The 22-year-old actress has already recorded several songs for the soundtrack to her upcoming Dylan Thomas movie 'The Edge of Love'.

The LP features the songs Keira sings in the movie, set during World War II, including her opening number 'Blue Tahitian Moon', as well as renditions of 'Maybe It's Because I Love You Too Much' and 'Drifting And Dreaming'.

Last year, Keira - who plays one of two women vying for the affections of Welsh poet Dylan - confessed she did not have much confidence in her singing ability.

She said: "I can't really sing. I had to have a few lessons, but once I started doing it, a sound emerged that wasn't too disagreeable."

Suggs from Madness, Siouxsie Sioux, Patrick Wolf and Beth Rowley also feature on the soundtrack which will be released in the summer to coincide with the opening of the film.

'The Edge of Reason', which was written by Keira's mother Sharman Macdonald, stars Matthew Rhys as Dylan Thomas, Kiera as the wordsmith's childhood friend Vera Phillips, and Sienna Miller as his wife Caitlin MacNamara.

i seriously don't like it when actresses/actors release albums, it's like they're never satisfied.

but if keira does have a nice voice and can pull a decent tune at least have a range then she can do whatever
scarlett however does sound really nice (she sang during snl and actually was surprisingly good)

still iffy about this though ._.;; i feel like i'm contradicting myself lol but we'll see how well these 'singers' do.

Wow, another joining the rush of actors/actresses trying to release albums for more publicity. I don't mind if they really have a talent for singing, but it's terrible sometimes when they can't sing at all, or their voices are average at best XD I have nothing against multi-entertainers, but please be kind on my eardrums.

At least she's admitting that she can't really sing, HAH XD; Well, I'll leave the verdict til after the album's been released and we've had a chance to actually see whether her voice is bearable or not. It'll be interesting. Her little "pirate song" sequence at the start of the 2nd Pirates movie wasn't too bad, at least it didn't make me wince.
