Naru's a new musician signed to Happy Robot Records.



Biography

Kyung Tae Kang (naru) took a keen interest in music from a young age, learning various instruments during his childhood. He first discovered the guitar when his cousin played it, after showing enthusiasm for the instrument his father gave him his first guitar. With this he listened to American bands such as The Smashing Pumpkins and Garbage and learned to play their songs. When he was at university, he played in an emocore band until 2007 when, naru started writing material by himself for the first time.

He recorded a demo which was discovered by Happy Robot Records and recorded his debut album Jagadangchak, while still at university. On this album he had the honour of working alongside Jeong Mujin (ex-Unnine Ibalgwan) and Choe Jae Hyok (Deli Spice) as well as producing and recording the album himself. The album was released in March 2008.

While naru performs as a solo artist at the moment, he has plans in the future to perform his material as a three-piece, hiring two musicians to play bass and drums. He also intends to do more production work.

Soundclips load faster at hyang music ^^

I knew this artist was great!
i read the interview about him a few weeks ago and thought that maybe i should try listening to him.
well i tried today those soundclips and woot, i'm so amazed ^ ^ great music! really really loved it~
i really want to buy his cd somewhere if i can just find it (: but thanks a lot for sharing the info!~

I bought his album today and I listen just to a bit for now, but I really like what I hear 8D
he's cool.
but he has just this one album, does he? :/ (besides the songs he did on samplers)

^ I saw in the Happy Robot website that he is releasing his 2nd album in 2009. Not sure about the date though.

Anyway, I love Naru! Actually, I only have 1 song by him (duet with deb from the 남과 여... 그리고 이야기 album) but I love his voice. I also listen to the previews and his music style is great.

his second album is supposed to come in beginning of october now 8D (his cyworld club says that) excited~
so it will come before the GMF, wonder if he will perform new songs there then~~

oh, oh, and his song from this album (the one he sung with DEB) is the song for GMF 2009 8D yay~ (a remix actually, but it sounds good)

there is a special about GMF2009 on naver. when you scroll down you can watch a video with him. looks like it was taken after THEY electronic session. he's cute :x

I can't wait for the album ㅠㅠ seems he is really busy with finishing it.

he also has 2 performances today, on at the Soundholic Label party and he's guest for W&Whale's concert.

apparently Naru's album will be late. He said he finished the songs, but didn't put it together as an album. he says he has the feeling there is a part of the puzzle missing, so after the GMF he will continue on that problem since he let it down now for a while.(I kind of love how such artists can take their time to make it perfect and don't need to rush :|)
and, he's busy for practising for GMF now, he will also be session for Lasse Lindth. He will also perform two songs called '키' and '먼데이댄싱' (Monday dancing?) from his new album *___* apls and deb are also supposed to perform with him, the themesong I guess
