Ok I wouldn't say I'm this HUGE fan of Miley. I don't even really pay much attention to her at all to be honest. She seems like a good kid despite those pictures of her in her undies. I just wanted to know what's up with this whole "Miley is the next Britney" thing. I think it's getting ridiculous. It seems like no one will be happy until she gets knocked up and is caught smoking.

I agree that the undie myspace pics were a no no. Still that doesn't mean she'll turn out to be like Britney. For people to be so obsessed with her becoming a troubled child star is quite disgusting. I mean Lord forbid she makes one mistake and people are swearing up and down that she's a delinquent. Well I just wanted to know is it just me who thinks this obsession is crazy?

The more exposure/attention that a celebrity gets, the more people will try to find their flaws and use it against them. Especially when you're a huge hit at such a young age, celebrities tend to have more negative press and criticisms from people who aren't so famous themselves.

People LOVE gossips. It's all juicy stuff, you know. They compare her to Britney because Britney became super famous at a young age like Miley. They expect her to have the exact downfall at Britney. That's all I can say.

I think that they reason why people like to make the comparison is because Miley lives very similarly to how Britney did in the past. Of course, they both had their start on the Disney channel too and they are both from the south, and are both pop performers- so people are going to compare the two. Miley's remarks saying she won't end up like other failed/troubled stars makes people watch her every move and wait for her to mess up. It isnt right that the media portrays them that way, but thats what keeps them both famous and in the limelight.

well I'm not a miley fan but i never really look at her as the next britney spears well i cant imagine it. Like iono about the obsession but she might fall someday maybe not in britney foot step maybe at other problems. but for now all i see is that fame has gotten to her head and shes keep trying to climb that ladder that ladder for more and more fame and attention. And who knows what would happen from there with all these new extra attention she getting.

^ I wouldn't say bigger...I was 9 at Britney's prime, and it was straight-up crazy, too. Pretty much like it is right now with Miley except step it up a level with screaming fans all over; not to mention, Britney had fanboys as well compared to Miley's majority of fangirls.

People compare the two because they both played -or in miley's case, is currently playing- the virginal, sweet teens with caring parents. They're the American dream come true. However, in Miley's case, her bad side has been revealed a few times. As opposed to Brit's where her PR team did an amazing job to keep her innocence for as long as possible. I don't think Miley should say anything at all though, instead of stating it like a fact, "I know I'll never be like Britney Spears," just say, "I can't make any promises, things might happen."

Used to love Britney, she was really good. Miley has been crazy these days. I don't know if she'd be the next Britney Spears because that's just insane, but you never know. She's been talked about being all crazy and boozed up a lot. Wish both of them the best of luck in their careers.

it's not one mistake though, that's why. One mistake is fine. Inappropriate pictures repeatedly showing up, people start to think that she will become a britney or whatever. Because we've seen it happen to celebrities so many times, they grow up and become all the bad things they weren't before. Remember Kirsten Storms? The blond girl in johnny tsunami, also from the disney movie Zenon, now in general hospital or something. She smokes, and drinks, and a while back got arrested for drinking and driving. Maybe you are right in that the media and people keep talking about it, almost wanting her to BE bad just so there is more gossip news. But still, we don't want to see another role model for children grow up to be like that. That's what people are getting sick of.

Honestly I think Britney > Miley.

As a poster said before, they kind of had the same backgrounds, and with her new pictures, they're just trying to write articles that people want to read - you know, bring in money. And obviously people don't want to read about how how much better these people are and how great they're doing in life - they want to feel less jealous and talk about these stars' flaws. It's as simple as that

Unfortunately, I can't compare Miley with Britney music wise. Even if Britney's songs are relatively...well very electronically manipulated, they're a whole lot more interesting to listen to. Miley really isn't that much of a great singer and her songs are amateur and boring. Like, I'm just not lured by it and her voice is really annoying - like it's definitely not the right song match or whatever imo.

In terms of career, I don't think Miley could ever reach up to Britney's level.
But on her personal life, I think Britney is just a one of a kind.

Dude, You're kidding right? As much as I may dislike Miley, its tiring when people say that. She actually is a very very good singer. Just because her voice is raspy, people say shes "straining and trying to hard", when actually shes a wonderful singer.

This thread should just be close because there is no point comparing these two. Britney went through a tough time.. going to rehab, trying to fix her life and be w/ her kids, etc. While Miley is growing up and experiencing her teen life. Yeah, she's coming out w/ scandalous pictures but that doesn't mean that she's turning into the NEXT BRITNEY SPEARS. Both are so different from each other. I wouldn't say she's a bad singer, I actually like 2-3 of her songs... she's getting there.. ya know. Everyone should just relax and stop comparing these two.
