Well I hope this type of thread hasn't been created yet but I wanted to create a thread to share any Filipino artists or bands that you would like to recommend to others and discover some for yourself.

I was going through my whole CD collection and I realised how little of it consisted of Filo bands but ones I do actually recommend are Kitchie Nadal and her self-titled album (particularly the song Huwag na Huwag Mong Sasabihin), and anything by Rivermaya. I'm sure there are more great bands out there so, your turn!

I started looking up their songs on youtube and clicked on 'Ikaw Lamang'. I love the music video, it's so cute!

Hey, that's a really beautiful song.. makes me realise how much good Filo music I have been missing out on.

I wasn't really a huge fan of OPM music and bands but they're great talented singers ..
Also, during this one concert in my school where a lot of local bands came, they all seemed very nice..

Silent Sanctuary - The guys are pretty humorous. They were late for about a few minutes and when the other members arrived, they made themselves suffer the consequence.. haha!! They sang a whole lot of songs for us.

6Cyclemind - Nei is great. He's an awesome charismatic singer. Short though.. XD Funny thing is that when they arrived, because I don't know much local bands, I was pointing towards the girl beside them and asking 'bakit sila nandito? bawal dito' ... turns out, the guys in black were the band and the girls were their staff. Lol..

And other bands that I recommend would be

MYMP - great, fun and soulful ballads...
Parokya ni Edgar - loved them ever since.. they're great lyricists.. XD
Southborder - just plain awesomeness... their voices are heaven..

the only group i listen to was one vo1ce/voice 5...such talented girls with amazing accapella skills. Kinda hate how the lead singer sings most of the parts in the song o.o;

I am so out of touch with Filipino music. I have Hale and Cueshe's CDs which are pretty good. That's all I can contribute. haha.

I think the song's called "your song" not "one and only you", before i thought that that was the title! but someone corrcted me too...
hmm.. callalily's great! I recommend their songs stars, takipsilim and magbalik..

Well this person is definitely has no OPM, though she is half filipino (Cebu ; father's side). Knows no tagalog either XD though only a few words. Visits the Philippines sometimes also.

When it Comes to Western Style Music(Rock,Jazz,Funk etc..)... Filipino is the best in Asia..almost every gig/hotels around asia have a filipino bands to sing popular western music..of course filipinos can make original songs too..

There's so many good Filipino bands that I can't think of one that I actually wouldn't recommend. As far as OPM goes, I love Sarah Geronimo, of course, and I'm a huge, huge, HUGE fan of Hale.

There's so many good bands in the Philippines. I wish people recognize them internationally one day. I feel like the whole Korean wave's hooked so many Filipinoes that they don't listen to their own music anymore. Korean music is great, but support your own, too!
