but after a while the grandma starts to like xin yi more....







i prefer this plot cuz its faster and not so draggy like most drama... on those drama i usually skip the draggy talking part cuz i find it useless and boring.. ftly keeps me entertain at all time

I agree with you wholeheartedly, I like the fact the drama moves on very quickly, leaving me breathless...and impatient for the next episode. The other drama that left me feeling the same way was "Prince turn to frog"

Today the scriptwriter of FTLY wrote in her blog that she is sure there will be more than 15 episodes for FTLY. She is unable to confirm how many episodes there will finally be because sometimes a single chapter of script can be filmed into 2 or 3 episodes when it was made into a drama. Sanlih won't know how many episodes there will be until they have completed the filming.

Episode 7 was SOOOOO good. My favourite episode yet...cuz so much happened. It was hilarious too...

Yes..there were so many funny moments that it is hard for me to recall any specific ones...

I think the sister of XY acted very well in epi 7, her part of the story was more effective in epi 7 compared to in epi 6. She was particularly good at acting out the giving birth part.

Yeah, there were too many sweet moments...and a lot of memorable ones too. I thought the doctor and XY's sis did a good job. And I loved CX in this episode ^^...he's so sweet

I think Anna's coming back next episode, and there are also Dylan scenes as well.

I love the doctor! I LOLed at the part when he was making faces to the babies.

When XinYi was talking about how cute it would be if a family of three had matching clothes (I think thats what she said), CunXi just had to mention about Anna not liking that style. Poor XinYi.

been awhile since i watched a taiwanese drama...but gosh...guess this one is the one to make me wanna to watch. just wanted to make a few comments...

first, xy...gosh...i know her character is exaggerated, but don't some of us feel like her sometimes...too considerate of others, can't say no, and always saying sorry for things we couldn't prevent...she's an extreme...but i can identify with her and can't wait for her change into someone stronger...i'm thinking that's where her character is headed...

then, there's cx...gosh...his character is kind of bipolar, but it's a drama, so the torn feeling most people would have over still being in love with someone else and moving on with someone their "fated" to love is exaggerated. so, since it's a drama, it's expected. i can forgive the dude. plus, i'm looking forward to when he realizes xy is his fated love...and then she's no longer who he use to take for granted...that will be so fun to see.

next, anna, i feel for this character too. she's out there chasing her dream...but she has to choose between love or career...difficult for any woman. technically, xy is the other woman, so it is unfair to her, but leaving cx is unfair too... i think she's in cx's positon w/ xy...she's taking him for granted.

i don't know what i think of dylan yet. he's cute, but haven't seen much of him to make a definite decision if he'll be the second lead that i'll root for to end up with xy. the way it's going, i'm thinking he may just stay in friendship terriorty...he doesn't seem to have any linklings of finding xy appealing...dude's preoccupied with finding his sister and i think that's totally cool if he just stays her supportive friend...but what are the chances...

as for all the other minor characters...totally love the grandma...so cute...xy's family...a bit crazy, but gosh the second sister and the mom do look like they could be mother and daughter...i have to totally mention second sister's husband qi qi...so hilarious...so funny to see him as a husband and dad after his "bad ass" performance as a gangster in "my lucky star"...oh so funny...love the oh so wise doctor...and i think anson totally annoys me...doesn't seem to be much help to cx...

well, that's it for now.

oh and over 15 episodes? what? and only 1 epi per week...man, how will i survive...gosh...we can't at least get 2...ah...

it's kinda weird how he didnt notice they were kidnapped... especially since his window was wide open, and they were right in front of him...

like the second oldest pregnant sister said..."men, they're no good..." and apparently in cx's case...they're slow too...hehehehe

i didn't like episode 7! too little chunxi and xinyi moments! but the next episode seems promising!! grrgrgrr can't wait! why is this a weekly drama! it's torturous!

Awwww... I watched the latest episode last night.

It was so sweet! You could see the change in CX's character towards XY. Some improvement, more gentleness, less resentment. He does it unknowingly, it seemed so second nature to him. Haha. *__* But each time his assistant pops in the picture or reminds him about how the XY-being-a-snail-theory, he gets back into his burly offensive self again =_= he's trying so hard to be mean to her, which is kinda funny. It just goes to show how much he is attracted to her doesn't it? Haha.

And when they went shopping for baby goods! Aha. Man, CX was so indignant about buying ALL the milk bottles on the shelf. T___T The best only for his newborn son, the future hier! Hahaha. He was clearly being taken for a trip. And yet he willing allowed it to happen.

From the preview, seems like CX's in for another disappointment in the next episode *_* Anna's probably not gonna make it back for his bday celebrations. :/ Man, but this just means her plan to return = a return in the next or next next episode = more drama ahead.

Random: Man, i'd love to hate XY's boisterous sister. She gets me so tickled with her countrybumpkin, simplistic antics. LMAO. Srsly man, its itsy bits of actors and characters like this that adds on to the hiliarity of the show. So far i'm enjoying what i'm seeing. And that's good cos it helps chases away those monday blues. Hehe.


Syjfan: Yeah. She looks made over in the additional preview for ep8. I think in the earlier episodes.. Maybe 3 or 4. We can see her "new image" as the boss's wife -- when they were walking together in the office grounds. And how they were rejoicing with happy tears on their success of the % of ratings the drama received. ^__^ She looked really different then~ No more specky XY!

my predition of what's going to happen.. may contain spoilers so don't read it if you dont want to spoil the drama

episode 8 - anna gets in an accident and cant make it to cunxi's bday... xinyi feels bad so she dress up as a chicken and pretend to be anna...
episode 9 - anna comes back (the trolley scene from the intro song happens) and xinyi feels left out (i heard somewhere that ep 9 and 10 were the 2 saddest ep so far... qiaoen read the scipt and cried)
episode 10 - xin yi's miscarriage
episode 11- 2 yrs later... xinyi is staying with dylan?

Yep that's what i think soo.. also i think Anna gets into accident and she can't dance anymore. So now she has nothing left except for cunxi!

Can't wait for next ep!! I want to see Dylan!!

From the novel and from the direction of ths drama, XY won't be starting with Dylan. Reason was because she was not able to get over her failed marriage for a long time. Finally when Dylan proposes to her, CX bumped into XY in Shanghai again.

XY wanted to buy a birthday gift for CX but has no money, pawned all the jewellries given to her by her mom, and not knowing what to buy, called up Dylan for help. In the process, Dylan witnessed what length XY would go to just to make CX happy....

When Anna called and said she wanted to come back specially to celebrate with CX, CX seeing how happy is XY, couldn't break the news to XY that he could no longer be with XY and keep dragging on .....

Kudos for this drama for being different, however, it really pains me to watch a drama whose characters are the SAME as almost every other drama. The hard guy, the simple girl, the guy that simple girl likes but isn't 'destined' with, and the girl that the guy isn't 'destined' with. There are not many out there that flow against this trend.
